I'll be honest, I was not expecting the first words of the video to be "Let's do some good news" when the title has "Death and Damage" in it

Metal sheeting roofs are extremely dangerous. Like a guillotine flying around!
Yes, cancel metal, cancel roofs! Ban flying guilloteens too.
Shame parliament one didn't come off and garrot the sitting criminals ; )
The guillotine is much more dangerous there is no comparison but yeah those roofs are certainly dangerous.
@@Rodiacreed If a corrigated tin roof or metal was flying through the air at about 70-85 mph gusts caught you in the neck, I'm sure you would lose your dang head!! Ok not a clean cut but a ~~~~~ cut!! To me that's just as flaming dangerous.
@@Rodiacreed no it's not you have to raise the guillotine then stick your neck in it then release the guillotine for it to do damage. Guaranteed more people have been killed by flying objects than accidentally cut there own head off in a guillotine

I suppose taxing the poor is the obvious solution no doubt. That’ll stop the storms.

let’s be honest in the cities electricity etc is still on it’s the countryside that needs looking at in terms of the electricity.

Then I find the motorbike has been blown over in the wind and smashed all the bits and bobs down one side.
Result! 🙄🤦♂
Why ppl move to the countryside already knowing that they will not have fast broabband or better protected electricity?
Remember when goverment said energy billls have gone up because there was not enough wind for the turbines to generate electricity etc , so does that mean after these winds my bills will go down ?
As silly as it sounds the winds need to be within a set parameter. The limit of generation is roughly 31mph. After that, they can’t produce more than their maximum.
After a certain point, roughly 55mph, turbine has to shut down.
At the end of the day wind turbines are also structures, and can, rather ironically, be damaged by the very force of nature they aim to utilise.
Energy bills are rising globally. I think a lack of wind has had little effect on that.

@M H elmet shut ya mouth
In the US we would call that event a hurricane! Stay safe Britain!
We would call it a hurricane I'd it was one, it was not
@@Goady1000 lapt
That’s nowhere near a hurricane. Hurricanes are sustained extreme powerful wind (regular storms like this one have powerful wind GUSTS not sustained. If it were sustained it would’ve destroyed a significant amount of old buildings) then halfway through, when the eye passes, the wind comes from the other direction which is why it destroys so much. People without experience reinforce one side of their structure, neglecting the other, then when the second half of the storm hits it destroys it and can easily kill you. You can walk through storms like this one if you walk through a hurricane you’ll likely die. Another thing is the low air pressure wreaks havoc and makes your head feel weird until the storm passes.
Edit: if a hurricane hit England it’d devastate that country as bad as earthquakes devastate Haiti or any country with buildings not built to withstand it. Thankfully a hurricane will never hit England bc the waters aren’t warm enough.
"...ripped apart by the unforgiving wind"- what a metaphorical statement!!!
1 good thing comes from these storms is the halt on illegal crossings into Dover 👍 we need more storms 🤔
Yes we do indeed need more storms to protect our great country.
But we need a political storm to blow through Great Britain to wake up the sleeping British people.

Feel sorry for all those that have lost their lives and my preys are to those that have lost loved ones.
I know how hard it can be in such actions, it takes a long long time to come to terms with the death of a loved one, due to mother natures fury.
However I would not blame Nature as shes just doing what she has been doing for millions of years.
We are the idiots that place our homes and streets in harms way then we moan about ir.
Ignorant?
Yes, ignorant.
I too, when angry or in dispute of my feelings and emotions, fall into a misanthropic state especially about such issues of rapid population growth. I hate myself for it . You must understand that whether these feelings you have against humanity are temporary or not, you have no right to ever judge human life through a blind perception you have created or witnessed from another. I do credit the fact you did remorse for the poor souls that have lost their life to Mother Nature, this shows you are not the narcissist type (although you could be trying to make yourself a heavenly persona before remarking that humans are commuting themselves to idiocy and creating an ugly image of us)
This is misanthropy. I see my mother in you, constantly bawling about the power of nature and how humans should be wiped off the very surface of earth, for they have hurt it so. Alternatively, you are not incorrect in the slightest.
My main message, although spewed in many directions and most likely confusing, (I am writing this at three in the morning) I want you to understand that this is an incorrect way to address your feelings, especially writing your sorrows for the ones who suffered at natures hand, to then ranting about how ‘we’ are idiots. Do not use collective terms, only few people see the world in such a way - including you. Others cannot even imagine to understand such things as existentialism. They are unable to change, -we- are primitive beings, but are all capable of incredibly different things.
Many cannot see the world through your eyes, so they cannot change what they can’t seem to grasp sight of. You can. If you decide to make such a bold statement, it truly proves you are knowledgable about the subject, maybe you should do something about this problem in the near future. Do something that others can’t. We are not idiots, we are simply complex individuals.

