#flowersintheattic #theorigin #prequel #series
V.C.Andrews was an amazing writer! I'm glad her novels are coming to life on screen ❤️. Can't wait to see it.
I know right. I first heard about "Flowers In The Attic", through My Friend who was into Stephen King, and a Book called Teddy about a Little Boy named Jamie who is controlled by his Teddy Bear. I thought she was crazy when she told me about the "origin" In School many of My Friends read them. So many other Actresses could have played Olivia. The Actress who played Chumsky on Call the Midwife, Lucy Lee Flippin (Eliza Jane Wilder) on Little House On The Prairie or even The Actress who played Virginia Woolf in Vita & Virginia.
I hope they make the prequels worth the original Corine and garland- he was such a sick f*** and Malcom was turning into him. Sooooo good
Yes, but she didn't write a prequel. It is based on information she did give in the book series.
Looking forward to this. Definitely guilty pleasure viewing. Plus this looks like a higher quality production for Lifetime.
This was the first series I read. I started from the beginning at age 8, stealing my mom's VC Andrew's books. I'd hide it under my pillow and after everyone went to sleep stay up hours reading. As I recall there were 4 books, Garden of Shadows, Flowers in the Attic, Petals in the Wind, If there be Thorns.
It's been 23 years so I may be very wrong.
I remember watching the first Flowers in the Attic where at the end the mom dies but was so disappointed by it.
I'm really hoping this one does the book their due justice.
@@vixxxenfoxxx3660 There is 5 books in this series. The one you left out is - Seeds of Yesterday. Lifetime already did 4 of the books just a few years back, you should check them out. Flowers and Petals are the 2 best of of the 4 IMO.
@@vixxxenfoxxx3660 They also have another 3 or 4 that came out recently as well. Christopher's diary 1 and 2. Shadows of Foxworth and I believe secret brother
@@kaylabell7126 Wait, what? That's awesome. Thank you for letting me know. Are they pretty good and follow V.C Andrew's style?
@@brion0220 Dang it, usually I'm pretty good at remembering them all. I have seen the lifetime movies and really hoping this new one really respects Ms. Andrews vision.
Just finished the whole part 4 series and I just don’t understand how quick Corinne changed. I get her mother but how could she just abandoned her children like that knowing her family history and fleeing Fox worth hall so many years ago. She could of easily found another way.
Corinne was a very selfish being, at heart. She really was her father’s daughter.
Assume she had kids for Christopher and to keep him happy. As long as he was around, she didn’t mind them much. But once he was gone, they no longer served a purpose. And she thought she couldn’t get another man of wealth with 4 kids. She just only thought in terms of what she wanted. When she wanted Christopher, the kids were just part of that deal.
@@christyt4249 That is a heavy and true analysis. I finished watching this Movie and I am from Canada. This was the "Best" one as far as I'm concerned and although they did some "changes" it was a Masterpiece. I hope they do a Miniseries based on "Out Of The Attic" & "Beneath The Attic". Corrine's Grandmother for whom she was named on Malcolm's insistence had such a horrific life as well.
@@laminage Lifetime isn't know for high quality movies...but I agree this was very well done
Olivia is sympathetic in the show. Treats servants well where she treated them below her in the novel.
at the end that was not the same grandmother that locked those kids up. Both Burnstyn and Fletcher were far meaner in Flowers. A fifth episode would have been better. Only that really would have worked was Malcomb’s involvement behind the scene.
This was an absolute triumph. I've already watched it all 3 times. Its bloody brilliant.
They should have named it Garden of Shadows after the book but I can't wait!!
Not really cause this is how everything started so it makes sense
@@93aihtnyc Garden of Shadows is how it started. It goes from Olivia's teen years up to the present in FITA.
Let’s hope the second half does not follow the book. Andrews only wrote first half.
@@blabbermouth777 actually from what's come out, unless something new has been revealed, she never got around to writing Garden of Shadows for she only signed the contract but was in the advanced stages of cancer at that point and died before she started it. GOS is all the ghostwriter's work.
@@MTiger86 google disagrees. I think she wrote the first 140 pages but can’t remember.
God I cant wait, I marked it on my calendar already. I'm so happy the momentum V.C. Andrews has gotten in the past decade, as I remember when these books first came out....just telling my age here, but they were always great books. I think V.C. Andrews would be so excited to see how her books have inspired movies, and now tv series. RIP V.C. Andrews, thanks for the great memories that you still continue to inspire us with even through to this day❤❤❤❤
Watching the 3 episodes so far I think Max Irons and Jemima Rooper nail these parts and honestly the best production lifetime has made
Agreed!
Paul Wesley from TVD and King Edward from TWQ!!! Dreams do come true!!! 😍😍😍👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍿🎟🎥
It was so Interesting seeing these two Flesh out characters .... Neither likeable!
I can't wait for this. Now my collection is complete with Flowers IN The Attic.
Amazing, the production is ×10 better before the other movies, this must of cost millions and you see it!!
