My theory is that the brotherly bond between Mario and Luigi will be the main theme. Reuniting with each other is their top priority. Peach uses this as a bargaining chip: if Mario helps her stop Bowser, she'll help him find Luigi. Luigi won't spend the entire movie in captivity. When they get sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom, he was carrying a toolkit. In his official poster, he has a flashlight. In all the scenes with him and Bowser in the trailer, he doesn't have these. Luigi will escape on his own and traverse the Dark Lands to look for Mario. He'll use the tools to defend himself and sabotage Bowser. Mario will incorporate the "run and jump" traditional platforming side of the franchise. Luigi will showcase the exploration and puzzle solving side as seen in Luigi's Mansion.
And in the third act, Peach will take Luigi’s place as hostage to protect Mario and Luigi. That would fit well for not just her original role, but her role in the Illumination canon.
I think Luigi would also count on Yoshi's help! More or less, Yoshi would be trapped with Luigi, and the two end up teaming up to get away from Bowser! could also be Lumelee, which was found in McDonald's toys it would be really cool!
My thought as to the context of why Mario and DK are fighting is that the Kongs require Mario and/or the Mushroom Kingdom to prove their a worthy ally so the fight is essentially a trial to gain the aid of the Kongs. As for Luigi I’m betting he will get a side plot of trying to escape Bowser’s castle and facing his fears of the monstrous minions of Bowser.
As a Brazilian, I'm not worried with the voice performance. I was optimistic from the first trailer, and with the reference overdose of the second I got hyped
The thing is, Luigi is just a better motivation for Mario to take action than some princess he never met. Through getting to know the Princess on a journey Mario can develop a special friendship not only to her, but also to the Mushroom Kingdom, which can give him the Motivation to save Peach and the Kingdom over and over again in the future, since now they're like a new home and family to him. Not to mention, since Luigi is his brother, Mario already has a strong relationship to him, while rescuing Peach would be super anti climactic in my opinion, he doesn't know her in this scenario, so the stakes just aren't as high. A girl not being well recieved as a damsel in distress in 2022 doesn't matter here, for the kind of story this Movie wants to tell, Peach just isn't the best choice.
as long as Luigi isn't just the damsel in distress, and learns to use Power Ups and defeat enemies (Koopas, Goombas, Hammer Bros, Buzzy Beetles, and of course, Boos), I'm fine with that
One theory that I have that might make this a very bold step for this film to take is that in this film continuity the reason Peach is so headstrong and serious about stopping Bowser is because Bowser killed Peach’s parents (the King and Queen of the Mushroom Kingdom) in the past which is why we don’t see them in the present.
Luigi being the damsel in distress makes perfect sense to me. With Luigi being Mario’s brother, Mario actually will have motive to want to train, go on a huge adventure, and risk his life. If anything, it would show just how strong the bond between the brothers are. But if Peach was the damsel again, it would be weird considering Mario and Peach have never met until now. Sure he could fall in love with her, but that motive is still flimsy in my opinion. I don’t think this decision was made because it’s 2022 and the woman waiting for a man trope is old, but because it just makes more sense because of what I already mentioned And I don’t really think being kidnapped is an out of character trait for Luigi??? It was something out of his control, especially since he’s in a whole new world

Or maybe once Bowser sees Peach, he wants her instead of Luigi and so gives them the option. At this point in the movie her and Mario would probably be very close, so him having motive to want to save her would be there
I actually think Peach being Mario’s mentor is perfect because not only does it make sense in context of the setting and each character’s experience, but it can also allow Mario and Peach to gain a bond that gives Mario the motive to rescue Peach in his future adventures.

