Wow Excellent video to help new owners of Kestral ! I am trying to decide between the Applied Ballistics version and the Hornady 4 DOF version. Have you ever read about what Hornady figured out about the 4th Degree of Freedom that they use for calculations?
I've always been curious about adjusting your MV based on shooting results. In the example you gave, you have like 31.5m of hold. you say the impact was 1/2m low so you adjust your impact data to match the results. it tells you that your calculated MV then is different and you apply that data point which then changes your entire ballistic table. What if your impact was 1/2m low because of something else? Maybe you got buck fever (I know, you should be able to call your hits and misses or pulls). Maybe there was a downdraft you didn't see. Maybe your distance isn't precise. Maybe your wind call down range is off a bit. Maybe some mirage moved your POA slightly over 1200yds. So my question is how to you know to confidently change your MV to the calculated value rather than dismissing it as simply a 1/2m miss for other reasons? I assume you're not shooting a five shot group to confirm. And even with that it only confirms a few things (no shooter error, consistent wind, etc) but doesn't confirm that your distance was off or the wind call was off. How do you decide? Thanks.
Damn, 5 years and nobody answered. Carry a chronograph if you bought the bullets. If you reloaded the cartridge, make sure you weighed the bullet and grains 100% every single time after you chrono the first group. This way you can possibly ever have doubt in your made rounds.
Hey I notice that you said you shoot a 300 win mag with 210gr, could you share your recipe on the load. I've been shooting 210gr with 70.5gr of 4831SC, with nosler trophies
It depends on what your scope turrets say for example it might say 1 click is 1 MOA or 1 click it 1/4 MOA depends on your scope. If it happens to be 1 MOA per click then yes you would do 31 clicks UP.

This helped to reduce my fears and concerns. More confident in buying one and learning to use it now.

Not that I can see. It looks like the ATN is set up to Bluetooth to their proprietary App.
