***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

I just discovered your channel, when I was searching for instructions on how to make mozzarella cheese. I know zero about farming, or homesteading. I am very concerned about climate change & how it is affecting family farming. I'm sticking around to see how y'all are making out. I am rooting for you & all of the hard-working farmers & homesteading families 👪 😀! I will share this video on my Facebook page.

This is Mona I'm 66 years old visually impaired so I'm speaking into a microphone no function I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your life and your world I love it when you show the animals I love everything you show but I and I love the cooking too but I love it when you show the animals and I love y'all and them too God bless you all Christ love and peace in your home and with your girls thank you again shalom by the way just one Gabby up I'm here in clintonville Wisconsin and it's been a pretty mild summer we've had some days over the '90s but I can count on one and a half hands those days it's really hasn't been much but I live upstairs in an apartment that's insulated well and I only got a 110 Air condition it's still it's working but it struggles it doesn't really cool this place down but when it's 90° outside it does cause it where it's not like dangerous heat in this apartment but it's still very very hot even with the air condition so I do sympathize and I do understand I live 40 years in Texas and I live there at least two summers without any air conditioning at all in an old trailer and I'll tell you that's something I'll never want to repeat anyway thanks for sharing love y'all

While the ponds are dry, it’s the perfect time to clean them out. That way, when the rains come, the pond can hold more water. Deeper the pond, the better. Surface space allows for more/ faster evaporation. Even if you have the ponds cut 2’ deeper, it will be a benefit. This also give the opportunity to clean the edges and smooth out dips and valleys where the cattle track the edges.
It also would hurt to run your pigs in a pond area that’s about dried up. They help clean up the pond(s) as well. They will wollow the banks and pack some of the loose/soft dirt. Making for a more stable edge.

My momma always taught me rabbits do NOT like to be out in the heat. 😆 everything looks so beautiful on the homestead!! ❤️

Thank you so much for the update on the animals ❤️ I'm a lover of watching the weather and I have been following yours and some other homesteaders. I have been so worried about so many homesteads!! I checked your weather Sunday and was shocked at your forecast 💔 I immediately said a prayer for all of you 🙏
I'm really happy that your farm is set up so well to water everyone.
Again, thank you...it was a great video
    God bless you all

I use the same feeders for my caged quail as you have with one small difference. I discovered that I could take a plumbing fitting and cut it with my radial arm saw (very carefully) and it makes an excellent portal for feeding. Now I can load the feeders up full and don't have to add feed for a long time. I have noticed ZERO waste since this modification. Drilled a small hole in the top and zip tied it to keep from spinning but it could also very hot glued in place. Doesn't look like I can add a photo. But the fitting is a 1 1/2 " PVC hub fitting 90 degree angle hub elbow fitting. I cut one side off leaving a 90 degree curve so it curves towards the bottom of the feeder, thus allowing a small space for the grain but also allowing the container to be filled above the feed line. I wish I could add pictures.

Beautiful beautiful people, through and through.
In this community, I'd say the best thing we can all do for one another is stay on our knees about what we do on our feet every single day.
    Thanks for your videos.

I can't imagine having to work outside in that heat. I'm in CA and in a drought here too, but we don't have the humidity you do. We have been in the high 90s, 100+ for the last couple of weeks minus one day that was in the 80s. The animals look like they are doing pretty well there though thanks to your vigilance. I'm sorry to see Ginger go, but glad she's going to a good home. The piglets and chicks sure sprouted fast. 😀

We are lucky here in the northeast. The thunderstorms we have been having dropped lots and lots of rain. We got 5 inches two days ago and more storms are predicted later today. We are under a heat advisory with temps in the mid nineties all week. I may have to water the pots and especially the grow bags which dry out much faster than the in ground gardens. I will be checking everything because of the high heat everything may require some water especially if the thunderstorms don't materialize.

We are getting rain here in Central Florida, and I am very thankful. I think we had to mow only a couple of times, the last 2 summers. Our grass was crunchy splinters. So, we certainly understand. It's wonderful to see green again. I was thanking God for the rain, when everything was dry and dusty. Because He is faithful, I knew it would return. On another note, I think I could sit and listen to the pigs eat, all day long...😄

It is so special to take a walk with you, around your homestead. All your animals and fowl, look so great. Blessings with the amounts of piglets that you have to sell....and, the rest of the sows and Charlie, look very well, too. I especially enjoy looking at your cattle. The poor bunnies.....I recall you once mentioned the breeze that seems to go through their area...POor things, they look like they are panting. But, I notice their waterers are full, .....The Ducks are just beautiful. Its very pleasurable to watch them waddle to their feed. And, the quail.....they turn over in weight quite quickly, for processing, don't they. It was really enjoyable to go with you during your chores.....thanks so very much, and "God bless". Bev in Maine
