When I was a kid I thought this song was from the perspective of a talking black horse who hated a cherry tree
😂
It's a classic now.
Her voice is so powerful. Murderously Underrated.
Still a Scottish goddess
yea, love the song, had NO idea she is this smoking hot
The way this song was in my head yesterday… I went crazy for a couple of hours looking for it and decided to search up woo hoo country song and found it instantly.. anyways who’s here in 2025
one of the greatest female vocalists of all time!!
the amount of years i wasted searching "song that goes woo hoo woo hoo" has finally paid off
Lol I feel lucky then, because I wanted to find this song yesterday and I typed "whohoo song" and it was there.
Or maybe I must thank you and people who paved the way for people who look for this song but only know there is "whohoo".
woo hoo!
I'm trying to remember the song that goes uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh... Hard to do when you don't remember any of the words.
great song, fantastic voice.
You could have just searched for "cherry tree"
I never gave this song enough credit when it came out. It was played so much I was sick of it before I realized how good it was.
I felt the same way!
Same here! I didn’t like it back then but now that’s it’s been years since I’ve heard it, it’s so refreshing and so damn good!!!
My grandmother loves this song rhythm
This song was a HIT in Mexico, by 2005... it rated the ALTERNATIVE top tens by several weeks. She's still remembered in here... in time to time, this song is played on.
She's CRIMINALLY underrated
Incredible lyrics, amazing voice and energy, insanely talented
I was looking for this song tryna single it🤣🤣🤣
Check into her Live @ Darryls or w/e it's called.
Yeah, she is underrated; one time when I was playing a name that tune Jeopardy game, I might have been the only person in the auditorium, besides possibly at least one of the hostesses, to know the name of that song.
Soulfully agreed.
That old Bo Diddley beat will never die. Viva la rock n' roll!
she's just so iconic like HOW
This song makes me crazy. Many years without knowing who was singing, neither the title. I finally found it and I can't get enough of it over and over again.
Same here!!!
Yea she picked a Tittle that made it hard to find,,,,, Something simple like Your not the one would have increased her views
@@stevew6910 I recommend you 'Blue Suede Shoes', by Elvis Presley, Alternate Take, from '68 Comeback Special, 1:44 minute version (not another version) It is the twin of this song by KT Tunstall. ua-cam.com/video/dEzbik9BciI/v-deo.html
@@stevew6910 This version of Elvis is the only one I like of 'Blue Suede Shoes'. Half of his charm is provided by Elvis, the other half is provided by the screams of the girls. It always seemed to me that KT Tunstall's song has the same level of emotion. ua-cam.com/video/dEzbik9BciI/v-deo.html
omg same!!!!
appreciation for the the owl backup singer
I am a 67 yr old woman and have loved this forever, TY, freaking amazing!!! ❤🎉❤🎉❤🎉
"Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" is inspired by old blues, Nashville psycho hillbillies & hazy memories. It tells the story of finding yourself lost on your path, and a choice has to be made. It's about gambling, fate, listening to your heart, and having the strength to fight the darkness that's always willing to carry you off.
- Tunstall
Unfortunately, there is no Cherry Tree.
Ultimate Powa I agree
I think the cherry tree is what you love so much that has you tied to the world. Like when she saw the horse go crazy at the olive tree that reminded her of the cherry tree saying.
Also I think it was originally from Scottish folk lore long before Scottish folk.
I demand a cherry tree. And maybe a black horse too.
This has been ma favourite song from a was a young girl x
and the big black horse?????? tell me there's a big black horse!!!!!
Love that this song just randomly popped in my head. Such a vibe
Same, I always thought she was American with that sort of country rock/pop type sound and and lyrical style but she's Scottish
Yes
BIG BLACK 🐴 AND A CHERRY 🌳 🎵
Same! Woke up in the morning with it playing...
this and suddenly i see was a crazy run
81 year old male - loved this song for years - KT for longer than that...
❤
I actually searched on how to grow a cherry tree and saw this. Not disappointed.
🤣 and wit all the instructions taken from this song now the only thing you need is a big black horse ..LOL
Honestly this is the ✨best way to learn how✨ 😂
On. R & R. RYAN. DAD
I love this song❤❤❤
🌺🎶🎶🧜♀️🌺 How cute🌺🧜♀️🎶🎶🤣
I loved this song back then but Long Lost Family brought me here. ❤
Same here 😊
Great song. Great singer. Her last minute stand in performance of this on Jools Holland was sublime.
Professor of Rock brought me here. Glad he did!
Me too. I never knew the name of this song.
Me 2
These words are HEART FELT!!!
The whoohoo’s in the song are so incredibly melodic, it just hugs you. ❤
Just saw her perform last night in Grand Rapids, MI, and she's still got it. High energy and fantastic musician! I would definitely go see her again.
❤
Me too
KT Tunstall is legend when it comes 2000s Folky Pop Rock stuff, absolutely love her stuff, such an inspiration on my songwriting and production choices when creating more acoustic based music.
My host mum in Ireland used to play this song so much it just got stuck in my mind, so happy to know this song now, it has so many memories
Never heard of a host mom. What's that mean?
@@kyrauniversal just as an example, imagine you go to another country abroad to live with another family that's not yours, like their host. you would be the host child(idk your age) of that family and they would we your host parents. I hope this helps🤍
So after all these years, I just now learned KT is Scottish.
