Nothing better than a beagle bugle
You are right; it is exactly like a bugle! Especially the first one at 0.26. It always takes me a bit by surprise when he launches into one of those bugle calls--it comes out of nowhere!
That's one trick I think only beagles can truly master! My two (non beagle) dogs are fascinated with Oliver's beagle bugle, but they can't ever make a sound that's anything like it. . . although one of them does try, lol.😂

@@weareallwonderwomen5327 Yes, I can usually only manage to get his attention for about 1.5 seconds before he assesses that I don't have a treat and then goes back to doing exactly what he was doing!

I love how he starts barking when you’re talking about his shaved patch, like “DAD, don’t talk about my shaved patch in front of other dogs! It’s embarrassing!” So glad he’s doing better!
lol, our Ollie is growing up! Next time we go to the park he'll probably be like, "Dad, you're embarrassing me in front of the other dogs, could you stand a bit further away please??"

Oh my God, that is so true! Years ago, when my little beagle turned down a treat, I freakin panicked! Turned out she had an infection. That's beagles for you!

Dash and I are so glad that Oliver is feeling better! Dash always stands by the stove when he knows I am making chicken and rice for him. He gets that meal when his tummy is a bit off. Oliver looked so handsome when he was standing outside in show dog stance....head up and tail high! Beagles are hunting dogs so they have fur all around their toes which helps to keep them warm. Dash loves patrolling in the backyard.
When Oliver doesn't eat, you definitely know something is wrong, but I'm so glad to hear that he has recovered and is doing so well.
But you really need to bring treats to the park!

I give my beagle homemade food (stired ground meat with carrot, peas, rice, egg together)and filtered water everyday. She eats very few treats (3 pieces of beef lung per day). Her gut is good.

My Beagle, Jack, had the same thing happen about two years ago and scared me. He spent the night in the ER, was on IV fluids and came home on a boiled chicken and rice diet. (He would spit out the rice.) It took a while before he got better and didn't like going back on the dog food. Even today he still prefers chicken over any other kid of meat. Oliver, you will get better. I know what happened turned your Dad's hair even grayer. It's like having a kid when your dog gets sick and they can't tell you what is wrong with them. They are our babies.
So glad Oliver is better. When he barks it's like he knows exactly what his owner is saying!
