Legato organ playing doesn't get better than this. And then the tasteful and precise phrasing. But then SO together in an acoustivally very "wet" hall. Bravo Herr Kollege dort in Bruges!! Et merci de l'inspiration que j'ai bien reçue de très loin ici en Utah aux É-U. And people: the organ accompaniment is a reduction of M's original scoring for full orchestra. ""Accompaniment is the wrong word, however. Instruments and voices are equal partners and *collaborative* musicians all in their own right. Orchestra scoring "continues," surges, soars, both gives and takes leadership to/from the choir--as M so ably built that into the structure and notes. This is not the time for the organ to just be a good little boy..seen and not heard. Nice little flutes and strings, or else. Invisible. So there folks! Somebody gots organist's back for once!
Brilliantly payed, the organist is a genius. Well sung, you have made my day
Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich... Lasst uns jeden Abend für Frieden beten!
Thank God for talents.
This washes away the grime of the worldliness
Wunderbar. Ich liebe dieses Werk von ganzem Herzen. Bin so dankbar für diese schöne Interpretation
Toll gesungen und gut vom Organisten gespielt!
Organ is much too loud, should be soft flutes and/or strings!
Bob Dahl I agree cannot enjoy the choir very much! Another choir from Paris Dirigent Herrewege is much better!
The organ is not too loud! There is a good balance between organ & choir.
Could also be suboptimal recording. Choir sounds a little far away, maybe due to mic positioning. But it's still ok for me.
