The absolute best video for me. I am active duty ARMY and we use Sit Ups as part of our physical assessment test. I’ve always been one to burn out my hip flexors before my abs would even be engaged. I always knew I was doing something wrong but didn’t know the difference
I know. I just keep doing the low back pain routine with 10 million views (even though my low back pain has been long gone) and the anterior pelvic tilt fix. Not sure what else to do haha.
Dude same, I thought I had good core strength and Poot leg strength because my legs were tiring before my abs, now I know different . What a waste of time. lol
I'm late to the party, but this is probably the most well thought out and informative video on this subject of all time. I have been to numerous physiotherapists who might have each explained or recommended parts of this video in isolation, but without the clarity and ability to really paint the big picture at the same time. I learned that I have missed the point of many things, but also that they can be fixed with only minor tweaks. Amazing.
Cause most trainer just became trainers cause they worked out and eventually looked good. Really really good trainers are those that have degrees in this like sports science and the like.
Touched almost every mistake I've been making like breathing poorly and bloated lower abs. I really had troubles with abs workouts especially the full sit ups without support, I'll start working on them perfectly. Thanks a lot Jeff
I noticed the weak abs after I had open heart surgery . I figured I would loose my bench but it was easier to get back than my dead lift and squats. I seen this video while I was searching for core and abs training exercises. Great stuff thank you. 7 months into recovery and making progress your videos truly help.
You should feel great - Jeff is giving us this content for free to better ourselves and constantly improve ourselves when we think we’re doing everything right
I've been training for over 3 years now and have become a great athlete but more like a gym bro with a great physique. But everything that Jeff brought up in this video made me realise that I have weak abs and aren't training them frequently enough for their true potential, so today I will change that and make them stronger than ever, thank you Jeff for this analysis.
When I first started doing any kind of abs exercises, I used to do the same mistake of putting all the pressure on the lower back. I wondered why this was the case. But thankfully I was able to find the right solution in time before I could get myself injured.
that tip on shutting down the hip flexors by putting the feet OVER something instead of under something blew my mind, I can't wait to try it. Not going to do it on the floor here at work, not with all the coronas everywhere, its 2020 n all, I must have missed this video 2 years ago. I was going through some major depression in 2018 though so yeah. Always love your videos, I always learn something.
Ok, I fail like 80% of these. Can you make a video on how to correct these weaknesses ? I already have the abb workout app but I can’t complete the workouts.
Thank you Jeff! This is among the most useful videos on the subject of abs. Jeff’s knowledge of his subject is nothing short of a mastery! He deserves to be called ‘Dr Jeff’!
Great info...will incorporate this into my ab workout. I especially like the fifth ab-check with the cable...but all of these pointers are great. Will never apologize for being the one guy who spends the most time in the ab room. Strong abs benefit every aspect of your workout regimen. I gained my first functional (not just for show) 6-pack at 51 y/o...almost 53 now with an 8-pack, even with lifelong rheumatoid arthritis, 24/7 mind-numbing pain, and replaced shoulders AND hips. Yet I make it (sometimes crawling) to the gym 6 days/week and I humbly look and feel incredible, regardless of the adversity with which I’ve been dealt. Don’t ever say, “I can’t.”
Okay, I've been doing abs the wrong way this whole time! No wonder my lower and mid back have been hurting me! Thank you for making this video! Question, how do you correctly lift the under butt and keep the hamstrings from getting too big? This is my main focus right now. I have lost 85lbs, and trying to regain my strength.
This just helped me identify weakness in the form of some of my ab routines. I'd previously just thought that my legs were weak and getting tired first, instead it seems my form on some exercises is weak and I've been doing them incorrectly. Time to get back to basics.

I use these exercises on a regular basis to check if I neglect muscles or muscle groups. Damn easy to let your body compensate the wrong way. Thank you Jeff!
Wow.
I can rate this as my fav info because of its straight to the point knowledge.
I'll do more quality sit-up to strengthen my abs.
The absolute best video for me. I am active duty ARMY and we use Sit Ups as part of our physical assessment test. I’ve always been one to burn out my hip flexors before my abs would even be engaged. I always knew I was doing something wrong but didn’t know the difference
Not only motivation but also education. That's why I'm here. Thanks Jeff!
This is great for correcting your posture as well. 👌
Ok.. my abs are really weak.... 😭😭
same ahahahahah
lmao
I know. I just keep doing the low back pain routine with 10 million views (even though my low back pain has been long gone) and the anterior pelvic tilt fix. Not sure what else to do haha.
Get in the gym then! Mine are weak too. That's why I'm training them.
@Nathan unknown ahaahha wth xd
I spent all of last year training my hip flexors instead of my abs in the process of trying to fix my APT. FML
Don't forget to stretch your lower back and as well strengthen your ass haha
How did that worked out? Did you managed to fix it?
