I'm using my Sony MiniDisc Recorder with my Surface Pro X to transfer songs to it and it's intended be used with Windows XP. It's a little more complicated to install the driver on ARM but it absolutely works (you need to follow fan made instructions to install the driver on Intel too). My printer's scanner driver work from their website. Only the printer driver I needed to use Windows. If I can use a MiniDisc Recorder from 2002 it's not as bad as you think.

I'm exited to see some battery life tests between Linux and Windows on the Snapdragon X Elite

Nobody on youtube mentions about the newer snapdragon being overclockable with msi after burner. I'm curious about overclocking the newer snapdragon processors with msi after burner since I use msi afterburner with every windows gaming laptop that I use whether they are from msi or not msi laptops as long as they run windows. Even though the snapdragon processors are not really designed for gaming but I still wonder about the overclocking capabilities with unlocked multiplier by increasing the clock multiplier settings in the snapdragon processors similar to the Intel processors and using the intel xmp profile for overclocking the ram similar to the intel processors but done on the snapdragon processors. On my gaming pc back in 2019, I have the intel core i9-9900k and can overclock all 8 cores to 5ghz and I have 4 sticks of ram with ddr4 ram enabled to 4000mhz with xmp profile. I also have the evga 2080 ti ftw 3 gpu but the 11gb of vram is not enough since I only game in native 4k with hdr with ray tracing, dlss always off, v sync always off, motion blur always off. I don't use dlss because the games run at 1080p but it only upscales the games. I need only 4k because I'm already used to 4k ever since 2014 since I switched to 4k full time and anything less than 4k is not good enough. The graphics with dlss looks too pixelated with less details while looking like they have jagged edges compared to native 4k since dlss is too artificial and fake instead of being real like native 4k. I was wondering if the newer snapdragon processors will be able to do the same thing as my gaming pc

Based on Redmond history (say things like Windows RT) you guys seem to have called the real storyline of "it is MSFT's latest effort to break the WinTel platform lock for a WinARM alternative". But we've been here before.
For sure Redmond's trying to point the hardware partners in a specific new product direction, but Partners in Redmond have a significant amount of political clout across the org. Not just one or 2 Partners.
As for the 'AI' addon, it doesn't seem at this time to be a 'killer app' on this client-side Windows SKU that'd make us go out and dump our perfectly good laptops for this thing TBH. But lets see what happens in a year ...

I am not too excited about an Arm era. I see single board computers that barely can run any OS, but the price is unbelievable.

It's so interesting how this industry is shaking out. I go way back to Windows 3.0/Apple IIc days. If you had told me Intel would be getting left behind by other Processor Makers I would have laughed at you. There was a time when Intel was the Juggernaut on the planet.

It's interesting Microsoft are interested to sell is CoPilot+ PCs. We want to buy decently equipped Windows on ARM PCs. All the talk had been good they compare to Mac. Not the AI stuff Microsoft has yet to make the use case for.

Am I the only person that doesn't view this as PC vs Mac as much as it is Surface Pro is a true iPad alternative because you might be frustrated with Apple's current roadmap for iPad OS?

The Surface Pro has never really been an iPad alternative but it is a better alternative to the iPad Pro.

I've been so disappointed with Microsoft that I'll only believe everything that's been presented once Thurrott has bought it, evaluated it and recommended it. Until then, forget it.

"Not enough of both". He thinks the average person needs more than 16/256? Never mind the base Apple give is 8/256 🤷
