She suffered her Father's disdain for her beloved. She suffered his leaving, his torment at the hands of Sauron in Tol-in-Gaurhoth, she suffered his leaving again, then every painful, heavy, horrific step towards and in the fell dreaded halls of Angband. It is said that Mandos had never been so moved, and never would he ever be again. A lament of mortal love that moved a god. How beautifully Tolkien writes...
Let's be clear: The ONLY way to properly bring the Silmarilion to the screen would be to do it Game of Thrones style with about 10 times the budget. One of the seasons would need to end with the tale of Beren and Luthien. This song would be *the* perfect climax of that season. It builds to this moment, grows silent before this masterpeice comes on. Nothing else would suffice. It is that perfect. Throw in how the professor considered this the pivotal moment of the Silmarilion, and it all adds up.
I pray to Ilúvatar that never happens, my brother. The world would demand that strange creatures to play the roles of the heroes of our most sacred stories. The heathen god of diversity is taking over and twisting our people's hearts.
Yes, although Mandos was moved to pity he admitted to Luthien that he had neither the power or authority to grant her request. So he informed Manwe who in turn took the Issue to Iluvatar. And it was Iluvatar who gave Luthien the choice: Immortality free from Grief in Valinor or Mortality with Been.
@@olympiaelda1121 Lúthien ended up choosing mortality with Beren over the Immortaility of Valinor and the pair than returned to the Kingdom of Doriath.
This... The Luthien and Beren part is, for me, the most beautiful story in all the Tolkien world. When i read this story, i was touched by the sincerity of this moment, when Luthien kneel front of Mandos.... just beautiful... And this song, is a great tribute of this wonderful moment. Thanks you for your performance, it's really a great moment of music and feeling.
...and then, Mandos' unchanging heart was moved, for the first and only time. that song made death, the most absolute truth in the world, submit in favor of the love that two beings professed for each other.
This song makes me think of someone very special and dear to me…Caitlin. Thank you JRR Tolkien for writing one of the most heart-wrenching tales ever, and thank you Eurielle for such a beautiful piece.

@@Las3rBoy Hahaha small minded, sociopath and petty Morgoth full of mockeries and jealousy "looking upon her beauty conceived in his thought an evil lust"
I have always read the Silmarillion with the idea that though written as a narrative, I have to think Tolkien meant it to be sung as some grand opera. You have captured that very spirit in this song. Imagine this sung on stage in some great opera hall, a show stopper in an opera chalk full of them! Brava! Bravissima!
The degree of strength and determination of Luthien and her undying and loyal Love to go to the beyond and ask for the Life of her beloved is incredible .That is what is so beautiful about this story: the degree of commitment and dedication to the other as signs of love .I want that and I want to give that .
I can hear Tinuviel’s broken heart in your voice and the love for the Professor’s work in your words. So rare is it that I am moved to tears. I would applaud you if I could, though I fear my hands are busy hiding my face.
You exceeded my wildest expectations Eurielle! Truly captured the emotions and poetic bittersweetness of Luthien's lament for Beren! They should make a Silmarillion movie and you should make the whole soundtrack in my opinion.
Thank you. I have been through hell recently, and internally an emotional wreck, but I have had few tears. This beautifully written and performed song brought out everything I needed to feel and I found myself a blubbering mess. Thank you for writing this beautiful piece.
Amazing. Your work is among the finests I have heard. From a fellow Tolkien & Arda fan, Maë Govannen, and my deepest congratulations to you, dear Eurielle. I actually thought at first the lyrics had been written by the Professor (I did not know he had not). The melody is very moving indeed, very sad and touching. All around a good job! Namarië.
Foul servants of Morgoth would only dislike this. Anyway it truly portrays what could have been sang in front of Mandos by Luthien just to reclaim her lost love.
An absolutely breathtaking, moving song for the Lady Lúthien. It captures her beauty and the love between Beren and Lúthien indescribably well. Tolkien would be proud.
This is beautiful. You truly capture the essence of the song, of Lúthien coming before Mandos and all the Valar of Arda for her love of Beren. The raw talent you present in this, Tolkien's ultimate expression of passion and sorrow unbound that is the essence of all of his Middle Earth, is truly astonishing and mesmerising to listen to. I am in awe of you
There is a depth of solace, sadness, and sincerity in this that only difficulty is had in written expression. As high as dragon's fly, to the depths of abyssal plains, and with dying sparks in torrential winter. It is that class of emotion that is evoked, much like it is that spirit that listens while the ears hear.
I have waited so long for this!! Thank you!!! I'm in tears!!! Please do a lament of when Luthien stood before Morgoth, lulling even a more corrupt soul than Sauron.
Not only is the music impressive, but I must take a moment to stress how fantastic the composition is as well. The meter, the rhythm, the vocabulary, the tasteful use of the poetic register and archaisms, all is worthy of the Professor. In an age when even "professional" poets no longer write like this, you deserve double commendation. Brava.
I've heard this song now and then over the years, had it in a couple playlists while I was playing LOTR stuff. I was today years old when I saw the comments talking about how you wrote this. I read the description and I'm shook, I genuinely thought Tolkien had written this like the poem of Beren and Luthien itself. The word choice, the content, everything about it never made me question whether or not it was Tolkien because in my head this is what he would've written. So I don't know if that's an immense slight to you that I've seemingly ignored your incredible writing talent or if this is extreme praise that you absolutely nailed every single aspect of Tolkien, the LOTR and the story of Beren and Luthien. I hope you take it as a compliment because I'm seriously impressed.
What's truly amazing and leaves me flustered in every song you sing, and especially this one, is your wide voice range, that you use in such a harmonious way. It's really hard to master all those notes and fluidly strive through them like you do! The result is soft and powerful at the same time, like a classical soloist is trained to do. Thank you for embellishing this world Eurielle! You inspire me every day :)
Your voice is honestly not just "Beautiful voice" It tells stories , The emotions are just ... I can't describe I'm so fan of yours . Much love to you and to your music
Magnificent! Tolkien means a lot to me and the fact that you have made this song for characters as dear as Beren and Luthien is just magical! Thank you very much really! Your voice is incredible, the melody is beautiful and you are a genius!
Damn it, this is literally one of the best songs I've ever heard! And I'll tell you, i's a musical gourmet! But then even I was struck: and the execution, and (which is rare these days) the text is beautiful! Emotion would be even more and would be a masterpiece, no kidding, for centuries. The only thing I can remember from a more or less capable comparison is "The Song of Arwen" ("Let the evening star rise above you").
Incredible. Captures the hope, wonder, sorrow, and sheer grandeur of the tale of Beren and Luthien. I am in awe every time I read or hear the story, and I can say the same about this song. Well done
If a woman sang such words of beauty for any man he could not resist the urge to come back to life for not even death is a strong enough shield to hold love at bay... magnificent!
Eurielle is very talented but this song really is something else. The performance, the lyrics, and the vivid evocative images it conjures - It is just a masterpiece. I echo another user’s comment in saying that this is a true homage to Tolkien. Surely he is smiling proudly somewhere beyond the veil.