Ma'am, I'm still gonna judge you for abusing your grandchildren like that! 😐
Step-Grandchildren. You will hate her more after
The costumes look good, especially in the 1920s/30s portion of the trailer!
Olivia was dowdy and unfashionable in the book but I don't mind that she is attractive in the film.
Garden of Shadows? That book was amazing 🤩
Read all the books, watched the movies. Let's see how they do. One of my favorite series
I'm so excited for this movie. Even tho I have no sympathy for Olivia I still enjoyed Garden of Shadows
Same here. I read Flowers in the Attic, Petals in the wind & If there be Thorns first and then Garden of Shadows. No matter how hard I tried I couldn't feel any sympathy for Olivia.
I have high hopes for this movie, they focused on the Doll House so maybe this is a good sign they'll really follow the material.
I read all these at only 8. I stole them from my mom's bookshelf. It's actually funny thinking back on it now. She introduced me to the Runaways series by VC Andrew's but after finishing those I was determined to read the good ones. I'll admit, the incest was hard for me to grasp, especially, as a kid. All sex to me was 'super eww' so I'd hurry through it. Typical kid.
@@vixxxenfoxxx3660 I also read the books as a kid and I was shocked by every single one of them, and yet, I couldn't stop reading. My mom was too old to read them when they first came out in the 80's, but my aunt read them. I'm still surprised that she didn't warn me about them lmao. This movie looks ten times better than the other VC Andrews adaptions they've made. I hope it's good!
I hope they continue to make the Beneath and Out of the Attic as well before remaking the Original 4 and the newest installments that came out a few years ago!
I think all of them are into this one
Kate Mulgrews in it!!! I’m so excited!!!🥰🥰🥰
Max Irons, the son of the incredible Jeremy Irons! This is going to be interesting. He’s going to be as well known as his father one day.
I wish there was a Story where Malcom has his Stroke and "before" Corrine comes back and Joel tells him that in order to make amends for his Sins, he should write it down in a Journal. I think that after Corrine (His Mother) left him, it traumatized him. Maybe Garland wasn't there for him growing up, maybe he wasn't there for a Father/Son Dinner at Yale because he got the Dates mixed up, maybe he was Angry that the "Love" he gave Alicia should have been given rightfully to his Mother. How Malcolm took over the Firm with an Iron Fist and made it into the success story it became.
Just finished watching all four of Lifetime's "Flowers in the Attic" movies. THIS FAMILY IS WITHOUT A DOUBT TWISTED BUT INTERESTING. I read the Book in High School and have been a Fan ever since. I will be watching the new movie to find out how the Foxworth story began.
8 years after the first one! They took their time !
Also I once heard that Foxworth Hall was inspired by The TV Series Dark Shadows. That Family was just as disturbed even without Barnabas Collins.
So glad this is a mini series
It looks like this film will explore Malcolm's incestuous feelings towards Corrine which were only hinted at in the book.
Oh this looks amazing!! I'm really excited about it!
I’m ready for season two of it or when they finish bc the actors are so good
I just can't get over the guy from Condor being in this.
Thought I was watching ike and Tina when Malcolm and Olivia be whooping each other's ass the best life time production ever put together
I didn't care much for the flowers in the attic books, except for this one. it was the best one. The series is much better than the book, too.
I would love to know who does the song in this trailer! It's Amazing!!
Me too
It’s called “Through The Darkness” and it’s by VideoHelper.
we need a season 2
I just watched it … and man was I not disappointed… the actors .. the art .. everything is perfect ..
SPOILER ALERT:
The most shocking part for me was when we understand after all thoses rapes .. that Corrine and Christopher or not only uncle and niece but half sister and brother .. And the grand-ma after all thoses rapes .. murder.. lies and her freaking cousins at the end … man .. what a horror story indeed .💔
Just watched first episode! HOOKED! Wooow
I wonder if they’ll tell the truth about Corrine & Christopher? It’ll be a waste if they omit that part of the story.
About them being brother and sister? I never liked that part.
I wonder if they will put "family relations" in this one too? Wasn't the first movie/book about a brother and sister that had a kid because they were locked in the attic for years?
Corinne and Chris Sr share the same biological mother (Alicia). Corinne’s father is Malcolm Sr and Garland is both father to Chris Sr and Malcolm Sr.
Alicia was put in the attic when she was pregnant with Corinne, because Olivia didn’t wanted a scandal. After Corinne was born, Alicia and Chris Sr had to move out. Olivia and Malcolm Sr raised Corinne.
After the death of Alicia many years later, Chris Sr was invited to live with Olivia and Malcolm Sr again.
Corinne was told that Chris Sr was her half-uncle, and they never knew he was her half brother as well. Despite that, they fell in love. And where later kicked out.
They two had Chris Jr, Cathy, Carrie and Cory. They lived in the attic, just as Alicia once did. Cathy got a son, Jory with the ballet dancer Julian and a son, Bart Jr with Corinne’s second husband Bart Sr. Later Cathy married Paul and raised Bart Jr as his son. However Chris Jr and Cathy never had a biological child together, but they did adopt a girl, Cindy who looked like she could have been their own a few years after Paul died, when they were married. And Chris Sr and Corinne never lived in the attic.
