- Hey guys!
So, my latest endeavour is to cover the entire Operation Mindcrime, all guitar parts, the full shebang! This is track 7, The Mission. A real fan favourite this one with a truly superb Degarmo solo. I used a real crappy mic to record my 12 string - its all I have, so you'll just have to deal with that I'm afraid!
I recorded all the guitar parts over the original track using my Axe Fx 2 and Logic X. I put the video together using iMovie. All parts were figured out by ear, I do NOT have tab so don't ask!
I claim no ownership to the original material, this is a non profit series of videos for your enjoyment only. If you haven't already got this album, go and buy it NOW!

Mindcrime is by far my favorite album of all time. I mean that literally. Watching all these new covers your playing is as enjoyable as the first time I heard it. Thank you for that.

The Lead Guitarist Style ..Not necessary on Tone ..
But I find it to be very different than others ..(blues based )
The Chord Structures are inversions and cool Arpeggiated Embellishments as Well as Double Stop Octave rythms ..
Any MODE input ??
Something else I can wrap my head around ...

I'm working a few different Tunes By Queensryche ...Just taking a Physical Break and Brain training /ear training helps keep me focused ...

What amp and settings can I use to get that sweet, sweet guitar sound? I have a few different tube amps (Bugera and Blackstar) but do all my recording through guitar rig.

I'm trying this out now, but I"m really still a beginner guitarist. The fast parts in the solo are killing me. Well the first one anyway. I haven't even made it to the 2nd quick part at the end. I'm definitely loving this series of videos from Mindcrime.