For a song not meant to be expressed by mortal words and tunes, this is close enough to perfection that I challenge anyone to say it can be done better.
I couldn't hold back the tears... I can only imagine a love so strong you face death with only one goal for the after life: keeping a promise of seeing again someone you loved so so so much. So pretty!
Simply amazing. Although i go with "there Was a reason for no lyrics from Tolkien", probably to further deepen the Meaning of how special and otherwordly Luthiens song Was, i daresay this must come pretty close. It is a fine line between sorrowful, hopeful, love and mystical like a song with words woven by the valar. Truly an amazing work and i Can listen to this endlessly. Thank you so much for sharing this with the World! And please keep up making such amazing songs For Tolkiens masterpiece.

The ONLY way to properly bring the Silmarilion to the screen would be to do it Game of Thrones style with about 10 times the budget.
@@nosotrosloslobosestamosreg4115 Strange creatures? You mean your fellow man?
@@nosotrosloslobosestamosreg4115 i agree with you, it just can’t happen. They better leave it to our imagination and Tolkiens.

If Luthien sang like Eurielle, not Mandos nor Eru Ilúvatar could deny her request.
@@Apollo890 What did she choose?

I believe the Professor himself, especially if he heard this after the death of his beloved wife, would be moved to tears in a good way and love the song. Very well done.
I am certain both Professor Tolkien and Mrs. Tolkien appreciate and love this beautiful song you have sung. You honor Beren and Luthien with this song. Well done and thank you.
On the verge of tears, hearing this. I love this story on The Silmarillion! Best love story ever!
Agreed Best love story ever
Well, as a male I'm not really into love stories, but this one is my favorite, of all. It's not some kind of romantic movie, or one of the trash, that I could consider as a blasphemy of vampires. It is Fantasy. I mean real Fantasy.
You can cry. Even Satan would be move that he'll ask God to get these two back.
Maybe you should buy the book about beren and luthien than. If Im correct, it came out last year.
@@lassesgamekanaal is it just the exerpt from the sillmarillion, but published as its own, seperate book?
I close my eyes and I feel like I'm wandering in the undying lands... far from this world. Thank you Eurielle for giving us the pleasure to hear your voice. A voice touched by the grace of the Valar...
incredibly tempted to translate this into sindarin and learn it
can't ever hope to sing as lovely as yourself, but it'd make a wonderful lullaby for my sister
I can't listen to this without crying, which seems appropriate since it managed to sway even Mandos. This is such a beautiful song, and definitely worthy of Luthien. Amazing work!
Nine Orcs were bored apparently. This song is beautiful and holds so much power and sadness. I love it 😍
If that's really the song that Luthien sang to Mandos, I completely understand why he was so moved he brang Beren back to life. This song is perfect.
I just discovered this channel and heard this song for the very first time! I'm listening to it on repeat and can't stop crying! This song left me completely speechless and thinking of all the wonderful people in my life that I've loved and lost! Personally I've never known a romantic love as this and that saddened me deeply. I hope to find a love like this one day even though I know one day that same love with be lost. I can't stop crying. This song to so sorrowful and beautiful... 😭😭💧💦🌧️☔🌊🌊🌊
I already cried just reading their part in the book.
Now that I'm listening to this while re-reading their chapter, I can't help but cry some more.
And more.
This is surelly one of the most beautifull things I have ever heard in my life!
I’m literally fucking sobbing right now, I’m never going to be okay about these two and this was an absolute gut-punch to the feels.
These Tolkien tributes are amazing!

