Thanks for the support guys, I appreciate you all! There have been a few close guesses on the new project, so stay tuned for the reveal video coming soon!
I got a 96 Ford Bronco 5.8 and seeing this clean buildup you've done on the exhaust system is so dang good. Hope I could find a good craftsman like you Sir ....
Flowmaster super 40s are my favorite muffler to put on anything, but I'm Ford biased. I think the FE is the best sounding but it's hard to choose between the sbf, modular 4.6 and 5.0 coyote
Keep up the quality work. There will always be people with deep pockets that will pay for quality work. Before you know it you’ll have more work than you know what to do with.
Hey LT, I know this is an older video, but it was exactly what I needed. Just wanted to say THANKS for the great detailed video. Made my Y-pipe in about 4 hours and crawling under the truck about 30-40 times
Excellent video series LT. Thanks for sharing. Just a suggestion: A lot of people like the big graphics of a T-shirt on the back, and a small rendering on the front pocket area. A pocket T would be great. That way you could put a small rendering on the pocket. Take care my friend.
I had a similar set up in an 89 f150 4x4 short box reg cab. 5spd 302 that I converted to mass air with mustang bolt ons. I used a flowmaster, shorty headers, no cat and exited before right rear tire. Very fun truck
Nice work on building this exhaust system and I have to agree with you on welding each section together, it looks better this way! It sounds great and I bet this exhaust made a difference on the power!
Believe it or not the stock filter and intake flow more than the stock cam and heads will let into the engine. The same filter and airbox and intake piping design are used on the 460 that makes way more power than the 351.
Ive got the same truck 93 obs short box 4x4 with the blk wido nabor hater and them muffers are worth every penny best sounding mufflers yet looking fwd to other vids with this truck 351w or 302
Love my 93 0BS with it's 5.0/331 upgraded to RCV front axles recently, with a mild build with ported GT40 iron heads of a explorer and B303 cam forged crank, pistons, and hbeams I throw a 150hp shot to the Detroit front and back with the rear having mystery brand 31 spline and girdle cover 4:10 gears. I run 31x10.50 and get laughed at until the lockers and laughing gas shoot it through the red clay and occasional snow bunny trip with ease and with the new fronts I can play all day with 4 wheels spinning instead of 3. Best part is no hubs to turn as the auto locking hubs get routine matinence and stacked o ring seals from local bearing supply so neutral to 4wd with the push of button, with serviceable real hubs.
I used your tips for building exhaust to adapt a hemi mega cab exhaust I got off FB marketplace to fit my 1500 ram took custom cuts and welding but I saved a bunch of money vs buying new your tips help a lot
Sounds good LT. Stock early 90s truck engines never really sounded powerful.. You did the best you could with what you had. That stainless system should outlive the rest of the truck! Gotta love the v-bands for serviceability! I'd like to see what he has planned for the future wideband stuff. I'm a huge fan of my Holley Sniper system. For future reference, I've heard that open single 3" exhaust will support about 370hp in a zero loss exhaust system. There's a formula that I read in a magazine several years ago. It says that you should have 2.2cfm per horsepower. 1 in² of pipe flows 115cfm. So (pi X r²)115/2.2 = supported horsepower before it starts to choke power from your engine. Let's take 3" pipe.. (3.14 x 1.5²) 115cfm/2.2cfm/hp (3.14 x 2.25) 115cfm/2.2cfm/hp (7.065) 115cfm/2.2cfm/hp 812.475cfm/2.2cfm/hp 369.30hp Maybe it's all just voodoo, but I think it works as a good rule of thumb for pipe size. You shouldn't necessarily need bigger pipes than your hp goal.
She sounds fantastic .... had a 1996 f-250 work truck with the 351w .... it was a great engine ! But not as good as the 1997 Chevy 3500 single wheel 7.4 :)
Damn, LT! Sounds awesome. Nice welds, bro-they would pass x-ray all day long. You could make a killing in the industrial pipe-fitting world. Damn nice work!
Decent. But it's a bit too tin can sounding. I prefer the Flowmaster Super 44. Your work is amazing! That's exactly what I want to do with my '93 F-250 with the 351W.
love the channel man. keep up the work. word of advice. when it comes to welding stainless pipe the bigger the cup the better the weld will turn out. i see your using your small cup still. which is perfect for aluminum. get yourself a #10 or #12 cup. should help quite a bit.
sounds great on the inside, unfortunately the outside sounds like many other mufflers, ive installed over 25 exhaust systems on those era 351's and they are almost impossible to get to make sound like a mustang.......well..you can but its going to be even more custom lol......i'll have to google what the inside of that muffler looks like, ive tried so many different brands of mufflers on those trucks and they all sound very similar to each other in sound. muffler and cat placement, exhaust pipe diameter are HUGE roles in sound.
12:50 Naw, I wanted to weld me some 2X4s together yesterday for a support for my truck, but they warped so bad, one end was flat in the ground, and the other touched the roof of my garage! Also, they was a lot of smoke and fire, is that normal, might try again tonight, I’ll use a few more clamps
Hay Lawrence love the channel keep up the great work. I dont know if you keep in contact with anyone from your old job I was wondering what Mike from Engine Power is doing now
Hey LT I have a 96 obs ford and I want to try your exhaust idea and I wasn’t just wondering about how long did it take you to build this exhaust? Thanks a ton.
Have you had good luck with your butt joints lasting ? My dad owned an exhaust shop, and I worked there along time, always did slip joints or Buick bell joints? It is nice have an exhaust tubing bender in my garage now, Love your channel, I subscribed early on. Keep up the great work
i would love to have a mandrel bender, but Im sure that takes up a ton of real estate! yeah, I've got plenty of systems like this with a ton of miles on em with no issues at all...
i hope its a bmw e34 touring that you will ls swap iand i can learn a ting or two from it :) :)...by the way cool show, keep on truckin and best wishes form Hungary/Europe :)

