Black Phantom is by far my favorite fragrance that I own...and has garnered more than just compliments. I recommend it too ☺
masterpiece
I really didn't like it that much, I found it a weirder and less alluring vanilla, not dark at all, not enough booze. Dark Lord is masterful. I think Alberto Morillas is a genius and it took real artistry to make Dark Lord. Straight to Heaven is the one you wear in public though. I guess Black Phantom is at least more interesting than Absolute Aphrodesiac by Initio, but Luna Rossa Black despite not really being a vanilla is my favourite vanilla like fragrance. Ha! I didn't expect number 3 to be AA. Well, I guess she really likes those vanilla ones, idk I as a guy just personally didn't like Black Phantom or Absolute Aphrodesiac that much especially not for me anyway, not as vanilla. I think there may be much better vanillas out there. I kinda like Armani Code EDP but it's not super vanilla forward, also not date night type.

Wow, I ordered a decant of Parfums De Marly Herod yesterday. It was cold, so I thought it would be a good fragrance to sample . I fell in love with Tobacco Vanille TF, and people compare Herod to it. In fact I have heard that Herod is a better version and more wearable version of it. Also the full size bottle of Herod is cheaper than Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. The cheapest price I saw for a legit bottle online was $128.00

@@livinglife3230 I would say similar but different, if that makes sense! Tobacco is prominent in both, i find Herod a bit sweeter and Side Effect has a hint of rum, which is really nice. I think Side effect is better in the dry down, its not overpowering and you know its there and every so often you get lovley wafts of tobacoo, vanilla and rum. Can't go wrong with either though!

My top three fragrances this winter have been Papillon Artisan Perfumes 'Salome', Papillon Artisan Perfumes 'Bengale Rouge', and Rania J 'Ambre Loup'. At the moment, Papillon Artisan Perfumes is my favorite house.
I just received a sample batch with these included. Herod and Black Phantom i just can't stand. Only PDM i like a little, but not enough to wear, is Layton. I expected more from PDM. Absolute Aphrodisiac is stunning, i can't stop smelling it! Kinda like Code Profumo, but niche quality, much more subtle, refined and complex. By far my favorite from this batch!

Got a black phantom sample with one of my Kilian fragrances and I'm so in love with it. I got so many compliments and it was only a sample. Now I need to get my hands on that bottle! They're so expensive, but definitely worthy.

As a newcomer to the fragrance game, and not living near any stores I've actually gone out on a limb blind buying a few of your recommendations. You've been bang on each time. I like that you choose frags that have something different, a bit of complexity, depth and character.
