- I finally got round to extending the layout around the pond and i managed to incoporate a longer loop siding, am still waiting on a bridge to add and to decide what goes on under the bridge, other work ive done has been repainting the platform and restaining the original track work.

Looking good so far. One bit of advice, though, you might want to invest in a rubber mallet. It'll make driving wood into the ground easier, since you'll be able to hit the planks with more force without damaging them.
Also, again, I really do think you should consider getting a track cleaning locomotive. They're far more effective than the static cleaning pads at cleaning the track.
thanks for the advice i do have a rubber mallet somewere i was just being lazy as ive got a van full of hammers lol, if i see a track cleaning loco pop up at a reasonable price i mite go for one, ive got track cleaning wagon at the moment with abit of weight on it does a pretty good job the track rubbers more just to get years worth of grime of before i lay the track which was sat in my dads garden for years. and any odd bits on the line the trains stall on. thanks for watching, much appreciated. Tom
Great job!! I can see the next stage taking over the garden!! If you get permission that is LOL!!
thanks mate oh though i dont think my partner wants me taking up anymore of the garden of her guinea pigs lol but who nows, thanks for watching. Tom
Awesome job ... great video.. 👍
Hi Dave glad you like it, thanks for watching. Tom
im loving the gardern railway episodes
where the bridge is now i would put a point and still use the wall close to the pond as a siding too if that makes sense

If the layout was just flat I'd agree, but I think he wants to have a downward gradient so that future extensions can be placed at ground level. Plus, this way he can have two leads out of the existing portion of the layout, allowing for a much larger loop in the future.
Hi Marcus i decided that i would go for a large loop siding as it was more practical i did save some of the old track bed for a disused piece of track and in my latest update ive added another siding which looks like it would have connected to the old track to make it more interesting hopefully, thanks for the ideas and for watching. Tom
thanks for the comment i did want to have a larger loop siding i have also added a small quarry good siding and tried to make it look like it linked up with the old track, hopefully it looks ok thanks for watching and feel free to see the latest update. Tom
