Cool to see the CH1 Accord Type R mentioned, most of the world dont seem to know it exists, never thought I'd ever see any in New Zealand but I was lucky enough to see 2 of them in the Wellington region
I had one in Nelson for 6 years. It was my baby, stock standard, slightly lowered and no wing. Looked and drove amazing. Moved to Wellington and it got stolen after 6 weeks 😢

Killer video man! I imported my Milano Red CL1 Euro R into Australia last year. Truly a beast to drive and a car I will try to hold onto for as long as I can. Would like to take a CL7 for a spin though!
Hey!) If not a secret, how much you paid for Milano red in Japan? What was a condition? Thinking to get one as well. I had CH9 with Cl1 gearbox many years ago, now I want Cl1
@@dmitrypiotrovskiy2518 I've seen most CL1 Euro Rs going for about $18k - 20k AUD if you import through a broker, and about $22k - $25k if you import or buy through a dealership. Mine was done through a dealership that bulk imported cars over from Japan so I paid about $24k for Milano Red.
Thanks for the vid mate, I really miss my CL1 after watching this, it was such a great handling car with the double wishbones all round and you could use all its performance on NZ roads

Nice video mate! Got a CL7 Euro R myself. However, they have double wishbone suspension in both front and back. That is what Ichishima San (founder of Spoon Sports), said made the Euro R the best Honda chassis of all time
„These are some special cars man…“ that summed it up in a very straightforward manner. The only thing is that they are just nowhere to be found anymore.
I really want to daily drive an CL1 Type R, it is just a masterpiece, H22, 5 speed, VTEC goodness what more could you ask for, Im not sure does a Type R have cruise control?
Would love to see you drive a CH1. I currently have 4 CL1s (3 for spares) and 2 CH1s. One of my CH1s I've had 10 years now, high comp engine etc. The CL1 drives great, but the CH1s even better. Faster, lighter, wider track, fantastic power steering instead of the CL1s troublesome and soulless EPS system...trust me you think the CL7 is good, wait until you try a CH1, especially a modified one.
The difference is that the cl1 used the prelude/accord big engine back then. The cl7 uses the civic type r engine. It's like if they put a b18 in the cl1, It would not feel right. If the cl7 had a k24a it would of been perfect!!
Have always been a fan of the h22a. Had one in each of my honda preludes. One had a longer geared accord trans and the other had the t2 transmission with lsd
Good video. I had an auto LEV version of the CL years ago which was still a good car and a h22a prelude that went like the clappers too. We used to play a game on what hills you could go up at 50k in 5th gear, the h22a would surprisingly do extremely well haha
How about a Frankenstein K24A3 engine block / K20A (High Performance) cylinder head combination w/ custom ECU remap? Should be good for 190kW / 240Nm +?!
Great video as always Kiwi! Been wondering ... If you would compare this CL1 vs your previous CL9 you've modified if terms of torque ( not considering the power delivery since the CL9 didn't had a LSD ) was it any different or similar ?
Epic video. Might have to snag up an accord.. As long as it doesn't get stolen as soon as I park it somewhere lol. Where's the road at the end? Looks epic
