Do you think it would be possible for it to play a new random episode from The beginning each time it is rebooted? As it looks from this video it will just resume where you left off?
Where did you get this? Because I plan on having a Simpsons Treehouse of Horror themed birthday next year for my 30th and this would definitely be a cool addition 😮😮😮
So I have build that is is diffent than yours but maybe you can still help me. Mine is more like the original but the video colors seem to be off do you think you might kno how to fix this I would show a picture but i dont see an add image button. basically the pi boots up to a blue tint screen videos play well but after running sudo rasp-gpio 7 a2 and doing the same for gpio 8. that fixes the blue tint on the screen although tried to put in boot config.txt and even made a script to run on boot as well neither seem to be a perm fix for blue tint. on another note the video quality is good but colors seem to be off like i used The Office seasons 1-9 instead of simpsons and on the peoples faces in the episodes seem to have a sort of either grayscaling or light green color that is mostly present on the faces where light would reflect off of. Do you happen to have a fix for either of these?
I'm not sure if I can help with this. If I am following your comment right, it sounds like you have pinned it down to a software issue instead of a hardware issue (?). Are you saying you can run the line manually and it fixes the blue, but it won't allow you to just insert that same line into the config.txt to run at boot?
Could you please help? Im a windows user and have downloaded the ffmpeg and am stuck. the build say to download the script, im just not sure how to do that. not to familiar with coding. please help!
Thanks :) The hdmi only made it harder in the sense that... 1) going into it I didn't know if it would even work 2) I didn't know how I would turn off the backlight 3) The original model no longer worked even when scaled up (see pic at 1:57 followed be the fusion 360 re-modeling montage) 4) I knew nothing about getting the video window to "fit" the opening I had created. All that being said... I already went through all those trials and pains so you won't have to ;) Between the original guide by Bubba447, and the modifications that I lay out in the description on thingiverse, it should go much smoother for you than it did for me. ...but if you get into and have questions, I will try to answer them.

have you tried another device with casting if that's possible. if not, how do you show the Simpsons tv onto the tv display. for the audion amp, did you use adafruit audio amplifier or another device. Also when you had this working and using it for a long time. was there any heating issues or did you include a heating fan to reduce the heat.

If I recall, the original code in the Bubba447 build worked with this setup. They both use the same pin for PWM audio. If you are having any audio issues, be sure to connect A- to Ground and also add a capacitor between A+ and A-. The audio will work without the capacitor, but will sound very "tinny". The cap really improves the audio quality. You might also find some useful info in this instructable written by H5Labs. There are some differences in the build by he has written a very detailed guide that might have some answers. www.instructables.com/The-Simpsons-TV-35-Screen-Version/
@@mlab-3dprintshop559 Seems it should still work even if only using one channel. I would check the "Audio Enable" section in that instructable I linked above, and make sure you have the proper code in the two configuration files.

Hi there, I am building the original Simpson tv with the original screen. I followed all the steps including installing omxplayer which was a pain because it won’t install following the procedure on the original guide. Instead you have to compile it yourself. Anyways, the issue I’m having after I transfer all the videos to the pi and reboot to test is that the screen goes blue for a few seconds then black and stays black. If I press the power button, I can see the command prompt for a second then the screen goes black. If I press and hold the power button, I can see the same screen with the command prompt but no videos or audio. Once I release the button, the screen goes back to black. It appears once the pi boots, it goes straight to the OS but never plays the videos. I have followed the guide step by step three times and checked all the electronics but I’ve been unsuccessful. Any suggestion ? Thanks in advance.
I wish I could give you some advice on this, but I have no experience using the TFT screen in the original build. When I went to build the TV, these screens could not be found anywhere. This was the reason I went down the path of re-designing one to fit an HDMI screen. Maybe someone else can answer your question. I would recommend posing the question on the original reddit post by bubba... www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/p9lasb/i_designed_and_printed_a_working_simpsons_tv/ It can be difficult to weed through the comments on reddit (especially on a thread this busy), but you may find your answer there.