At the 14 second mark, you post tolmperformance.com, not tolmANperformance.com. Just a heads up
Is that a VW key???
There are very few people doing the quality of work you are my friend, you are a true craftsman! Well done!
Thank you very much!
I got a 96 Ford Bronco 5.8 and seeing this clean buildup you've done on the exhaust system is so dang good. Hope I could find a good craftsman like you Sir ....
I’m not really a Ford guy, but the SBF is one of my all time favorite sounding engines. Growing up, everybody had Fox bodies with flowmasters.
EVERYBODY.
Flowmaster super 40s are my favorite muffler to put on anything, but I'm Ford biased. I think the FE is the best sounding but it's hard to choose between the sbf, modular 4.6 and 5.0 coyote

I second this big time, I personally hate big graphics and text on the front.
Oh yeah headers will make that truck sound like a beast, black widow ftw 🤘🤘🤘
LT you definitely like the older generation trucks like alot of us do. They'll never make them this good again.
I miss living in the southwest where vehicles like this are so well preserved. 😫 damn rust belt northeast
You ain't kidding 🤣🤣
My man never blinks
takes too much concentration to remember to blink
21:43 he did
The 351 Windsor sounds awesome.
My favorite build you have rn tbh head cam and intake on this beast would be sweet

Looks and sounds so so much better. Ready for mine to get a redo.
Nice work on building this exhaust system and I have to agree with you on welding each section together, it looks better this way! It sounds great and I bet this exhaust made a difference on the power!
This guy makes amazing vids
For real
I bet a good free flowing air intake and filter would complement that exhaust sound nicely.
Believe it or not the stock filter and intake flow more than the stock cam and heads will let into the engine. The same filter and airbox and intake piping design are used on the 460 that makes way more power than the 351.
Nice sounds can't wait for the headers.
Gotta love the sound of the power steering wine on the fords lol.
It's actually a supercharger
I know that’s what you Ford owner pretend it is but this truck doesn’t have one.