Dude same, I thought I had good core strength and Poot leg strength because my legs were tiring before my abs, now I know different . What a waste of time. lol
Uggg I have this same problem and its so frustrating. I don't feel any pain in my abs but my legs burn like hell. I still don't know what to do
@@cuac5869 what workouts do you do? How do you minimize it? I'm lost and don't know what to do and I feel discouraged
I used to have some of these problems, but a few times of Jeff's ab workouts and they have solved themselves
Why would someone give this factual well presented information the thumbs down 👎🏻 ridiculous
The whole time Im like “Yes Sensei, Jeff”
Even trying to bloat jeff still looks ripped
You know I really thought I had a strong core, guess I have all red flags
I'm late to the party, but this is probably the most well thought out and informative video on this subject of all time. I have been to numerous physiotherapists who might have each explained or recommended parts of this video in isolation, but without the clarity and ability to really paint the big picture at the same time.
I learned that I have missed the point of many things, but also that they can be fixed with only minor tweaks. Amazing.
It’s crazy how much free content u have and how much all of it works 💯 u a real one
You need to teach a class...i swear personal trainers these days dont even know the basics
Cause most trainer just became trainers cause they worked out and eventually looked good. Really really good trainers are those that have degrees in this like sports science and the like.
King of fitness , would love this guy to PT me , I know I would learn so much from him!
I never understood why my legs always got sore first from sit ups now I do! Thanks Jeff ! U legend! #senseijeff
The dislikes were from people with all 5 red flags
Will Kuopus people like this should like this 😂
The comment under this is litteraly a guy saying "i have all red flags..."
Extreme Destroyer lol weak fool
Jk
@@withku for me, i have none of the red flags
Watch a video here, realize you have been doing something wrong for 30 years. Feel terrible about self.
You should feel great - Jeff is giving us this content for free to better ourselves and constantly improve ourselves when we think we’re doing everything right
Now you know and now you can get RIPT
Always super helpful, Jeff! I feel like I learn more from you than I ever did in my college classes XD.
I wish other physical therapists would teach what you do. Your knowledge and information is fabulous.
Jeff: "Are you sticking your feet under somethi...."
Me: Pfft, what do you know Jeff?
Jeff: "....I know who you are."
Me: shoot...
Yo! His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms weak, abs weak, everyting is weak man.
Where's the spaghetti??
Oh! There goes *spaghetti*
Oskar Thompson 😂😂😂😂
*0/10* so disappointed in the lack of spaghetti in this comment
@@lalylaly27 he's the spaghetti
Jeff: "you can't talk to me until I can see your neck veins"
When I first started doing any kind of abs exercises, I used to do the same mistake of putting all the pressure on the lower back. I wondered why this was the case. But thankfully I was able to find the right solution in time before I could get myself injured.
that tip on shutting down the hip flexors by putting the feet OVER something instead of under something blew my mind, I can't wait to try it. Not going to do it on the floor here at work, not with all the coronas everywhere, its 2020 n all, I must have missed this video 2 years ago. I was going through some major depression in 2018 though so yeah. Always love your videos, I always learn something.
"half of my body weight"
Boi u crazy
More perfect Workouts!!!
Ok, I fail like 80% of these. Can you make a video on how to correct these weaknesses ? I already have the abb workout app but I can’t complete the workouts.
Big Dank Beans the problem is by hip flexors take over in place of my abs and it ends up hurting my back instead of my abs getting any work
Thank you Jeff!
First I had anterior pelvic tilt then weak glutes and now I have week abs 😭
Work on em!!! Keep grinding dude
I know this is old, but isn't anterior pelvic tilt caused by weak glutes and weak abs?
Jeff’s abs train him
This made me laugh out loud XD
Cimfan heleen glad I could brighten your day just a little bit 😊
Zlatan?
Okay, I've been doing abs the wrong way this whole time! No wonder my lower and mid back have been hurting me! Thank you for making this video! Question, how do you correctly lift the under butt and keep the hamstrings from getting too big? This is my main focus right now. I have lost 85lbs, and trying to regain my strength.
This guy is so kind to share his genius with the world
I just woke up with SCI joint pain and this video came up. Your timings are godsent Jeff! Much appreciation dude!
Jeff has being giving Christmas gifts 365 days of the year
Didn't even watch the entire video and hit like.
#InJeffWeTrust
Bad habit bro ..
i read an article about jeff cavaliere and he said that jeff nutritional advice is wrong
All u have to do is pick up a dumbbell half of your body weight.. thanks for making me feel weak af
Jeff is such a GEM 💎 (gym). Bro been doing this for years. Love this dude.
This just helped me identify weakness in the form of some of my ab routines. I'd previously just thought that my legs were weak and getting tired first, instead it seems my form on some exercises is weak and I've been doing them incorrectly. Time to get back to basics.