It seems like Mario might be “the chosen one” too and Peach probably knows of this prophecy and has been preparing for him to arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom her whole life, preparing to train him and all that, but that’s just speculation on my part

@@chadpeterson5698 Bowser so far seems to be a HUGE step in the right direction. It seems that this film is actually taking Bowser very seriously and his actions are probably more heinous than we think what with him wanting to conquer the WORLD and destroying the Penguin Kingdom and leaving it in ruin as we see on the map in the second trailer that the Penguin Kingdom was flat out engulfed in lava and flames and turned into a burning wasteland (really hope they’re bold enough to have it flat out confirmed that all of the penguins were killed from Bowser’s reign in the process). I don’t wanna jinx it just yet though because we have no idea if he’ll be much more comedic in other scenes of the full movie or not.
Oh boy do I have some interesting theories. I think that the Donkey Kong scene is meant to be a test of strength for Mario. Also, I think that Bowser is going to serve as a villain that manipulates Mario and Luigi in some sort of guilt. What if Mario and Peach have flashbacks of Bowser doing something horrific, such as killing off their parents. How do Peach and Toad already know who Bowser even is when Mario first arrives. Maybe during the fire flower scene where Peach says "It's a big universe out there" Peach gives an emotional back story as to why Bowser needs to be defeated. Peach could then explain that Bowser killed her parents. Maybe Bowser also killed Mario's parents. Both he and Kamek seem to already know about the existence of Mario when they capture Luigi. Bowser literally saying "There's a human, who has a mustache, just like you." Kamek then says "The mustached human has arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom". Does Bowser recognize Luigi? Perhaps we get a back story about either Mario Bros. (1983) or Yoshi's Island. What if Bowser's plan is a form of revenge after getting defeated in a previous attempt to invade the Mushroom Kingdom, considering that Peach and Toad already know who Bowser is when Mario first arrives. Maybe Bowser learned from his mistakes of the past and is collecting all of the power stars to try and become unstoppable. Idk, these are just some theories that I have in my head.
I have a theory, what if they launch a bonus short called "The Other Princess", where two Toads just stay in the castle while the others are helping Mario in his quest, so they think that they can do whatever they want, but they get bossed by a Peach look-a-like to do their duty, while they think she's the real Peach, so they still care about her, so they guard her and protect her, in the end, she gets hit and losses the crown, and turns out that this fake Peach was Toadette, wearing the "one and only crown used for emergencies when Peach has something important to do", or as a simple term, a Super Crown, so they become friends and secret keepers
The Toads in question could be Blue and Yellow from New Super Mario Bros Wii! By the way, it would be nice if they had more of a scheming, con-man personality.

A good theory I think is that Mario dosent really value Luigi in the beginning with the plumbing business being called super Mario bros plumbing and the adventure of having to save Luigi has Mario change his priorities for Luigi

I do think that Peach will get kidnapped in the movie, but probably around the final act of the movie since it looks like she is going to be a main character.

Donkey Kong Jr is going to be merged with Funky Kong, they are both Kongs that wear white tops so the studio will make them the same to save on editing in two Kongs.
A Nintendo Cinematic Universe has potential to be the next epic franchise, but I feel like a lot of Nintendo's IPs would work better as Animated Series rather than movies. But we'll just have to wait and see.
Especially the Zelda series, Metroid, and Kid Icarus, also if they ever adapt Metroid, Ridley BETTER be seen as a serious character, if he isn’t I will drop the rating of the adaptation by 4 points regardless of whether or not everything else is good. What do you mean it happened to Sonic? The movie cast weren't in Sonic Frontiers nor any other game that I know of, Sonic's game cast is still the same as it was the last few games. (Other than Tails voice but then she was from the games before the movie.)
Here is my theory that I am hopeful for, the reason Bowser is trying to take over everything is because he is just bored. Bowser didn't exactly have the best childhood since he was so strong that not only would he break all of his toys, but also potential friends. So now he has taken the star for himself as a challenge to the other lands to send a worthy warrior that can stand up to Bowser's power to finally test his metal and bring some happiness back into his life.
Maybe Wario could appear in Super Mario Bros. 2, It would be interesting if Bowser hires Wario as a Hitman to kill Mario and if Wario succeeds then Bowser will pay Wario a good amount of coins for helping him get rid of an obstacle. Of course Wario would fail otherwise we would not have a movie or franchise anymore. But this could start Wario's Rivalry with Mario and his own adventures to get rich. Also maybe Bowser Jr. could be in Super Mario Bros. 2. Bowser Jr. would want to help his father to take down Mario. Maybe Mario will have to help Yoshi in the sequel too. Also Among one of the Islands I would love to see would be Isle Delfino. If Nintendo and a Movie Company were to make Metroid the Movie, would you want to see it be Live Action, Animated or a mix of both. Also it would be interesting if Ridley were to be given either a Screechy high voice or a deep threatening one but in english instead of gibberish roars. Wario and WaLuigi could be imposters in the sequel who try to use Mario and Luigi's new found fame to try and make quick cash by being a bootleg Mario and Luigi "heroes for hire" Mario and Luigi end up getting blamed for their hero scams and possibly kicked out the mushroom kingdom, Wario then takes over Peaches castle and becomes the new ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom and it's. up to Mario and Luigi and Peach to stop them, get the castle back and clear their name. Could thow a little romance between Daisy and Luigi in there too, perfect sequel, boom.

