Hi there, just wanted to let you know Paganini was born in 1782 not 1872. :)
He was born in 1782 not 1872.
Just a error on the clip I noticed.
Nice video BTW thanks for the upload.
Being accused of making a deal with the devil because you play the violin too good is a extremely advanced form of being hackusated
that's because of how fast they learn the violin and how dark they are as a person it takes years to master the violin not just one or a few months
but he sold his soul, see how fast he master violin, he got sick talent but there is no human ability to master it so quickly
Christians are always meddling...
@@macias7125 but as a 7 year old how did he do it?
@@cookliet8444 age dont mean u cant sell ur soul
Niccolo Paganini: "I'm the only violinist who sold my soul to the devil"
Nikocado Avocado: "Hold my Big Mac"
Underrated Comment
He sold his soul to himself lmao
“wait no give that back im hungry”
Hold my comment
Eh I guess Nikocado Avocado has the sin of gluttony. Either way it fits-
Anyone who can play Paganini's pieces is a musical god to me.
Right?!?! He was amazing!
Which makes you phenomenal !
Ilove you too
Your A God for me too you got my attention 😁
Paganini and liszt
1864 : He's so good at violin, he must have made a deal with the devil.
2023 : He's so good at this game, he must be cheating.
People never really change.
Right! People don't use their brains! He was talented almost since birth. He surpassed his teachers as a child, so if he was that talented as a child, he obviously didn't sell his soul unless he did as a damn child!
The fact that as a child, he was so good that he surpassed his own teachers proves he did not sell his soul in my opinion. He had the talent from birth, he was a prodigy. His dark side, his vices, are not very surprising considering that people like him tend to struggle with things like that. How many geniuses and/or prodigies have also been very troubled and suffered from mental health issues and addiction?? I think that because they are so gifted and intelligent, they see things differently than others, including the darker parts of life, they feel more deeply and so they constantly struggle with it.
Glad someone sees it the way I do
I read that when Niccolo seen the priest they sent to tend to him on his deathbed apparently he had a very negative and strange response, he cast the priest away and became highly agitated and distressed by the presence of the holy man.
It encourage the believe that he had indeed sold his soul to the devil or was in alinement with evil forces, so this influenced the public’s speculations of his league with dark forces and subjected Niccolo to much greater pubic scrutiny.
But it could have very well been a compilation of his fear to die and possibly the effects of syphilis which cause mental deterioration after long term effects from contraction of the disease.
Many went totally mad and mentally unstable due to syphilis and the effects after having it for lengthy periods caused the deterioration of the brain.
So either way his reaction would only cause a sense of conformation to the dark rumours of his pact with evil.
I have read/studied about a few highly talented artists both musical and visual artists who where deemed to have been In league with the devil or evil because they caused people to be curious about their odd behaviour and their great talent which allowed them to live lives of excess and to have much greater public and financial success and then those in their community which caused pubic hostility and disregard for them which only promoted the rumours of their pact with dark forces.
Many great artists where discredited and labeled as conspiring with occult forces or evil but mainly it was because the artists had ability’s that gave them greater social status then the fellow members of their community and this caused great contempt and jealousy so in attempts to damn the artists and ruin their great success they where deemed as being part of evil forces.
That’s my take on it anyway.
Thanks for this video very interesting and educational, I enjoy videos like this and this one was especially well produced.
Good job and thanks again!!
Nothing holy about a priest!

