  • The Orange Order & Protestant Unionist Loyalist Community should be very Proud of themselves for the way in which they behaved on the walk down the Crumlin Road on their way to the July 12th Celebrations.
    While passing those who want to try & erase the P.U.L communities Proud Culture, they held their heads high.
    There is those within the media that wanted PUL members to cause trouble. Rubbing their hands in the hope of a story. Every parade they point cameras at the PUL community & even though Sectarian Republicans are burning & wrecking, they then report how it was a contentious parade, forgetting to mention in their reports that Republican Violence has made it contentious.
    Reporters who have bought into the Romantic Struggle Story fed to them by the Republican PR machine for years. Reporters who wait, with hands out hoping for a little bit more, on Gerry or another Sectarian Killer to give them a scoop. A scoop that will no doubt pour scorn on the PUL community. All the crimes of SF IRA forgot about.
    Today they didnt get their story.
    Also, the PUL community hope that the small number of protesters who came out to appose the parade will eventually come to understand that we mean them no harm.

    Thank you for uploading this inspiring video as someone who has paraded in Rossnowlagh in tha south its a pity that so called republicans dont show our culture the same respect as is shown in Rossnowlagh long may we show our pride in our culture and history and continue to show Britishness in this 100th year of the signing of the covenent No Surrender then No Surrender now No Surrender Ever

    Good Job! Washington was even moved to say that if the cause was lost everywhere else he would take a last stand among the Scots-Irish of his native Virginia.
    The truth still carries on.

    I agree with u our politicians have always had their own interests at heart.But logically how do the lodges and bands get from ligoniel and back without passing a Catholic area?My ma told me that Catholics used to go and watch the 12th years ago but all that changed when the troubles started

    On Saturday last Catholics and protestants walked together in celebration of life and against abortion in Belfast. It's necessary to overcome sectarianism.

  • @soulhoosier
    @soulhoosier 12 років тому

    I again stand corrected. Belfast is a crowded city on a crowded island and I have no concept of the geography of the town or parade. Here in the states if we don't like the neighborhood, we just pack up a truck and move to a nearby town or neighborhood where many many houses are for sale or rent at very cheap prices. You should consider coming here. It's quite uncrowded.

    When Protestants are allowed to join the Knights of Columbus, Opus Dei, the club of Rome, the knights of Malta and the myriad of other ROMAN fraternities then we ll consider it. Until then- don t call us, we ll call you..

    I used to own being a bigot until through many years of research and discovery I found I had just cause. After meeting with and getting to know some of the people in Eire who were child slaves in Romes / Irish prison camps, I realised I cared more about them than any TAL head on the internet. It s great the old projection thing you get up to, with no real or perceived idea of what the people of Ireland endured at the hands of "foreigners" that you all welcomed and gave great esteem to.

    robbo2186 whats wrong with them wanting it back? Good question robbo, but I do recall several referendums where in the 26 counties they voted to let others run it for them, so it actually begs the question, do they want it at all?

    I I stand corrected.sir. We certainly have a big problem with hate and bigotry here in the USA and I am not qualified to criticize Northern Irish when we have more hate and prejudice here. Having said that though, I'd welcome Irish Catholics as neighbors with open arms.

    Plenty of Prods were burnt out of everywhere. 1641, New Ross Scullabogue. France 1685, Europe (In general) 16th Century. Thousands killed, no-one squealed, especially the prejudicial Americans.

    I have lots of protestant friends who choose not to go out on the 12th because they don't want to join in this sectarian culture (fair play i think). Catholics have been going on holiday/ or being trapped in their houses every year. If they want to march march around the field and leave children at home they shouldn't be forced into bitterness. I'm proud to say my kids go to an integrated school, these people should be ashamed!

    I guess it's just kind of hard for me to imagine waking up one morning to the sound of drums, fifes, marching feet and chanting, and then seeing hundreds or maybe thousands of men dressed in really goofy uniforms marching through my neighborhood carrying banners celebrating the death of my forefathers. As a Protestant American the custom seems entirely barbaric.

    • @tjclarke1892
      @tjclarke1892 11 місяців тому

      Banners celebrating the deaths of whos forefathers? The banners dont celebrate the death of anyone. The banners carry images of Ulster Protestant leaders and folk heroes from throughout time.
      If you want to play that game then fun story- the Irish Gaelic Atheltic Association name clubs to celebrate the deaths of protestants forefathers.

    Interesting point. If the Brits have to give up Northern Ireland, then I guess the USA should give up Hawaii, Alaska , Texas (taken from Mexico) California (Mexico) Arizona, New Mexico, Nevada, most of Colorada and Utah (back to Mexico) and then maybe let the Brits and Spanish take Florida back. Give the rest back to the Indians and let the buffalo roam again.

    I am refering to the housing discrimination, voter suppression, and employment discrimination perpetrated by protestants against catholics as causing the troubles which lasted between the 1960's until 1998. You are refering to the origins of the ethnic conflict. They are not the same. As for my own people, I'm not sure who you are refering to. I am spanish, portugese and irish. None of my ancestors lived under roman rule. Could you please clarify what you are talking about with these crimes?

    There are single identity groups that meet to share there beliefs and customs, few would have the political clout of the OO. The OO is defined more by anti-catholic hatred and maintaining the perceived status of superiority (working class PUL communities are the most disadvantaged in Europe) than it is by Protestantism.
    The 'separate but equal' notion doesn't hold any water, not since the civil rights movement of the 60's. The AoH is purely religious and wouldn't march where their not wanted.

    Mr Lancaster, that is all very hush, hush. We do not talk about, write poetry or songs about our part in the failed destruction of our own country. We say Up the ra and give glory to them. We sacrificed our young ones and in some cases ordered them to starve to death. We murdered more of the people we were freeing than our enemies, But please do nt despair. Gerry and Marty are swaddled in Armani, working for her majesty and emancipated form poverty. Now ask yourself..Who was duped..

    That presbytarian guy fron Illinois, can't you read this is not a nationalist neighborhood they are walking through the only part of the nationalists area they touch is when they go past the shops which are used by both catholics and protestants.If the nationalists just whent about there business instead of going out of their way to be offended there would be no trouble. That's an idea instead of trying to stop the prods from enjoying their day just stay away and make the day trouble free.

    Im a protestant from Northern Ireland and I must say that the things mentioned in this video are absolute bullshit. Parading a 'victory over Catholicism' parade through a catholic area is a stupid idea. This should be common sense to anyone! But loyalists do not wish to change the parade routes to accommodate for catholic communities because of 'tradition'. Tradition!? what a pile of out-dated shit. If we are ever to see peace in this country, a bit of respect for each other's culture is needed.

    Unfortunately for all the talk about the Irish and music it would be a bloody grand day to be sure if any of us actually seen or heard them play-well anything. No, that s not the style of the NI catholics, they prefer black balaclava s, coffins, people starved to death, martyrs.. that kind of thing..Pretty much all things morbid. No colour, no pageantry, no music. OI and word up hommie..My mother comes from Ardoyne and I can assure you there are both Protestants and Romans that live there.

Word up...Sorry we do nt have magical, music, mystery beads and could nt levitate in front of said chapel. There were thousands of celebrants in front and hundred s behind that had stopped for a scheduled break. Some of them having played and or walked over an hour.
