      Yeah exactly. I'm always appalled at the casting sand + bits of machining chips that I find inside every Chinese engine. Every single one. I bought one of those knockoff China Stihl chainsaw clones and pulled a 1" long aluminum curly fry right out of the combustion chamber when I took it apart. Anyone who just fills a Chinese engine with oil and tries to start it is a fool. Or hasn't been bit by the Chinese QC bug before.

    it's a Sechuan Sifa MB168F. There are several companies. It will use a lot of oil during break in. I never opened the steel line. I just wired the decompressor lever down and pulled until the exhaust smelled of diesel. Afterword, I recommend cranking in the throttle stop bolt five turns and lock it. Even a small throttle will start on full fuel and drop when it starts turning. Mount it on a thick plate of aluminum, not steel. You're missing your fuel filter.

      they know the rate of failure of the stuff they sell and provide replacement parts to not have to bother with returns and warranties. a friend bought some big digital photonprinters a few years back and each machine came with at least 3 replacement for each part from rollers and PCBs to LEDs and they were still cheaper than japanese or french machines, including shipping. he still had to cannibalize four of those to have three working units after 7 years. all in all, it wasn't really worth it with the lifetime of the machine due to repair and maintenance downtime over the years and some parts are no longer available so the three will soon turn two or one working unit... 😑

    I don't want to say this: our business buys parts from China, just like most manufacturers. Ten years ago, quality was questionable at best, but now it's better than anything being made in the USA. Don't underestimate our trade frenemies... at least on the finished parts we receive, China is delivering quality stuff. Not on everything, but that is the direction they are going. I believe that Americans have an incorrect or old idea of Chinese goods and the way they are being manufactured. My advice is to NOT DISMISS the Chinese because now they are also creating unique products, not just copying our designs. We need to step up our game, stay competitive, and reclaim our manufacturing dominance. This is from someone who hates that most of our goods come from China.

    • @thahitman2
      @thahitman2 3 місяці тому

      As long as they can out produce us at a much better price we will never bring manufacturing back. Companies don't want made in the US or to support American companies they want as cheap as possible so they can mark it up 400% and sell it to broke in debt Americans. Once China takes over as the super power we will be the ones making things for them and the rest of the world for pennies on the dollar.

    • @Duken4evr29
      @Duken4evr29 3 місяці тому

      Indeed, do not dismiss the Chinese, they play the long game and they play dirty and they are capable at manufacturing for less without the pesky EPA and OSHA regulations, not to mention subsidizing the "dumping" of their products on world markets to destroy their competition.
      China of course is helping with the takedown of the US via it's toxic TikTok social media, which is intentionally designed as a weapon to destroy America's youth. There is a reason the Chinese are banned from using it.

    • @keithberwanger6595
      @keithberwanger6595 3 місяці тому +12

      For China made parts, you are paying for the QA/QC. And if ain't on the print it ain't the part. Some enginerds I worked with found that out when they didn't specify mil-spec on some anodized 6061 parts and just put "black anodize" before chamfering and deburring on the operations list.
      They then complained when acetone dissolved the cheap anodize and the parts were deburred after they were dipped.
      Good prints + good qa = good parts. Bad shops have bad qa (or none) and make parts. Especially of these rapid prototyping companies that outsource your sanitized prints, I made better parts on a Laguna knee mill with a p-vise and a Bison rotab than what Xometry would "rapid response" for us.
      Machinists don't get paid enough, they want CNC operators to press buttons and every engineering team is trying to convince the bean counters to budget a cheap 5 axis they'll use once a year.
      My heart goes out to every machinist on a mill or lathe because I know they aren't making enough,

    Take the crankcase cover off the engine and inspect for metal shards and debris. The Chinese reuse the engine oil from engine to engine when they test run them and when they reuse the oil, it is not filtered like the United States does. I have found that if they have previously had a catastrophic failure, that contaminated oil will go into the next engine and while the next engine may not be affected by the contaminated oil, the oil will leave metal shards and debris behind in the good new test run engine. Do yourself a favor and purchase a new gasket and take the cover off of the crankcase and wash the inside of the engine out with mineral spirits and then refill with fresh oil. Also never use the oil that comes with any Chinese engine, unless it is sae rated. The Chinese use oils from things that would blow our minds if we knew what they were and I know some of what they are and I am not going into detail on here

      It could make it run for a very long time down through the years!!!!
