agreed! carl is so underated! was saying this to someone just the other day! yeah they were epic together, the libs are still my fave band in all honesty.. to this day. but.. carl is amazing!
its sad this song awsome but sad u can see how much they miss eachother by the way they both sing it with so much emotion weather pete or carl sings it accousticly it fucking rocks!
sorry, i didnt mean to sound bitter. its just that songwritings cathartic to some people, and it seems sometimes that its the clearest way to talk, and the only way some people will listen.
oh piss off.. carl is so underated its untrue!! does my head in people saying its all pete and carls crap... erm no.. he wrote the songs with pete, he sung just as much as pete, and his guitar skills are epic! so.. do one! thanks!
No, you've got it the wrong way round, just shut me up and blamed it on the brown" now is "So, I got it the wrong way around? If I cut you out it’s because I blamed it on the brown", "You tried to pull the wool, I wasn't feeling too clever. And you take all that they're lending Until you needed mending" now is: "You could’ve pulled the wool, I wasn’t feeling to clever You see if you take all that we’re lending,It doesnt need any mending now."
Good comparison, I think Pete, like john is the more poetic idealist, whilst i think Carl can write the more catchy riffs with more mass appeal like mcartney did. I mean hey jude is no imagine, but is the more catchy tune. All in all i think the highs are higher with petes talent but the lows are lower. (again just like John)
You could definitely say that. In my opinion Paul&Carl are overall better rock musicians, but as artists in general I think Pete&John are more talented. Which is the better then? I honestly can't tell..
@desasterz You are a fool if you think Carl isn't top of that list. If we want to sail the good ship Albion, we NEED Carl and Peter. Also, you mispelled Carl's surname.
i am talking at the acoustic guitar playing level. I can't fell the same armony that pete uses in his plays. The note. The small notes between one note and another. Carl just play normal. And the timing in the acoustic is not as in the electric. It must be more armonic.
"I got it the wrong way round, I blamed it on the brown" thats a really nice touch
fantastic,love carl
carl and pet were soul m8s when u find the one u know they made wonderfull music i'd love 2 see them back 2gether (one day)
Well ain't u lucky
You can see how tightly he is gripping the guitar at the end of the first chorus... pure emotion. he means every word that he is saying. beautiful.
What are you talking about. Nonsense
@@Chief_Brody He's spot on.
Still listening and crying on 2022
"if i cut you out it's because i blamed it on the brown." my heart x
kai :(
oh thats just the sound of mY HEART BREAKING INTO A THOUSAND PIECES
agreed! carl is so underated! was saying this to someone just the other day! yeah they were epic together, the libs are still my fave band in all honesty.. to this day. but.. carl is amazing!
This is amazing. Carl is fucking brilliant. I almost shed a tear because of the beauty of the song.
Love this performance from Carl. One of the most powerful acoustic sessions I've heard.
Love the heart and of course Carl's classic look and sound.
He changed the lyrics so he's talking to pete, "I got it the wrong way round, i cut you out cos I blamed it on the brown"
libertines best band...
you are my first and lonley best band that i have only had....
Still amazing
Auf jeder Beerdigung darf man sich als Verstorbener Songs wünschen.Songs die famos waren.Verdammt...das ist einer.Genial pervers...göttlich eingängig.
This is just beautiful
his solo preformances are right up there with petes. wish there was more. great stuff
together they are unreal though...perfect combination
its sad this song awsome but sad u can see how much they miss eachother by the way they both sing it with so much emotion weather pete or carl sings it accousticly it fucking rocks!
this is one of my fav videos on youtube. i always end up watching this beauty.
My heeeeart! ❤️ this song
Nice version.
I love you, Carlos 💖
Oh my god this made me cry ;_; Caaaaarlooooos
Love it Carl. Come a long way since the Jazz Bar. I blamed it on the brown Lad. Simply the best son. All the best mate.
Magnifique ★
OMG i hadnt seen this one yet! love itttttt
this version, the demo, and pete's acoustic... hold on while i sob
heavenly
I LOVE PETE! if it wasn't 4 him by now i would have never start playing guitar.
Both pete and carls versions are amazing, couldn't choose between them.
I like this song
Simply brilliant. Anybody know where I can find a tutorial for this acoustic version?
Oli Fray google carl bar at can't stand me now acoustic chords x
Damn... This is heavy.
True romantic
This is really good
the libs
I joined UA-cam just so I can like this
(I was talking to dragonfitter , great vid by the way !)