Lifetime adapted a good deal of the other books and did have a lot of incest. I think with this one it's basically the dad being interested in his daughter, but by the end, she runs off with his brother, her uncle.
They named it flowers in the attic cause my guess is this is the first season...and if the whole series was called something....it would be appropriate to call it flowers in the attic...
ITS HERE FINALLY!!!!!!! AHHHH!!!! BTW I'm a huge fan!!!!
What is the name of the background song?
Is it on UA-cam?
Looks Twisted/Disturbing.. I'm Game 🍿💀👍
Where can I watch this??
Maybe they will do the prequel of ruby to this
When it out
Where can we watch this in the Uk?
I couldn't put the book down that's how good it was
How can you watch in Australia??
There's no way that mansion in this miniseries could have transformed into that CGI-looking mess in Lifetime's FITA. It looks like this prequel will be a better fit for the 1987 movie.
WOW one day before my birthday with my own children...
Omg can't wait!!!
that looks better then the first 1
I hope Je.ima Rooper and Max Irons win Emmy Awards next year.
I hope they are not overlooked since its on Lifetime
is this coming out in UK? We don't get lifetime in UK anymore 😭.
Good book
Is this going to be two parts or 3 hours because it has A LOT going on in this trailer?
Its a 4 part 4 week limited series they taking this off TV u can download frndly for $4 a month and watch both episodes out now they come on every Saturday night
About 7 hrs
Are they implying a gay relationship at 1:58? Because Malcom was definitely straight/ a womanizer in the book
But what about Joel? In the book is not explained his sexuality. I mean, Malcolm father was always arguing his second son was a feminine boy. And due to recent times, I think Lifetime is going to add a gay relationship so the series does it well with the public. Or what do you think?
Yep, they made Joel straight up gay. I think it was an okay retcon because they have 8 hours to fill, heh heh. Unfortunately, Chris Sr. and Corinne's relationship is on the back burner while Joel takes center stage.
@@targaghjj Really ? They focus more on Joel than Corinne ? And Joel was supposed to have become a monk (if you believe that the old man in Seeds of Yesterday was really Joel).
@@thomasfranche6770 - Well, Carrie *did* become a nun (if I'm not mistaken), with no prompting from any of her siblings, so perhaps 'penance' runs in the bloodlines of the Foxworths... 🤔
@@CynAnne1 No. Carrie never became a nun. She commited suicide during her engagement to a protestant minister, that (her being uncomfortable around more religiously-oriented people) and after Corrine denied her on the street. I think if that dude in the preview is supposed to be Joel, then it's just a sign of the times, recasting that character into a gay dude in an interracial relationship (obligatory gay/black token characters) before running away from Foxworth Hall, becoming a musician, getting lost in the Alps and getting rescued by Monks (again, if the old man in Seeds of Yesterday is to be believed).
There are also so many other Stories I would have loved to have Read. What Paul Scott Sheffield`s Life was like `Before` The children came into his life. What kind of husband was he really to his Childhood Sweetheart Julia. What was his relationship really like with his Sister Amanda. Also I would have loved for there to be a Story about The Carmichael Family who buy The Sheffield House of 12 Rooms where in one of the Rooms, there was a special link and inside was a Box, they manage to open it and see Henny`s Diary. I remember when it was released in 1987 and I found out the `truth` I almost screamed.
The Carmichael Family doesn't exist. I made it up.
Is this real? When??
Que subtitulen el tráiler 😬🙏
OOOO IM EXCITED
Incest is the word of the day to describe this film, it's clear she married a man who's making out with his sister.
Have you never heard of this franchise? It's all incest. Lo
It's not his sister though. He's attracted to his dad's wife and then he gets weirdly obsessed with his own daughter
@@tildaedits6643 WOW, so they keeping it in the family. They pushing the incest on us so I think I'll give this a miss, I remember the older version which I saw years ago. It wasn't a great film to be honest.
@@contesketchup2981 have u ever read the novels
@@Reneebenson Nope.
I have watched the first three and will be watching the 4th origin sat
Did Malcoms mom moleste him? Is that what they want us fo conclude? Is this why hes evil
She abandoned him and it traumatized him. His Mother Corrine went through her own pain as well
I thought the same thing
Im watching this coz of red🤣
Garden of shadows !!!
This is getting worse and worse. I have never watched a Lifetime show but loved this theme. I think there must have been a lot of money spent to make this but OMG it is awful!!! Just watched the first dance at the debut.....seriously? A 6 year old with a phone could do better!
YAYAYAY
Bad casting..bad acting...really bad acting & bad casting...what a waste...
You obviously didn't watch it
@@gregXxo Oh yes I did which is why I had to say what I did. Total waste of time unless you know someone in the cast or crew....nope....still lousy.
@@tonihulick1886 I enjoyed it, for a Lifetime movie I thought but was very well done