If they ever make a Kirby movie I'm expecting an epic final battle with Kirby, Bandana Dee, King Dedede, and Meta Knight teaming up against one of the final bosses [Marx is a pretty popular one, but Magalor fits the scenario better, and Dark Mind is an underrated final boss in my opinion, and maybe not Nightmare (unless he doesn't go down in one hit like in the anime) 0 and 02 are not appropriate, especially for Illumination]

Like which leitmotif themes can, will, and SHOULD be used in the score of the animated feature adaptation of the iconic and legendary video game franchise. I have a DK theory: After Mario lost the fight, Cranky tells them they can't go trough if they can't win, but then, someone reminds him of Mario Kart, so they race on the Rainbow Road.
Then, Mario tells them that Bowser tries to rule the world and (if he already knows it) he abducted his twin brother. Donkey and the others would immediately choose to help Mario to defeat Bowser and rescue Luigi.
Actually while I'm not worried about Chris Pratt as Mario, (I honestly don't mind it myself) Charlie Day as Luigi does have me a bit worried cuz his voice comes off as to shrill.
I dislike the idea that Luigi is captured and not princesses peach especially for an Origin story and you don’t have to sacrifice peach’s femme fatale personality they did that in super Mario adventure
With Mario fighting Donkey Kong I think its a way to prove that Mario, Toad, and Peach are worthy allies to fight alongside the Kongs against Bowser cuz if Mario wins then the Kongs will help them in their cause and if he loses then Mario, Peach, and Toad will leave Kong Island without the aid of the Kongs.
Ever since the first look I’ve thought a game adaptation would be fantastic for this movie. The world looks incredible and a game in the same visual style would blow me away
It’s also been a while since we’ve last seen some characters. If a Smash Bros gets prepared, Fox, Ness and Captain Falcon need to come back in this movie and their own movies! In the case of the other playable characters from their series, I don’t care if they don’t appear physically, but they need to get mentioned by the character (If they’re related). For example, Falco has to get mentioned at least once by Fox during the movie, but he can also appear by himself. On the other hand, Idc if Ness don’t mention Lucas, since they canonically don’t know each other.
there has been a few Pokemon movies especially the most recent Detective Pikachu and I do wonder how Mario going to go since many people are Critical of his voice actor but I’m sure many people are still going to see it since it quite the talk

