Thank you so much, Lindsey! I really appreciate you sharing your painting class from beginning to end. I work at a resort in Texas and being that I am an artist, I was offered an opportunity to hold painting classes for our guest. I agreed , but had no idea how! I found your video and wow! It was such a great help! I use your video as a template for my class. I am to hold my 3rd class in 3 hours and here I am in my room preparing mentally , watching your video. Again, thank you!
I really enjoyed watching this! Many virgin artists appreciate a simple painting to begin with. Confidence is so important! I'm sure that they have more difficult paint classes to choose from. Looks like a full house!
Being a paint nite instructor is really fun! There are some behind the scenes stuff that can get... well, all kinds of different things. Ultimately it’s a passion job.
I've been asked to teach a class at my local American Legion for a fund raiser for military families overseas. I am an artist and have taught small groups of military veterans various art therapy projects but Ive never done a class quite like this. Seeing the instructor in action was very helpful and informative. Thank you for posting!
I am boycotting the NFL. So my wife will be taking me to paint nights and my son will be taking me on geology projects. The wine sounds good. If only they let me smoke my pipe too.
I love this! I teach these too and, having never been to one thought I'd see how some others do it... Thanks for uploading! It's really funny, we definitely have similarities in our 'teaching' style! anyways, thanks!
I would love to do this as a teacher! I am fun and creative and love to tell jokes. I have been a public school teacher for 20+ years. You are a receptive group! More receptive than my students...I'd like to teach for you ;)...I can write my own material too!
Hey Phyllis, I am a Paintnite instructor in NYC. We use acrylic paint. I've done an event like this at my church and school functions. If you are still trying to set one up, I'd love to help you out and instruct. You can email me at jordanneprime@gmail.com Take care & God bless!
It's so abstract, the whole time I thought the bird had a "window" to the inside that it's full of eggs. I thought it was meant to be a joke. (I know birds don't have a bunch of eggs in them at one time. )
What awesome! She's going ahead of the class...no one is even looking at her...she's very distracting...she should give an indication of how far from the canvas side and bottom using her fingers to measure for placement...dropping paint on the floor...very distracting...when teaching a class such as this it shouldn't take away from the relaxing aspect ...her vibe ...energy reflects as being rushed...half hazard...more annoying then anything...
If you have ever been to a paint party at a facility the whole thing is timed. So to a certain degree it is rushed. If you were doing a party like this at home you can take as long as you want, but at a facility it is timed and by the way the same thing happens some people don't pay any real attention to the instructions either.
What would you charge for a party of 30 people? I need help coming up with a price to do a paint tutorial. The only thing I am providing is my time and my paint brushes. They are buying paint and canvases.
Butch westray ,,U have to remember that your on a time frame,,2hrs,,is not long at all for someone that's never painted before,,,Yes my first class ,I thought the Instructor was going to fast and not much help as one on one with ur painting,,but it didn't take me long tho to catch up and at the end,,,I had a Beautiful Painting, Of course we took a little time out to snack and drink our wine,,,also music was turned on,,and a lot of the women got up and danced to that one song,,,I promise U,,,,You will definitely enjoy it and can't wait to go back again
It's more of a drinking night, with a focus on creating a fast, complete painting as opposed to an informative painting "class." These guests don't really care if they learn anything, they just want to have a good time and go home feeling they've accomplished something creative.
It’s only simple if you want it to be simple! 😊 The canvas and paints provided are pretty good quality. You are free to paint a masterpiece, if you’ve got the talent! The instructors are extremely friendly, talented, and helpful. That, in itself is worth the 20 odd bucks! I LOVE paint night!
This is not so much a painting "class" as it is a drinking night with the beginner guests getting to be creative and have fun. It's supposed to be extra simple.
to much talking and theres no music to paint too,, and really enjoy, keep it simple, ya gotta make it so they wanna come back, not like a cookie cutter, boring and dull, i guess if your drinking it numbs the brain
People want to talk to their friends too. Two hours? The painting is too simple. Anyone could copy it without her CONSTANTLY narrating. I’d pay $45 For earplugs.
Day Light ,,This is to have fun,,Your not in a Art Class, It would b really boring with nobody not saying anything.,So if u don't like a lot of noise,,laughter, and fun,,then u might should stay home,,,lol

I love seeing the JOY of painting spread like this. The democratization of the process is awesome!!!
I enjoyed her personality... warm and friendly. She definitely made it a fun night.
Thank you for uploading. I love the little comment at the end about not caring what yours looks like so much. I needed that. Thanks again!

you were great in this video fun and helpful and made the crowd feel comfortable and free which is what art is about. loved it!
As a paint nite instructor in training this was so awesome to see! Definitely helped me
I agree!!

Very helpful! I feel more ready to teach now. Thanks!
Thank you for this video! I used it to quell some boredom durning the pandemic and love the painting I came up with
i think a little background music will help relax the class, but thats just my opinion. but this looks fun!
A headset microphone would be awesome for large groups.

wonderful wonderful teacher
...the shrill voice and the forced enthusiasm of the "entertainer" and the docility of the crowd... a relevant slice of American life....
I did my first training with paint nite last night! This is helpful
This woman is awesome!

what type of paint is that? acrylic or oil?
+Cecile Edwards acrylic :) It tends to dry faster than oils.
Thanks!
No problem ^u^
I HAD SUCH A GREAT TIME
pshh, newbies, i see smell, i hear color and i taste sound.
It would be nice if the hostess or MC of the fun night were to use more professional art terminology.

that's too simple of a painting for the $'s spent. It could be a landscape and be more interesting.
You're allowed to choose the painting you want when you buy the tickets. They all chose that specific painting.
I think it's a refreshing change.

You'd think, but I also teach classes and the amount of people who literally can't paint even a solid background without instruction is mind boggling.

looks fun
No offense but a little to much talking, for me.