I couldn't agree more with tutuldok & flowerswhenyrdead.
He is beautiful.
well said
When people say that pete or carl is our favorite libertine would not mean that other isn't good, some people doesn't understand...
i agree
wow
good point, everyone goes on about not liking babyshambles or pete because he does/did herion
its all about the music
Oh, this stuff sounds cool acousticly even if Carl plays it alone!
It really is like choosing between John and Paul.
Carls An Amazing Performer Even On His Own.
My 2nd favourite Libertine :)
where can u find the video of that?
I wonder if people who've thumbed up nicococo's comment realize he's saying Barat's performance is crap.
correct.
Pete is my favorite libertine ❤
yes yes upload...depending on what they are :D
carl barat = libertine of choice
i agree this vid, whether the song is sung by carl or pete alone it;s fuckin rocks!
it;s bloody brilliant:)
sorry, i didnt mean to sound bitter. its just that songwritings cathartic to some people, and it seems sometimes that its the clearest way to talk, and the only way some people will listen.
@BritRock93 No I think they changed it since they released it in all the other versions it's always been brown...
if you could have either pete or carls talent which would u choose? pretty fucking hard question isnt it
Does anybody know the guitar he is playing with?
i love this fucking sad song
who's andy????
i like how he subtly changed the lyrics
Not quite sure how you can describe it as a "direct kick in petes face"
He's saying he got it the wrong way round :d ?
oh piss off.. carl is so underated its untrue!! does my head in people saying its all pete and carls crap... erm no.. he wrote the songs with pete, he sung just as much as pete, and his guitar skills are epic! so.. do one! thanks!
Who needs Pete?
I like them both.
this just fucking cuts me deep when either carl or pete plays n sings it
:'0(
"so i got it the wrong way round", actully sounds apologetic to me
this version reminds me of billy bragg
No, you've got it the wrong way round, just shut me up and blamed it on the brown" now is "So, I got it the wrong way around? If I cut you out it’s because I blamed it on the brown", "You tried to pull the wool, I wasn't feeling too clever. And you take all that they're lending Until you needed mending" now is: "You could’ve pulled the wool, I wasn’t feeling to clever You see if you take all that we’re lending,It doesnt need any mending now."
I never realised that cut me out an tyred to blame it on the brown is about heroin
did you think it was about an Indian bloke ?
This is the Libertines after all, more often than not it will be about heroin
Good comparison, I think Pete, like john is the more poetic idealist, whilst i think Carl can write the more catchy riffs with more mass appeal like mcartney did. I mean hey jude is no imagine, but is the more catchy tune.
All in all i think the highs are higher with petes talent but the lows are lower. (again just like John)
i couldn't have put it better
You could definitely say that. In my opinion Paul&Carl are overall better rock musicians, but as artists in general I think Pete&John are more talented. Which is the better then? I honestly can't tell..
Great song! Ever wanted to know Carl's favourite cheese? Carl reveals all to The Mighty Cheeseboard. googlesearch "the mighty cheeseboard carl barat"
I was just thinking that Lubydub
This is the saddest version I've ever heard.
@desasterz You are a fool if you think Carl isn't top of that list.
If we want to sail the good ship Albion, we NEED Carl and Peter.
Also, you mispelled Carl's surname.
the only thing make me sad is how you write comment about this vids
@VideoKilledYaMum lol
i creid
class!! is all i have to say
can anyone say they would have put up with a heroin junky, i know pete was class but come on
he changes most of pete lyrics
libertines to headline leeds 2010!!!
so sad
yes bau see how Pete flow with the guitar ... its not the same thing.
i am talking at the acoustic guitar playing level. I can't fell the same armony that pete uses in his plays. The note. The small notes between one note and another. Carl just play normal. And the timing in the acoustic is not as in the electric. It must be more armonic.
i don't agree with that. both have beautiful voices
@superleenaylor i think that Carl is a better singer, but not musician. But ist just my opinion.
youd understand if you wrote songs
just listen to dirty pretty things, you can´t deny that carl issn´t as brilliant as pete. plus Carl has a better scence for the right key.
hes ok though lol
I think Carl is way better
:(
shit all against pete
This is the saddest cover I've ever heard.
Carl is nothing without Doherty, and Doherty is nothing without Carl, and the 2 guys are nothing without Libertines
Peter is a drug addict, but sings a lot better.
he looks very sad :/
you carnt think this is good
it would sound alot better if pete was with him. :(
pete makes you dude