Bowser provides king boo with his army king boo then provides his ghost to Bowser to help him get princess peach. King boo keeps princess peach to attract Mario then he kidnaps Mario, king boo vetrays Bowser and puts him in a painting along with Mario and princess peach. Luigi is accidentally left on a train that goes the professor E-Gadd. At least I’m not rude to the creators even if I get annoyed sometimes.
My theory is that the brotherly bond between Mario and Luigi will be the main theme. Reuniting with each other is their top priority.
Peach uses this as a bargaining chip: if Mario helps her stop Bowser, she'll help him find Luigi.
Luigi won't spend the entire movie in captivity. When they get sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom, he was carrying a toolkit. In his official poster, he has a flashlight. In all the scenes with him and Bowser in the trailer, he doesn't have these.
Luigi will escape on his own and traverse the Dark Lands to look for Mario. He'll use the tools to defend himself and sabotage Bowser.
Mario will incorporate the "run and jump" traditional platforming side of the franchise. Luigi will showcase the exploration and puzzle solving side as seen in Luigi's Mansion.
And in the third act, Peach will take Luigi’s place as hostage to protect Mario and Luigi. That would fit well for not just her original role, but her role in the Illumination canon.
I think Luigi would also count on Yoshi's help!
More or less, Yoshi would be trapped with Luigi, and the two end up teaming up to get away from Bowser!

My thought as to the context of why Mario and DK are fighting is that the Kongs require Mario and/or the Mushroom Kingdom to prove their a worthy ally so the fight is essentially a trial to gain the aid of the Kongs. As for Luigi I’m betting he will get a side plot of trying to escape Bowser’s castle and facing his fears of the monstrous minions of Bowser.
Honestly if Pratt’s Mario ends up being the weakest performance, I couldn’t care less honestly I just wanna enjoy this movie and its storyline 😊!!!!!!

The thing is, Luigi is just a better motivation for Mario to take action than some princess he never met.
Through getting to know the Princess on a journey Mario can develop a special friendship not only to her, but also to the Mushroom Kingdom, which can give him the Motivation to save Peach and the Kingdom over and over again in the future, since now they're like a new home and family to him.
Not to mention, since Luigi is his brother, Mario already has a strong relationship to him,
while rescuing Peach would be super anti climactic in my opinion, he doesn't know her in this scenario, so the stakes just aren't as high.
A girl not being well recieved as a damsel in distress in 2022 doesn't matter here, for the kind of story this Movie wants to tell, Peach just isn't the best choice.
as long as Luigi isn't just the damsel in distress, and learns to use Power Ups and defeat enemies (Koopas, Goombas, Hammer Bros, Buzzy Beetles, and of course, Boos), I'm fine with that

One theory that I have that might make this a very bold step for this film to take is that in this film continuity the reason Peach is so headstrong and serious about stopping Bowser is because Bowser killed Peach’s parents (the King and Queen of the Mushroom Kingdom) in the past which is why we don’t see them in the present.
Luigi being the damsel in distress makes perfect sense to me. With Luigi being Mario’s brother, Mario actually will have motive to want to train, go on a huge adventure, and risk his life. If anything, it would show just how strong the bond between the brothers are. But if Peach was the damsel again, it would be weird considering Mario and Peach have never met until now. Sure he could fall in love with her, but that motive is still flimsy in my opinion. I don’t think this decision was made because it’s 2022 and the woman waiting for a man trope is old, but because it just makes more sense because of what I already mentioned
And I don’t really think being kidnapped is an out of character trait for Luigi??? It was something out of his control, especially since he’s in a whole new world

@@emoji3266 I think something similar to this could definitely happen. Maybe Peach sacrifices herself for her kingdom because she realizes her Toads are no match for Koopas. Or maybe once Bowser sees Peach, he wants her instead of Luigi and so gives them the option. At this point in the movie her and Mario would probably be very close, so him having motive to want to save her would be there
I actually think Peach being Mario’s mentor is perfect because not only does it make sense in context of the setting and each character’s experience, but it can also allow Mario and Peach to gain a bond that gives Mario the motive to rescue Peach in his future adventures.