@@cjh0751 it's hard to say. Even though we're deeply lucky to have no hurricanes, tornadoes and tsunamis, I think there's a possibility that Earth may soon start to see a difference in how we save energy and how we recycle. But more importantly, we would be more concerned in how much damage these storms we've been having are doing to our climate - most vital, the trees. The trees are the reason we survive as the leaves carry out photosynthesis, which provides us with oxygen to breathe. @@jbin2424 no, what I mean is that we, as in the people in the county that I live in, get weather like this every week or so. Especially at this time of year, and towards the end of the year too. We still had power cuts and trees ripped up at their roots, and flood water blocking main access roads. Just like we do many times a year. Every year. For someone who moved to UK from Croatia, I can hardly call this a storm, just a bad weather. It’s insane how unprepared British people are for any weather that’s not extremely mild. You have a few snowflakes, they cancel all the flights, you have a temperature of 25 degrees, they call it a heat wave.
I don't know about unprepared, but rather that extreme weather doesn't happen to us as other places. The last time we had a storm of this magnitude was 30 years ago. Its all about perspective. When my relatives visit from Bangladesh, they cannot handle 12 degree weather, they say its too cold. But im not ignorant enough to call them snowflakes because my IQ isnt a single digit number.
I have to agree with this, the British people have gone soft and lost the plot big time !!!
There's a reason our country is called Great Britain, and that's as we used to be the greatest people on earth, and now we British are just a embarrassment to our forefathers.
@DMo86 Because the UK is financially one of the best places in the world to live.
@@mandarkastronomonov2962 in a way, I agree! How do you prepare for very rare things? And should you prepare? Seems ridiculous to do so. But on the other hand, extremely mild weather really affected the quality of roads in UK, as well as houses. When I moved here, very soon, my husband and I bought a brand new apartment in good neighborhood. I was expecting top quality. Week after we moved in, the walls started to crack. I was in state of shock and panic, as I believed that apartment is falling apart. We called a builder and he said it’s normal, nothing to be concerned about and it’s just a “settling crack”, never heard of settling crack before as back home, you might get a crack after 50 years. I checked later if settling cracks are really a thing here, turned out they were. Roads are another part of problems, most of them don’t have any shield to block the noise, or to block trees, rocks, part of the heel to fall on the roads, cars, etc, no need to mention that they need to get fixed way too soon.
If British people have better quality buildings and better done roads, this kind of weather wouldn’t be such a catastrophic. I believe that British people do deserve a better quality and should definitely push that to happen. After all, with Brexit and Covid, we still have no idea on economic impact for the future, and if before it wasn’t a problem to have a house of poor quality that needs to be fixed often, we might need this quality now, as many people might not be able to afford fixing something that wasn’t meant to last long
God: *Creates entire universe*
Also God: *Fails to stop his church roof being blown off*
And God punishes his servants who stray from God's truths.
See your church roof blown off and your seeing God's vengeance in action for a church that's turned away from the only true living God, the God of the Bible
It barely rained down here

RIP to those poor people who have lost their lives
True havoc. A few bins down.
Tree falls... "I caught that on video", not "Let's go make sure no one got hurt". Really sums up humanity these days.
To be fair, it fell right in the centre of a roundabout/park, they had direct line of sight and could see no one underneath it. Most people are actually nice people, you just only hear about the rats and scumbags, because that gets more views.

It's fun! Those who can't enjoy the weather and sway with the wind aren't really alive in the first place
🌊💯
And the government wants to get rid of gas, freezing temperatures and no heating lucky most have gas for cookers and fires.
I live in watford and the wind knocked over my fence. ohh well
Ill be honest the cases reported here aren't even major deals. 2 tree's fell, 1 roof got torn off, the tip of a church got blown off, and some power lines snapped.
The tree's were both in urbanized area's where there was alot of concrete around so they couldn't spread there roots as easiliy in those directions making them less stable. Causing there fellin.
The tip of the church had been there for probably over 100 year's and i doubt it was inspected much or reinforced at all in that time wood wear's away with time it degraded and was pulled off.
the roof of the boat house is new, which means they either didn't account for wind being that strong in the construction or the construction was faulty.
the powerlines snapping is a bad thing and really shouldn't happen but they will probably fix them in a few days so buck up and deal with it.
Oh no!!!!
It was just a breeze guys, true story.

As a British immigrant in Canada, you must have indeed seen quite a lot of bad weather!
