Funny but Ballard doesn't need to do that. Other teams had chances to get Mitchell. The Colts even traded down in the second round. No one wanted Mitchell. So Ballard drafted him.
Put your name on it. The person that ends paying is the player. Let's say AD Mitchell went #25 overall (not crazy based on mock drafts). He would have gotten a $14.2 million dollar contract. Second round contracts go from $6.3-9.9 million based on quick research. Since he was selected later in the second round, let's call it $7 million. That is half of what he could have gotten, plus #25 gets about $7.1 million right away as a signing bonus. We aren't talking nickels here. This is life changing/ generational wealth amounts of money these kids are dealing with. On the plus side, if he balls out, he will hit the free agency a year earlier so that is something I guess.
If Ballard didn't defend CJ Stroud last year. I wonder if the Texans still would've drafted him. The Texans didn't seem that high on him and the Texans fans know they were all mad when they drafted him. Ballard said good things about Mitchell. It's a guy who should've went first round and i hope he makes all the teams who passed up on him pay.
Me too brother. I’m just off AR15 I’m a gators fan I saw him in college for 3 seasons and last year I didn’t want to draft him I wanted to move back and get picks for this season so we could get one of these QBs. Hopefully he can get some Accuracy but I’m fearful that I’m right
@@BSTVsportscolts and gators fan here I still wanted CJ over AR because CJ can throw a dot anywhere on the field but AR had the most drops in college. Health is more of a concern over accuracy.
Ballard has really turned it around this year paying in house guys making good moves in the draft standing up for our young players this is my GM Go Colts

Dude. Anyone watching this who doesn't think Chris Ballard is fully capable and motivated to LIE HIS ASS OFF is living in a weird fantasy. Chances are higher than Jim Irsay that this dude is covering his own tracks.
Do you understand how much teams spend researching players? It’s probably 100x your salary. They dig deeper than a FBI background check. Especially for a player that’s projected to go in round 1.

I am a casual that's not brainwashed. Luck lost his career over a GM that can't draft. We are facing the same situation now. We didn't make our offense better.

Listen. They are back ups. That's not help now. If you think Pittman is a #1 WR then I can see you on Ballard's side. No disrespect but we're not helping our offense.
I'm with Ballard. Scouts and executives should not get to hide behind anonymity.
Totally agree - put your name on it!!!
Yep
Plot twist it was Ballard so he can fall
Adonai Mitchell is better than worthy
😂😂😂😂😂

That's what I said last year with CJ Stroud. 😂
Is that what the Texans did with Stroud? 🤔

Can’t believe I agree with Florio. Holy shit.
It should speak volumes to AD Mitchell that Ballard has defended him in this way.
Ballard should address the negative reports on his terrible haircut
He did......
Ballard low key looks like Caitlyn Jenner with that hair
I was thinking the same thing 😂... It looks like Bruce when he started transition

what was said about this kid?
Bad character and since he’s a type one diabetic, he’ll have mood swings

Chris Ballard😂😂
When the kid left one school to ho to another his former team had a party at his locker.celibrating him leaving.
He is obviously not liked
The always associate the WL test to the blk players simple as tht
The only negative I heard on Mitchell was that he is type 1 diabetic, and that's a medical fact, not nefarious anonymous sources.
That's only part of it. They were saying he has mood swings and had some character/work ethic issues as well.
There were rumbling about is he coachable, his overall work ethic, and generic "character issues". The only part that is true is the diabetic part.
Type 1 diabetics are prone to mood swings when their blood sugar is abnormal (it doesn’t mater if it is high or low). How do I know? I am one.

Mike florio is a tool
Seems Scripted..
Eh that’s Ballard. Surprised it took him this long to go on a tirade like this. He’s been close in the past
I agree with Ballard except for the "this is a good kid".. He might be but how in the world would you know that from your staff meeting him twice
Maybe because they spend money on investigating players
I have a feeling if this was JJ McCarthy you wouldn’t have written this… just a hunch
