I'm so glad I started collecting since day one because these are really sad and cheap. They look legitimately like knock offs and it makes me feel bad for anyone who missed the first waves and either have to pay a ton on ebay or settle for these. Mattel would have made so much money and so many people happy if they rereleased them properly, new packaging but same original dolls.
+The Doll Circle I have ALOT of monster high dolls all are wave 1 dolls the 1st ones to come out .... Do you know if it hurts the cost if I would take them out of the box and put them on display in my doll cabinet I have and just keep the boxes in good shape ?? Or better to just keep them in boxes ??? Thank you
TheCapcom1996 It does dampen the value of them if you take them out of the box, but not by much. I was 13 when they came out and started collecting them back then, but my mom taught me from a young age to take great care of all my dolls so I put the boxes into a storage box and I took the dolls out to display and to play with from time to time but I always brushed their hair and made sure I had all their accessories and pets and that they stayed looking like they were new. So if you really want to take them out to display them I say definitely do what you want to and yes keep the boxes in storage but keep them in good condition in case you do ever want to sell them some day. I know some collectors (me) like them with their boxes because the older boxes were soooo cool in shape and style. I used to pose them in their original artwork poses as much as I could, but with adjustments for the dolls lol
I agree with you. I could get many of them, but they are expensive. Omg, well no matter because ended up having draculaura, frankie, clawdeen, ghoulia and the most expensive dolls was lagoona. I'm not willing to get them out.
I decided to paint the Rerelease with the colors they were missing to make hem more realistic and I'm trying to get Draculauras outfit from eBay that's not printed.
I saw Draculaura, clawdeen & Frankie at the shops the other day, to be honest I think the re-realise of Draculaura's head is a bit too big for my liking but I do want the original dolls, because I don't have any original dolls, but I'm a massive doll collector I love dolls so much (mostly monster high) I have 22 dolls and I'm still collecting
My birthday is coming up, so I hope to get the 6 pack of the originals because the MH doll I have is goliope. And when I get the six pack I'm gonna fix them up to make them more like the originals. I'm gonna sew on bottons and Maybe even remake outfits. Otherwise claw-some comparison! You are so lucky to have the originals!
Really Mattel, I'm so disappointed in this draculaura. I'd rather spend 100 dollars on something awesome and I would enjoy than this one they just rereleased, I'm going to look on Amazon and try to find her though, Thanks for the comparison!! ;)

Over the years I have watched the dolls go from AWESOME detail to.....meh. Especially the re-release dolls. They look horribly cheap. I think they are rushing other products and investing in things that really aren't that good. (Like that Monster creator thing where the stuff just got stuck on. It NEVER stuck right.) Monster High has a very dedicated fan base and to release dolls like the last Draculaura, it's just them saying "hey we heard you asking for it" but we don't really care about it's quality were just going to give you this.... :P
While I managed to get the first releases of four girls, I didn't / couldn't get an original Clawdeen. It took a second wave original in order to get a derivative Clawdeen. It looks alright but there are some missing details, and her hand positions are different.
I'm watching this video a bit late but I just bought my first Monster High doll today.(Kiyomi Huanterly) I'm so happy to know other people are collectors like myself, although I'm much more into Alice in Wonderland Ever After High Dolls. I can't wait to watch more videos!
Great comparison to all of these Draculaura's!! I really do wish they kept with original colour stands/brushes, I love how they coincided with their outfts ♥ I own the second style rerelease which I'm really happy with because they're really similar with the original release~

Yay cool video. I have the original release Draculaura on my bookshelf. I kept the background inside the box but I unboxed her when I got her. I'm so glad that I got her. I also have original Frankie unboxed with part of the background I saved.
I got another Draculaura in 2012 that wasn't released alongside that version of Frankie and Clawdeen. Her box is styled like the 2nd one except she's made in China instead of Indonesia. Her bangs aren't gelled down either, and I think she looks better that way.

