Just out of curiosity, how many miles did this truck engine have on it? If you know, I’d appreciate it. And was it souped up in anyway and what size liter was the engine? Thanks.
I was told that it had a tuner but wasn't tuned at the time of detonation. 650,000 miles. 5.9 24v out of an 05 Ram 2500
Also, the rod bolts snapped. That was what did it. The thing actually still ran with the busted cam and hole in the block off 4 or 5 cylinders.
@@The.Odyssey thanks I’ve got a bought 150000 on my 2006 5.9l kind of like to see what life others are getting to get an idea of how long it will last. At this point I’m thinking the body will probably wear out before the engine 😅
@zipp5398 no worries bud, I just dropped a long form video on what I'm doing. I pulled the drivetrain from a wrecked 04 (240,000ish on it), and that will be going into the truck this engine came out of. Along with rockers, cab corners, fenders and a bed. I do plan to tear the engine down to inspect and address anything needed and make some changes, but she ran just fine before the wreck.
