Good advice. Thanks Bob. (And as you say, this water isn’t wasted it all goes back into the water system).

    Another great video, thanks Bob.
Way back in our caravan days I used Puriclean and Purisol but then discovered that Chlorine based solutions can damage stainless steel components, water heaters, boilers etc., so still fine for Aquarolls and the like.
Since then, and currently in our motorhome, I use either diluted White Vinegar or Citric Acid, both foodstuffs and work very well.
I also always use an inline filter on the hose when filling the tank after noticing fine grit and plastic particals in the on-board filter.

As long as it's been cleaned with PuriSol I'm happy to drink it.

    Hello Bob
I also just checked the cold water filter on my Whale pump and you wouldn't believe what I found inside. There was alot of black plastic and pieces of grit. Also this material felt greasy or slimy. I clean the tank twice a year as per your video's so I think you should check your filter. I have photos should you wish to see them.

No this is video I made last week, but yes I hoped no one would notice I made the same video 2 years ago. I have several thousand new subscribers since then.

This is one of these marketing things. Create a problem that doesn’t exist. No need to clean your fresh water tank. Just flush it out regularly in the summer months.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo just use for onboard tank for washing and showering and drink bottled water maybe?

@johnrocker2986 the big risk is legionella when left for a few weeks. We know someone who contracted this and it's not pleasant. That water is not wasted. It flows back through the system to water treatment plants. The reservoir we visited held 18 billion litres. We don't have a water shortage in this country we have an infrastructure problem. I probably save a 100 litres of water by dry washing the motorhome with dry sparkle. Your logic would have us not have us washing anything with water.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo true we don't currently have a water shortage at all. The water that flows back is it free from contaminants? Being a confirmed hypocrite I do wash my van from time to time and use a pressure washer to mitigate the amount I waste if the water as you say finds its way back into the system, why has Hose pipe use been band in our past, but you did mention another truth! Our Infrastructure is collapsing.

200 Litres wasted this is not right however way you look at it, this waste is life or death for some, sorry I love your stuff but this not acceptable.

How else do you suggest a water tank is cleaned?? Of course it needs rinsing through

One of the wettest winters on record, large parts of the UK still waterlogged, if not flooded, and you're banging on about 200 litres. FFS 🙄

@@BobEarnshawMoHo Worth a thought we have 225,000 Motorhomes on our roads growing yearly by 1,900 newly registered vans, if both Tanks are cleaned only once a year the water wastage is close on 90,000,000 litres of water although this is an exaggeration but imagine cleaning twice a year.
