  • Seems like a good bullet / powder combination in my opinion…now I need to load up a few rounds and shoot ‘em over the chronograph…y’all have a good one!

Just don't look at the savage with a bore scope... inside looks like highway rumble strips and the crown looked like knapped flint on mine. Gunsmith said the chamber looked unfinished too. Returned to savage, 6 months later I got it back. All they did was recrown the barrel. Shoots ok ish. Keep up the good work Sir!

you can settle the grains a bit and get some more fill by gently tapping the case. Some folks use an electric toothbrush. The VV is usually really good stuff but $$$

Hey glad this popped into my feed I just scored 6 pounds of the stuff. Doing good in 6.5 with 129sst so far. But I will say h4350 has still been beating it. Going to try in my 7.5 Swiss for giggles

I’m a big fan of the 129gr SST in the Creedmoor…killed a doe with that bullet a couple seasons ago and was able to recover it…posted a video about the terminal performance

Awesome despite the wind. Its a sporter barrel made to hunt and those results would make any Alabama whitetail pretty grumpy. The rifle is accurate, period. But I was wondering...it seems you've gravitated away from Lee collet sizing. Is there any particular reason beyond making reliable hunting loads that will chamber every time? That's plenty good reason for sure. When I bought my Creedmoor at steal, I don't know why I felt this way but I hoped it wouldn't be as accurate as my 270 hunter (I didn't really care for all the Creedmoor hype and still don't). Well, there is no denying that it shoots and shoots damn well! It really is one hell of a good round. I hope you get the 30-06 kinks worked out and God bless

I ended up getting rid of the Lee Collet die but plan on getting another one. For this range trip I used a Hornady FL sizing die with the expander ball removed and bumped the shoulder back .002” then I ran the brass up into a LE Wilson expander mandrel die. Most of the time though I just run it up into a FL sizer die and let the expander ball set the neck tension…just decided to change it up.

Yep, makes complete sense. I will typically bump the shoulder 001 to 002in with my Wilson full length bushing die and then use a 21st century expander mandrel just to clean up my neck tension. I know it seems pointless to use a full-length bushing die if I'm going to use an expander mandrel but it has always helped with my concentricity and tension

43.4 is max and most people are a little over max to be in that 2750 range