Bet he wouldn't have imagined he'd be talked about 200+ years later
you might want to correct 2:23... 1782, not 1872 is his birthyear.
I reckon that he misplaced the number 7 and 8 during the scriptwriting. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed.
i googled to double check, cos i though 1872 was much too recent too.
@@zainhijudeen9237 Yeah +There would probably be a picture of him
Let’s go been waiting
Hope you enjoy!
Look who showed up! It's been FOREVER 😭, glad you are back 🔙💕
I love how this has become a series on the channel. Especially since all the episodes are all so well researched and presented.
When your so good at playing that people thought you sold your soul 🤣😂😂🤣
It wasn't just that Robert Johnson was a guitar virtuoso, it was his style of blues playing that was so original and made him stand out as such a genius.
And rote memorization was a rare thing for musicians in Paganini's era? I don't think so
Most blues people couldn’t stand his playing was horrible.
Robert left and came back months to a year later and could play better than any of them, and they had no idea how it happened. So they said he sold his soul for the ability to play.
Cool!
What sir ian said. Paganini (no matter what you believe) was a damn wonder. He was a master
@@sirianfelixbrightonesquire3247 most people don’t get how hated Roberta music was Until one day.
@Martin Luther who said he wasn't a virtue of so? I used to have a virtue or so, maybe a couple of them, but I seem to have misplaced them somewhere
on some recordings it sounds like he play two guitars at the same time. Just listen to "Preachin' blues (up jumped the devil)" with Johnson. Phenomenal!
Wow! Great video man! The fact that there are so many artist renderings of him tells us how incredible he was. I only know of him because an old friend of mine that plays guitar like a shredder, had him as a musical hero. Really enjoyed this. Bravo!
You omitted an interesting thing about Paganini, and that it’s very likely that he suffered from Marfan syndrome. It explains his long fingers, his height, and other health issues. It also may have assisted him in his playing. There is a book called “the violinist’s thumb” by Sam Keane that was fascinating.
That's the most interesting thing I've ever heard. Thankyou.
Thank you so much for that info! I’m going to look for the book now…
His hand were normal size and he was not tall... In all his biographies, it is reported by a physician who examined him.
Very interesting story that I enjoyed very much. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
I loved the way you said "1813 and his name was in the ether." It felt old and new to me. Thank you for this presentation. :)
Settling in for the night and was glad to see you back. Great bedtime story! 🙂
Great video! Love watching videos of things people haven’t made videos about ten times over (as far as I know with this man being the topic). Love!
Thank you for this video!! From what I've heard I also believe that part of the what made him so exciting was the way he behaved on stage through the music. His music is written in an incredibly theatrical style, not dissimilar to contemporary opera of his time, and I imagine that his visual image must have become one with the music he performed.
Love your videos!! Awesome to see you upload again!!
I always hope to see you upload!! Awesome to see another one brother ❤️
I appreciate that man!

Nice work! Pagani was a very interesting subject.. Excellent research and intelligent "script"!
He’s one of my faves. He’s so amazing.
Ain't there a piece called the devil's chirp or something like that? He composed that one after a dream where he met the devil and it played the fiddle for him. He claimed he just transferred what he listened to on that dream and said he was just an amateur compared to the devil.
Edit: I looked it up. It wasn't him but a man named Giusseppe Tartinni.
The Devil's Trill
Always love your videos!!

Robert Johnson literally sang about selling his soul
6:38 , damn they had a violin battle , the 1800s were crazy

You're finally here aaaaaa
Yet another banger
I love this series.
Awesome video.
The first rockstar how Inspirational
very good; enjoyed too your pers reverence of this so gifted Italian.
5:55 I have a recurring nightmare where I'm a child again and I'm lost in a similar looking theatre. I get lost looking for the bathroom, then can't find my box or booth or whatever they're called. There's a peaceful sounding opera going on the whole time but halfway through the dream the singer's voice morphs into Diamanda Galas level scary. I sometimes literally end up night terror screaming.
I remember a violinist came by my middle school and told us about those during Halloween is was good I just remembered it
Great video. Thanks.
Anointed by the pope and sold his soul to ‘Ol Goat Lucy!
My one hope in life is to be like Niccolo and be so damn good at something that you go to learn from someone only for them to not be good enough and send you to the person who taught them only to then have that teacher also not be good enough and send you to their teacher.
The man was basically the Goku of violin players
'I sold my soul to the devil, you sold yours to your label. Sell it, sell it, sell it, sell it.. Sell it, sell it, sell it, sell it. Unlike you, I have principles' - Paganini's response to Shut Down (Sell Out - TwoSetViolin)
I know you've probably gotten tons of requests on this already, but I'd like to see a "Morbid Musicians" episode on the former lead singer of rock band Lostprophets; a vile individual named Ian Watkins. What he did pretty muched destroyed the Lostprophet's reputation after they had hits such as "Rooftops" and (the admittedly badass sounding) "Shinobi VS. Dragon Ninja".
Thanks and keep up the awesome work, DeBurke.
I second this!
This definitely fits the bill, but I can completely understand if Deburke doesn't want to touch it. I regret reading the court documents describing what he was arrested for.
@@BlueMoonSamurai I almost requested Gary Glitter for the same reasons but I completely understand if Deburke doesn't want to make a video on Watkins. There are other morbid musicians (and music genres) out there that need their stories told.
Alternatively, I would suggest Deburke make a video about how Drill Rap basically started widespread gang wars across multiple countries such as USA, UK and Australia. Just a bunch of teens living the gang lifestyle and stuff from revenge murders to riots in public places to police raids to a literal murder that took place a few blocks from where I live... all because of Drill Rap.
@@RazorChampion99 Drill rap sounds like a fascinating topic. Horribly tragic but that's part of the series. I hope you're safe wherever you live.
I haven't heard of Gary Glitter before so I'm going to look him up and probably regret it.
Edit: I look up "who is Gary Glitter" and Jimmy Saville is the first option in "People also searched." Oh no.
@@BlueMoonSamurai For more information, I recommend watching a youtuber named Savox who made a list of "the most evil musicians". It is really informative but be prepared to hear some disgusting stuff as the video progresses.
Also, just for the record, I live in London in the UK and the Drill Rap scene here is probably just as violent, if not more, than the New York or Chicago Drill Rap scenes in the USA. Most of the UK drill rappers come from lower class areas of London where a lot of crime happens. Fortunately, I don't live in those places, but hey. Crime comes with every territory regardless of class or wealth I suppose.
As someone with a genetic collagen abnormality I've become pretty accustomed to spotting it in others.... Paganini's appearance alone got me wondering, then rubber-like movements were mentioned, along with haemorrhaging... He ticks an awful lot of boxes! A lot of us are also on the autistic spectrum, and again something tells me he'd fit in with us there as well 😆.
Thank you for a great video on this fascinating, exceptional human!

