    Great video! Cf-31 disappeared from Panasonic tough book global website. Figured it had been discontinued. Thanks.

    Panasonic should put a bigger track pad on the 31, add 1280x1024 resolution and keep making it. The 33 is too complicated and expensive. The resolution is nice but not great in a vehicle when larger text is a plus.

      They are actually discontinuing the CF-31. No rumor of anything yet but I'm really crossing my fingers they develop a CF-32 to directly replace the 31 and I agree with all your suggestions!

    Hello guys, i am working outside with surveillance system and home automation, i have been used my macbook for years with some huge protections but always i had some strong scratches, but i thinking to buy a back up computer stronger for work do you believe that Tough's 31 is a good choice for next years ? because the next step Tough 33 is very very expensive.

      Hey Marcos, depending on how software intensive your processes are, the CF-31 COULD be a good fit. It is a pretty dated work horse and is being phased out by Panasonic. That being said, I've had a mark 1 CF-31 function just fine for YEARS going way above and beyond what it was meant to do.

    Why the 31 costs 1600$ more than the 55?

    • @Theruggedstoretoughbooks
      @Theruggedstoretoughbooks  4 роки тому

      Hi Thanks for watching! The CF-31 costs more than the FZ-55 because they are two different durability ratings. The CF-31 is in the fully-rugged line while the FZ-55 is only semi-rugged. Both definitely have their optimal environment and use case scenarios. Chat with one of our operators at www.theruggedstore.com if you aren't sure which would be a better fit for you!

      @@Theruggedstoretoughbooks Thank you! It's weird that they charge an additional 1600$ only because it is fully-rugged.

      @@efraim. Yep but it is a combination of things including different materials, much more R&D including certifications and testing processes, build value etc. etc. that all contributes to a higher production cost of a fully rugged unit vs a semi or non rugged unit. Fully rugged definitely has its place but the higher cost is the reason I make sure to have extensive conversations with prospective customers to make sure that they are buying something they actually NEED (IE you do NOT need to pay for the more expensive fully rugged unit if it is being mounted in a vehicle for the rest of its life.) Hope this helps clear it up!

    What is the MK 1 2 3 4 5 6 mean

    • @Theruggedstoretoughbooks
      @Theruggedstoretoughbooks  3 роки тому +1

      Hey Bert! That is a designation that Panasonic gives the different generations of the same model (Mk is short for Mark.) Panasonic typically transitions marks when Intel moves to a new generation of processor and if Panasonic is not ready to discontinue the model. Most of the time there are some different improvements and variations added - beyond the changed processor - when transitioning marks, so pay close attention to the specs since some things that were standard on a previous mark of a Toughbook might not be the standard on the current mark!

      Thanks for watching! We try and film a lot of our videos from as many different angles as we can; sometimes cameras don't cooperate and footage has to be scrapped :) Thanks for the feedback!