It seems like Mario might be “the chosen one” too and Peach probably knows of this prophecy and has been preparing for him to arrive in the Mushroom Kingdom her whole life, preparing to train him and all that, but that’s just speculation on my part

@@chadpeterson5698 Bowser so far seems to be a HUGE step in the right direction. It seems that this film is actually taking Bowser very seriously and his actions are probably more heinous than we think what with him wanting to conquer the WORLD and destroying the Penguin Kingdom and leaving it in ruin as we see on the map in the second trailer that the Penguin Kingdom was flat out engulfed in lava and flames and turned into a burning wasteland (really hope they’re bold enough to have it flat out confirmed that all of the penguins were killed from Bowser’s reign in the process). I don’t wanna jinx it just yet though because we have no idea if he’ll be much more comedic in other scenes of the full movie or not.
Oh boy do I have some interesting theories.
I think that the Donkey Kong scene is meant to be a test of strength for Mario.
Also, I think that Bowser is going to serve as a villain that manipulates Mario and Luigi in some sort of guilt. What if Mario and Peach have flashbacks of Bowser doing something horrific, such as killing off their parents. How do Peach and Toad already know who Bowser even is when Mario first arrives.
Maybe during the fire flower scene where Peach says "It's a big universe out there" Peach gives an emotional back story as to why Bowser needs to be defeated. Peach could then explain that Bowser killed her parents.
Maybe Bowser also killed Mario's parents. Both he and Kamek seem to already know about the existence of Mario when they capture Luigi. Bowser literally saying "There's a human, who has a mustache, just like you." Kamek then says "The mustached human has arrived in the Mushroom Kingdom". Does Bowser recognize Luigi? Perhaps we get a back story about either Mario Bros. (1983) or Yoshi's Island.
What if Bowser's plan is a form of revenge after getting defeated in a previous attempt to invade the Mushroom Kingdom, considering that Peach and Toad already know who Bowser is when Mario first arrives. Maybe Bowser learned from his mistakes of the past and is collecting all of the power stars to try and become unstoppable.
Idk, these are just some theories that I have in my head.
I have a theory, what if they launch a bonus short called "The Other Princess", where two Toads just stay in the castle while the others are helping Mario in his quest, so they think that they can do whatever they want, but they get bossed by a Peach look-a-like to do their duty, while they think she's the real Peach, so they still care about her, so they guard her and protect her, in the end, she gets hit and losses the crown, and turns out that this fake Peach was Toadette, wearing the "one and only crown used for emergencies when Peach has something important to do", or as a simple term, a Super Crown, so they become friends and secret keepers
-and then they're like "wait! you're not the princess!" and she says "your princess is in another castle"-

A Nintendo Cinematic Universe has potential to be the next epic franchise, but I feel like a lot of Nintendo's IPs would work better as Animated Series rather than movies. But we'll just have to wait and see.
Especially the Zelda series, Metroid, and Kid Icarus, also if they ever adapt Metroid, Ridley BETTER be seen as a serious character, if he isn’t I will drop the rating of the adaptation by 4 points regardless of whether or not everything else is good. I think that Donkey Kong is challenging Mario to see if they are truly worthy of his help. It's probably not the invader theory.
Here is my theory that I am hopeful for, the reason Bowser is trying to take over everything is because he is just bored. Bowser didn't exactly have the best childhood since he was so strong that not only would he break all of his toys, but also potential friends. So now he has taken the star for himself as a challenge to the other lands to send a worthy warrior that can stand up to Bowser's power to finally test his metal and bring some happiness back into his life.
Maybe Wario could appear in Super Mario Bros. 2, It would be interesting if Bowser hires Wario as a Hitman to kill Mario and if Wario succeeds then Bowser will pay Wario a good amount of coins for helping him get rid of an obstacle. Of course Wario would fail otherwise we would not have a movie or franchise anymore. But this could start Wario's Rivalry with Mario and his own adventures to get rich. Also maybe Bowser Jr. could be in Super Mario Bros. 2. Bowser Jr. would want to help his father to take down Mario. Maybe Mario will have to help Yoshi in the sequel too.