Thinking a dodge magnum for the project. As for the exhaust. Black widow has me sold. Their exhausts sound amazing.
What a pretty place to live
Nice job L.T. That baby sounds good...
I'm guessing an endless money pit
Nice sounding truck and lucky to have a 5.8 in an f150 rcsb all I can find are f150s with 4.9 i6 or 5.0 in rcsb.

Sounds good. It needs a nice polished dual stainless tip.
Project key: 1982 Yugo. I’d bet my life on it. But if not that, possibly an early to mid 2000s BMW.
U do great work👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You're not easy brother!

nvm i see your using a #12 cup later in the video. keep it up. love the content
I think im going to have to swap out the muffler on my newly acquired 94 5.0 f150 they had put some cheap quiet thing on it!
Sounds great!
Personally, I like the X pipe better but still sounds gr8
wow! sounds really great!
I’m gonna take a wild guess, its a BMW lol. Possibly a 5 series?
Sounds good. Curious to hear the difference between the stock manifolds and headers!
I’ve got a long tube set up on a 95 f150 with a x pipe and black widow venom muffler it sounds wicked. I’ll have to post a video later today
Decent sound for a ford
I'd love to see you try a Gibson MWA muffler. Those are rad!
That brand makes the best 3x6 exhaust tip bit expensive but worth the look of 2 of those coming out before my rear tire
That’s a key to a Ford pinto 😁

Gotta love that exhaust, probably cost more than the whole truck 😆...jokes aside time to swap in a 408 stroker now 🤔
I just picked up a 1990 K3500 if you’re looking for more content it’s in Utah.
I’m going to vote 04-06 GTO but I don’t believe they have any markings on the key fob sooo?
It's a key for a BMW made sometime in the 1990's
Where would we be without the incredible women in our lives? That looks like an older land rover key.
Please Lt do 91 s10 pickup with retro mods as a kid of the 90's tbi swap4.3 to 5.7

Peep the classic ford fuel guage lmao. To me, you can’t beat a 90’s 351 sound and capability
Need to come on out with a tail pipe
Saving the weekend!$🤗
every car is a project car if you try hard enough ( hell I modded my metros)
Well that's officially the most expensive exhaust you can get lol. "Gotta fully tig welded exhaust on my 94 f1fitty"
Nice!! Great work. Sounds nice... :-)
That ford sounds great. I got a 88 ranger, once I do the TDI diesel swap, I'm gonna need a exhaust, just saying..
Are you going to document the swap? Im building up a s10 blazer right now to tdi swap this fall.
Damn, that'll be cool. Yes I will, I'm planning on starting it this fall as well
Hopefully it's a WS6 FireHawk, but the key dont look like it...
If it's 89 to 93 an alphabet roller cam would be a nice performance improver. The E cam carries a carb e.o. # so it's emissions legal.
BEEEEEMER!
LT in your experience would you use 304 or 409 stainless for your exhaust 409 is definitely cheaper not sure which route to go
depends a lot on the project I guess... usually I just use 409 for most "driver" type projects
Are you ls swapping an e36?..... Cough
Maybe in the future have a BMW heavier exhaust ? @Lawrence LT Tolman
Chrysler, maybe? Maybe an SRT-4? 👀

Its either a bmw or its a range rover as the l322 full size rover also uses the bmw key. Being as the full size range rover was designed by bmw
An older Subaru WRX / STI?
That is definitely a Saab key. Gotta be a Saab.
Could it be the Saab version of a Chevy Trailblazer?
Great sounding truck! Sure makes me miss my 95 Bronco
You need to get a tapeboss from deboss garage
5 series bmw key?
I'm guessing a newer charger or challenger.
Hey LT I have a 96 obs ford and I want to try your exhaust idea and I wasn’t just wondering about how long did it take you to build this exhaust? Thanks a ton.
About 3 days to be honest… but making videos of the process slows it down a bit
