  • The Serious Incident Response Scheme: When we think about the physical and psychological cost to people who are involved in incidents we really want to identify ways to reduce the risk of incidents occurring in the first place. We also need to respond appropriately and manage incidents that do occur.
This video is an overview of the Serious incident Response Scheme (SIRS), which is a national program in Australia that rolls out on the 1st December 2022. It's designed to minimise risks and improve the response to serious incidents in the home care sector.
If you're looking for help or support to remain compliant in light of the reforms rolling out over the next year or so contact us at cdcs.com.au.
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission also delivered a number of webinars on this topic, you can find the replays on UA-cam here:

SIRS for Home Services - Webinar 2 - SIRS Reportable Incidents • SIRS for home services...

We are continually updating our policies and procedure suite to reflect the changes and supporting providers through our Total Quality Package - an all-in-one resource platform and support program that includes an annual subscription to our policies and procedures plus a range of other resources and a fortnightly online education session that focusses on helping managers and coordinators understand how to apply the reform requirements in their services.