Like which leitmotif themes can, will, and SHOULD be used in the score of the animated feature adaptation of the iconic and legendary video game franchise. And perhaps, if the composer, working in tandem partnership with veteran Mario franchise composer Koji Kondo, will be producing a bit of original music for the movie. Oh, and maybe compare and contrast the dynamic effect of using a lot of the famous and iconic music and themes from the many video games in the Super Mario franchise too.
Oh! In relation to the aforementioned above, could you also do a video on which music tracks and leitmotif themes best suit the characters of the Super Mario franchise (as well as its many setting locations and action sequences)?
For me, in my opinion, I have ideas for which certain music (and leitmotif themes) would be VERY PERFECT for a few select characters to be used in TSMBM.

1. I mean, its super Mario bros. Who doesnt think super Mario bros is iconic?!?!
2. They are making the movie in many different languages, and like you said, super Mario bros is popular in many places.
3. This movie is already EVERYWHERE on the media, so im predicting many people will see it in theatres.

think luigi will find his own way out(maybe encountering e. gadd & would love princess daisy helping him as i hope that desert area is sarasaland,maybe with luigi falling there escaping bowser.) as well as mario fighting donkey kong will be him getting the kongs on their side fighting him as a challenge to get their approval(the kongs/dk do jump into action first without thinking a lot.) and with nintendo pictures would love other nintendo series(fire emblem,zelda,metroid,kirby would prefer a continuation to the anime,splatoon,warioware,star fox & kid icarus.) getting movies/shorts eventually leading to a super smash bros. movie.(definitely if it has the 3rd parties like megaman,street fighter,metal gear,sonic,persona & especially bayonetta.:3)

Its good to finally have an idea on what this movie is gonna be like.
I have a DK theory:
After Mario lost the fight, Cranky tells them they can't go trough if they can't win, but then, someone reminds him of Mario Kart, so they race on the Rainbow Road.
Then, Mario tells them that Bowser tries to rule the world and (if he already knows it) he abducted his twin brother. Donkey and the others would immediately choose to help Mario to defeat Bowser and rescue Luigi.
Actually while I'm not worried about Chris Pratt as Mario, (I honestly don't mind it myself) Charlie Day as Luigi does have me a bit worried cuz his voice comes off as to shrill.
I dislike the idea that Luigi is captured and not princesses peach especially for an Origin story and you don’t have to sacrifice peach’s femme fatale personality they did that in super Mario adventure

With Mario fighting Donkey Kong I think its a way to prove that Mario, Toad, and Peach are worthy allies to fight alongside the Kongs against Bowser cuz if Mario wins then the Kongs will help them in their cause and if he loses then Mario, Peach, and Toad will leave Kong Island without the aid of the Kongs.

Ever since the first look I’ve thought a game adaptation would be fantastic for this movie. The world looks incredible and a game in the same visual style would blow me away
We already got some pokemon movies but a donkey kong movie or show is good along with link and kirby as well
It’s also been a while since we’ve last seen some characters. If a Smash Bros gets prepared, Fox, Ness and Captain Falcon need to come back in this movie and their own movies! In the case of the other playable characters from their series, I don’t care if they don’t appear physically, but they need to get mentioned by the character (If they’re related). For example, Falco has to get mentioned at least once by Fox during the movie, but he can also appear by himself. On the other hand, Idc if Ness don’t mention Lucas, since they canonically don’t know each other.
Why do I feel that this will become Illumination's highest-grisdimg film since Minions?

there has been a few Pokemon movies especially the most recent Detective Pikachu and I do wonder how Mario going to go since many people are Critical of his voice actor but I’m sure many people are still going to see it since it quite the talk

I'd like to see a Luigi's mansion movie. Where Bowser most likely makes a deal with king boo to help him take over all the other kingdoms. Bowser provides king boo with his army king boo then provides his ghost to Bowser to help him get princess peach. King boo keeps princess peach to attract Mario then he kidnaps Mario, king boo vetrays Bowser and puts him in a painting along with Mario and princess peach.
Luigi is accidentally left on a train that goes the professor E-Gadd. Luigi hears about Mario being kidnapped so E-gadd gives him an experimental project call the poltergeist, E-Gadd then tells Luigi about evershade valley so Luigi heads there to defeat king boo with the poltergeist