The second draculaura you showed has actually be re released twice once during the schools out or wave 2 and the one you hav is the other rerelease of the three original ghouls it's all very complicated
So I'm still confused. I have the second type of box, but the inside contents are still a bit different than yours; ordered differently...it says 2011 on the box, and it's advertising the 2012 MH DVD on the back next to the 4 other original dolls.
I like seeing the comparison especially since my daughter and I recently got into Monster High last year. I agree, I'm a little or a lot disappointed with the new Draculaura. The outfit stinks and I'm not impress with her head either it looks different. I also like that they came with all the accessories :(

I found the Original Ghouls Draculaura doll at Target for $20, along with the other single-carded re-releases. I got to buy Draculaura, because she is my most favorite MH character. Sure, the 2015 re-issues stink, but I don't seem to care. I still like them.

Not like trying to cause any hate, but I think the most recent release of Draculaura is not great because of how big the original originals have gotten. I mean I know it's unfair to the people who didn't have a chance to get them, but what about the people that spent hundreds of dollars collecting the originals, just to have the exact same doll released, I mean i get what you guys are saying, and I semi agree, but yeah..

What should I do? I payed for them with my own money (not my parents’) and it kinda feels bad to just get rid of them. I even have their diaries and brushes, everythiiiiing! What should I do?

It's no wonder why some of the first wave dolls look a little off whenever i search for them online. Their faces/head shapes are different! XD the original mold/fabrics of their dolls look better. Even draculaura's original face had a more sultry and sinister look compared to the re-release's more friendlier face. But i will say that the re-release still looks better than the rebooted 2016 version.
I was really disappointed when the new draculaura came out. My first monster high dolls was a second hand early draculaura (she was so early she had the spotted arm defect!). And since I didn't have everything with my Draculaura from back in the day (I literally had to re see her sleeves on because the friend I got it from chopped them off, lost her pet and umbrella) I was hoping to get a complete version. Now a few years after the final re release I've got 3 basic draculuras (including my original who I had to rebody because her legs snaped, a later version but still early draculaura that has slightly closer eyes, and my favourite the second release which I have the boots for (my other dracs don't have boots and it's the same price as a new draculaura doll for boot replacement online))!! Idk if you've done a video comparing the other releases of the other characters but I've noticed that the cleo re release has different black lace lining, shoes & head band just shimmery gold (no paint), and she's missing the dangling mummy wrap from her arm. I just did not (and still dont) like the re releases of the dolls. Over the past few years I've just being trying to collect the original 1st & 2nd wave dolls (at this point I've got almost all the wave 1 dolls except clawdeen because I can't find her out of box with crescent and her socks that's not load of money lol).
That seems sad, I only found about about MH in about 2013 because of a friend, and I missed it so I was looking forward to that, but I ended up getting the new Cleo (re-re-release). Idk about the quality of that I just got it since I dont have a Cleo doll. Wish the new ones came with the diary and pets
mm i think mattel made 4 different sets of the originals. i have the second one that you have but later they release another one with more big rounded eyes that looks very weird. Its the same box from the second one the only thing that change is the faceup. anyway XD .. i love your channel! ;)

I missed out on the first wave but I was around when they re-released them the first time but I couldn't find any of them in stores, where I live the stores sucked back then. Now I can find all the new dolls but back then all my stores had were skull shores Ghoulia... When I first saw the new re-releases I was excited but then I realized how low quality they are now. Frankie looks alright but Draculaura looks so bad.
you might think I'm weird but I prefer the 2nd release to the original I think her face looks much prettier but I really dislike the 3rd release its terrible. xx

Most of the basic wave 1 dolls, well the characters actually, were patented between 2005-08 but their dolls were not released until mid-late 2010

I was upset that the one I got. Wasn't in her original outfit. I would of loved to get that one.

I have an original Draculaura doll from a sleepover set. I think the new dolls look really cheap.

I missed out on the first wave but I was around when they re-released them the first time but I couldn't find any of them in stores, where I live the stores sucked back then. Now I can find all the new dolls but back then all my stores had were skull shores Ghoulia... When I first saw the new re-releases I was excited but then I realized how low quality they are now. Frankie looks alright but Draculaura looks so bad.
How much is that stuff my granddaughter wants it
