Ed has come on record and said he is a big fan of heavier music. When it comes to the collab he was asked if he would do the opening for the awards show but he thought that doing the opening of the show with an acoustic wouldn't work so he called Bring me the Horizon to come and do this version of the song.

Ed Sheeran said he use to be a fan of heavier music and playing with BMTH was a dream of his. Apparently Sheeran reached out to Oli Sykes about collaborating in studio pre-pandemic.

No,they are not that band. Oli was inspired to sing and learn to scream because at 17, he saw a LinkinPark concert, so he's been on the scene for a while. He also sang at the Hollywood Ball for the remembrance of Chester Bennington. He did a good job of singing Crawling, which fit him perfectly because the song is a heavy screaming one. LP invited him for that reason, as well because they've been friends, known each other for years. In my opinion, Oli is only getting better and better.