2:20 Niccolo Paganini was not born in 1870; he was born in 1782.
Not a new subscriber just recently started listening. Must say. Not disappointed. 🤔😎
I love how you put a violin cover of the Inuyasha soundtrack in the video 👀
Fascinating🎻
That last name is exotic af. Hard to separate from Pagani, the master supercar designer
The best violinist from Beethoven’s era
If your accused of being associated with the devil for being too good, then you’ve reached the peak
I have a feeling that they were not talking about an actual devil as more about his problems in life
Paganini was actually born in 1782, but everything else was good info! Good video!
This guy fire.
2:18 He was born in 1782, not 1872.
His last name literally has Pagan in it
So?
Welcome back bro Jesus have not seen you since they sign the declaration of independence
Thanks bro and yeah it's been awhile, the declaration was good times tho we did a lot of signing that day

Ah yes, Paganini was so good, that he does not even need a chin rest to play the violin.
He was born in 1782
UA-cam hoeing for not making this hit more algorithms
Every musician is intoxicated by the applause of the enthusiastic audience. The striving for recognition, honor, praise and adoration is the strongest motivation that leads people to achieve top performance.
However, the audience does not worship the master like a god. Theologians suspect that the pride and arrogance are linked to the evil supernatural power that wants to be glorified like a god. Those who strive for applause are therefore considered to be infected by the devil.
This is of course all superstition. Paganini did not make a contract with the devil. His hard work and talent are a gift from God with which God only endows a few people. God chooses those to reveal his greatness. The listeners adore the music and secondarily the performers.
Today is the 27-october-2022 and im watching this coincidence ?? I just went and searched for this man like i know something going to happen 😅😂

Wow...a European tour even back then.
I wonder how they would arrange and schedule such a thing without phones or email. XD
💫 Selling the Soul at five years old? No. This is speculation; he was a genius already. He was a victim of jealousy and corrupted politics.
Paganini was a true gangster
When you said he privately played guitar the video you shown was actually a bass
he literally was a rockstar omg
did this happen in Georgia? did he receive a golden fiddle?
yes
“I could never sell my soul, they sold there soul to me. Now here’s the movie” S.C.
Nice Jay Z reference 🤝
He admitted this. Although I believe just because someone sold their souls to Satan doesn't mean they can't repent. And be forgiven. But most who do this believe they can not be forgiven. So sadly they don't try. Nothing on this planet is worth selling your soul. Things on earth are temporary and then it is gone. Then comes eternity.

No one knows the son but the father and the father but the son.
I offered my soul to the devil in exchange for the voice of an auctioneer, he replied "Sold"!
I think Pags got a better deal on his soul than Johnson. Paganini was wayyyyyyy better on the fiddle then Johnson on a guitar. Not even comparable lol.
When you said he played by memory, did he also improvise...perhaps?
Improve is also important.
Niccolo and Ozzy would have been best buds
The fact the Pope of that time gave him whatever reward, is proof alone he sold his soul.
Reminds me of me strangely