The most beautiful song I have ever heard. No wonder Mandos was so moved to restore them back to life.
I got CHILLS. It was like Luthien's spirit herself had come to sing in my room. WOW!!!!!!!
Every time i listen to this song the tears will flow. This song is about real love. Eurielle's voice is amazing. Truly Elvish
This is actually a masterpiece.... phenomenal...just....there are no words..GOD I wish I could like this a million times
Absolutely gorgeous voice! I'm a man and I'm not ashamed to admit this song brings me to tears! Thank u. U have a amazing talent.
Incredible... No words for this masterpiece... The professor shall be proud.
Their are no words in the English language that can describe how beautiful this is
I have always read the Silmarillion with the idea that though written as a narrative, I have to think Tolkien meant it to be sung as some grand opera.
The simplicity of the musical arrangement and the clarity of the vocal delivery enable the listener to actually hear the lyrics. I love it.
I can hear Tinuviel’s broken heart in your voice and the love for the Professor’s work in your words.
So rare is it that I am moved to tears.
I would applaud you if I could, though I fear my hands are busy hiding my face.
May the Valar protect you, Eurielle! Always.
But the Valar do not exist.

Your voice is so beautiful.
Namarië.
The lyrics of this song are something else.
The sorrowful song that moved to tears the gods themselves... Magnificent work. I have no words.
Fascinating!! Makes me feel inside of the world of J. R. R. Tolkien😍😄🎶
God bless your voice and skills as a lyricist!!
Precioso. Lloro cada vez que leo Beren y Luthien y lloro con este canto .
Brava.
Your voice is breathtakingly beautiful, and you bring justice to songs of middle earth.. I can feel middle earth come to life listening to you sing.
Such a masterpiece, you honor Tolkien's work with this piece. Amazing writing and performance. Love your work!
If ever a movie comes out with the story of luthien and beren, this version of the song MUST be used
I've heard this song now and then over the years, had it in a couple playlists while I was playing LOTR stuff.
+LifeLoveDreamMusic This is such a lovely comment, thank you so much!
Eurielle, Karliene & Fleurie. 3 voices that changed my vision on life for ever.
Music is Magic.
Your voice is honestly not just "Beautiful voice" It tells stories , The emotions are just ... I can't describe I'm so fan of yours . Much love to you and to your music
Ohhh thank you! I'm so happy you're enjoying my music :)
You're mostly welcome love from Egypt 💕
As a Silmarillion fan, I'm proud to see that this Tolkien's masterpiece continue to inspire beautiful songs like this one❤
Merci beaucoup pour ce chant si émouvant, il m’a tant émue que j’en ai la chair de poule… je pense que vous avez fait là un sublime hommage à Tolkien et au couple que forment Beren et Lúthien… merci ❤️😭
For a song not meant to be expressed by mortal words and tunes, this is close enough to perfection that I challenge anyone to say it can be done better.
Your music is a gift to the world.
Oh great Mandos
High among Valar
I come to you in sorrow
And with a broken heart
Long has been my journey
That led me to these halls
But now I kneel before thee
As grief my spirit calls
I seek a man named Beren
Whom I bid await me here
I pledged that I would find him
Before he leaves this sphere
This man of whom I speak
He gave his life for me
But thence my soul grew weak
And at last it too broke free
So borne upon an urgent breeze
I travelled to this place
Where only one thing could appease
The torment I now face
Oh tell me I am not too late
To see my love once more
For that would be too cruel a fate
I beg him be restored
That we may take a little time
To bid our last farewell
And remember all we shared erstwhile
Such joy no one could quell
For never was a greater love
Than that within our hearts
Once born, forever binding us
E'en though through death we part
Once born, forever binding us
E'en though through death we part
I have never. Never. Never in this world heard such a masterpiece. It is so brilliant. When I had listened to it for the first time, it took me far away and back and forward to the Halls of Mandos. I could perfectly see Luthien in front of me... It was so sad and so beautifull dream....
Thanks you a lot, Eurielle, You have changed my life forever! Valar bless you!
Almost heartbreaking beautiful ... you did the best job that was possible for a human being. I'm glad you accepted the challenge
Ta voix est magnifique .... Elle submerge par les émotions qu'elle transporte... Même lorsque que le silence retombe j'ai l'impression d'encore en entendre l'echo. C'est juste sublime .
