$32.99 for a box?? It’s $47.99 a box here in Texas for those lol
I know this is an older video. I like the ram shot powders. I get pretty good velocities and accuracy with them. In my 30-06 I used ram shot hunter with a Speer btsp 165gr and I achieved 2951 fps and I was u see book max. Speer says max should be just under 3000 with the hunter powder. I ended up with a .40” group. Max does show a compressed load but I have my bullets seated long then they say so when I did finally finish loading to max the next range trip the load wasn’t compressed. Unfortunately my chrono wasn’t working so I didn’t get velocities . So I’m going to be heading back out to see what they were
No need to crimp if you are loading for a bolt action. I doubt the 350 has enough recoil to move bullets in the magazine. Try it without crimps and see if your accuracy improves.
You're just changing the neck dimension, so it's referred to simply "semi-wildcatting." Sinclair makes an exspander die with interchangeable mandrels for concentric neck sizing. I use the Sinclair exspander die for making 270 Winchester into 280 Ackley Improved and 30-06 Springfield - 308 Winchester into 338-06 A-Square - 338 Federal. Annealing is best after forming and before firing. If annealed before forming you will most likely collapse the shoulder. Personally I would use 308 Winchester and form it into 30 TC using Redding Imperial Sizing Wax.
It that 700 a late 80’s Mountain Rifle?
Hey buddy I’m currently working on a load for my 25-06 using the 110 Sierra TGK bullet I have heard the COAL is 2.950 I can’t find that bullet in my Sierra handload manual would you happen to know if that is true thanks
Nice find , congrates. Might I ask what you had to give for it ?
I’m getting 3000 fps out of my Mosberg 6.5 Prc w 147’s w N570. .5 moa 5 shot groups. I’m in Idaho. Long shots. Windy. Not using copper.
I've got the same Caldwell rest set. That was a good deal! Think I paid $120 or so several years ago. I did end up replacing the bags with some leather Protektors.
@@TheOutdoorGeneralist seems to be a good shooting rest but that’s with only one range trip on it so far.
I use the Spartan Ascent Gen2 its kinda one of them wiz bang space age material tripod, and I still watch all your videos, lol.
Thanks for sharing brother 😁🙏 enjoyed it.
I would check out H1000 or 4831SC. Much more temp stable for hunting.
I got the same rifle minus stock, used hammer bullets 125grain and magpro. Loaded to 3000 fps. One issue I have with this cartridge is it tends to cause hard bolt lift, low power reloads, factory ammo, all have hard bolt lift
😎👍
Kewl!! ❤
@@cw2a good afternoon buddy!
Been wondering if the PRC is a worthy step up from the Creedmoor, given the reach and effectiveness of the Creed. Is it just more blast, more throat erosion, more recoil for perhaps unmeasurable effect on most game?
@@exothermal.sprocket the advantage is increased velocity over tye creed using the same bullets which for me isn’t necessarily an advantage given my limited shot distance on game when hunting. If you need to extend your effective range on game then it’s definitely an advantage over the creed.
@@alabamareloader About 200 fps on average?
@ yea I would say on average probably 200+ FPS advantage. Barnes shows a 300 FPS difference between the highest velocity with the 127gr LRX between the PRC and Creed
thanks 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thanks for sharing.
Yep, the 22-250 Ackley Improved already exists. The same goes for the 25 Creedmoor owners. That exists also in the shape of the 250-3000 Ackley Improved. But please keep going Hornady, I love stuff that's old that's new again.👍
Man. I was totally on board with this rifle until I saw the damn bolt hit the scope. Ive had an X-Bolt for a decade and the 60 degrees throw has spoiled me. I recently inherited a vanguard from my late father in law and I really liked it except my darn hand always hits the scope when I use the bolt and the bolt always hits the edge of the vortex scope caps and pop it open so I have to turn the scope cap to some odd angle to allow it to work. Such a bummer. Looking at the CZ 600 American now. Ugh
I just learned about this company. I hope to score some decent deals in the future for calibers I don’t even have dies for yet!!!
Heard huntsville mentioned, little too close to home
I don't disagree on 2 holes is better than one but really it all depends on what you hit also. double lung and heart vs a back gut liver might produce a totally different blood trail.
Even though I made my comments, I see no big Effort by C.EO. KEN DARCY, To challenge, or prove they are back 100% To full glory. A lot of us are still GUN SHY! Each Rifle, should come with a test target, with plain jane Remington CL Ammo.
My favorite powder so far has been MagPro for the 6.5 PRC. Also had good results with H1000 and N565. My favorite bullet is the 124 gr Hammer Hunter. Good luck sir! 👍🏻
Also, my hunting load is the 130 CX over H1000. Shoots really good. Have taken two deer this year with really good success.
Keep an eye out on American Reloading for brass. It’s all Hornady but I’ve had good luck so far
This video was usless af
Hornady brass never weighs out very good
Speer Impact is a bonded bullet, and it hammers deer! Good video....
I agree, 3 shots is a waste when 2 will, most of the time, tell you what you need to know
I get to ramp up loads for 6.5 PRC when deer season is over or whenever all my deer meat orders are filled, whichever comes first. I got one back with the 24" Brux plus I have both factory Tikka Roughtechs for me and my son. If you ever want a 6.5PRC build of your own let me know. I have a new reamer 6.5 PRC-AW only used once.
🚂
I have had good luck with the classic hunter in 6 mm on deer
You need negative comments? I will chip in to the cause. SMU deserved the CFP over Bama. Teams cannot lose to Vandy and get routed by OU if they want to complain about not getting selected!! 😂
Good stuff man❤
Thanks for sharing brother 😁 heard that GRAND powder was a great powder for it ,,I am going to work up some 270 loads with it and magnum primers ,,.140 grain projectiles..I like that 6.5 prc man thanks again for sharing.
three shots isnt enough. come on man😆
I have some load data directly from Berger if you want to shoot me an email address, I'll forward to you. Just now beginning my journey with 6.5PRC as well.
I would recommend downloading GRT to get load data for the 135 gr Berger.
Hahaha It's the answer to not being embarrassed at admitting to friends you got a 6.5 Creedmoor.
☺️👍🏼🙏🙏👍🏼☺️
Trying to make it hard on yourself with a mossberg lol
Is it a short action?
@@ReloadingQuest yes
The starline 308 brass i got was short one piece. Kind of pissed me off but oh well good brass for the money. Really like it
I have a new 280AI rifle. Mine has a 1@8 26-inch barrel. Not a fan of short barrels. I bought mine for a spring black bear hunt. Doing load development with IMR 7828ssc. And Berger 7mm 150gr and 168gr Classic Hunter bullets.
I’ve done a barrel break in and have never had a problem. Fact is, most manufacturers don’t have a barrel break in recommendation or process. The rules are good out of the box with just an initial cleaning.
2024 now and Midway had this on sale for $119 That's like lunch at McDonalds these days. Thanks for the review and Love your Trump mug BTW!