WOOHOO
Woohoo
I'm a 70 year old man this song will last forever for ever
❤💯
I love KT Tunstall's voice so much.
But she got one thing wrong... She IS the one for me!!!
@@mylesmarkson1686 why😂😂😂
is it weird for a 14 year old to know and love this song? I just remember hearing it on the radio, and now I don't hear it anymore.
Sing it girl!
As a kid i danced to this song happily. As an adult i tear up to the words.
I always remember this song because my brother always had a major crush on the vocalist and would say happily “I like her and her voice”
The most beautiful tune about rejecting Heroin I have ever heard.
Thanks KT, love your music.
I delivered rentals cars back in 2005 in Oxfordshire. And when KT’s tune came on the radio. The squirrels, foxes, pheasant on the Bicester Oxford back road. Had ample time to get out of the road. As her music was blasting there the stereo system!
Ive been looking for this song for 5 yrs since I saw her (think it was her) on Darryls House. THe GREAT show Darryl Hall created at his recording studio in his farm house, and they all cook a meal during their stay. SO happy to find this song. Now, I gotta find the show. If anyone knows where it is, PLEASE write in here. THANK YOU FOR THIS POST!
You probably found it by now, but just search Daryl's house KT Tunstall and the show will come up in full, and with separate clips of them performing songs
Probably one of the last Top 40 songs of this century that is actually good.
This is my favorite song come on kt your the best.
She's authentic the rare thing of pop musicians.
The queen of rhythm.
This on the radio, before he cheats, Christina Aguilera
Love that late 90s early 2000s female vocal delivery they all had.
Don't you just love pure talent on the loose?
KT is one of the best singers that I have heard in a very long time. She should be known as a great singer and have a very successful career.
Guys I'm crying because I was searching this song for 10 years and I don't know, yesterday I listened at Walmart and I used Shazam, thanks tech.
I love how she plays all the instruments in this video!
Who's listening in 2025?!!
I just heard it playing from a motorcycle in the Middle East.
@@darleneschmidt5932- that's kind of crazy.
First time I heart from KT was when I saw a series of a lawyer who is blind (Die Heiland- tödliche Tropfen) and immediatly I stopped to listen to the hole song. Great, grea , grea ! I love it and, btw., I love the presentation, too!
This song from KT Tunstall has been added to a playlist that I made on Spotify which happens to be called, "Energetic songs from the past." 👏🏼👏🏼
I literally searched "and I say no no" to find this song. The internet is amazing xD
Google knows everything :) If Google doesnt know something it doesnt exist. Means if Google does not know you, you dont exist in this world :)
HEY I DID TOO LOL 😍
Cool
@Dustin Vapes i searched "duh song" and then i found im a bad guy
I had to search up “wooho and I said no no no”😂😂😂
"Black Horse and The Cherry Tree" by KT Tunstall takes this song back to my middle school memories when I was a 15 year old kid!😀👋🏾🙏🏾💕🤩😍
Except you're into big black kok
2020! "And I said no, no, no, no, no, no you're not the one for me." Love KT!
same!!
@@brimroses Two Thumbs! Best Artist even in 2020!
This is The best 2005 song ever!!!!😄😄😄
Manda was smart
When she says whoo hoo, whoo hoo. That's my favorite part
I had the joy of seeing her play live once. She's phenomenal. Highly recommend going if you have the opportunity.
show of hands, how many of us are here after watchin the professor of rocks interview? super nice lady & super addictive song ...thank u ms tunstall!
When I was little I loved this song. I loved chanting the “woo hoo” parts in the car with my mom.
Same but with my dad
Awesome you were raised with this!
This was on the radio all the time when I was little. Loved when it came on and my mom would turn it up for me.
When I was about 8, My ma used to have the music channels on the TV and the music video for this song came on. It was just that one day and I fell in love with this song. That was in 2004, after that for 17 years I completely forgot about the song up until one morning Other Side Of The World (another song by KT) randomly came into my head out of the blue and I searched for it and instantly remembered it, then I seen the thumbnail for this song/video and I thought she looks familiar, as soon as the woohoos started it all came flooding back and the same with suddenly I see aswell from 2005
My son did the same when he was little 🙂 listening to this song gives me such nostalgia
Good song❤❤❤❤❤❤
Gloria to Allāh.
Thank you KT.
Ohhh sister.
This came on the speakers while I was in prison.
I absolutely love this song! Thank you!
Glory to Allāh!
It brought me much solace. Kisses sweetheart sweet.
I am not a Black Horse, but I am a Blue Pony ❤️🔥
God bless you Sister!
Omg I can’t believe it, I finally found this song after almost 20 years!!!
Woo hoo, woo hoo 🦉
Keep in walking.
I love how she didn't say "no you're a horse" she said the horse wasn't the one for her
Lol
The plot of the critically acclaimed visual romance novel, My Horse Prince
She is talented.
This KT at her best, her career peaked after this, wonder why she didn't do more songs like this, this was her genre man.
this isn't even a genre of music that I like. but there's something super catchy about this song!
same
But I said NO!
But you won't forgive me
xxxAnaconda69 do you like blues? this is similiar to that
I agree... my parents wanted me to cover it on my music channel and so I finally did.. was fun!
Saw her live today- she sings beautifully and plays the guitar amazingly. She rocked out this song! Definitely my favorite song by her 😍🔥!
My fav song too.
Much respect to her, she started from the bottom up and earning that spot where she is at and is headed, is much more valuable than someone who 'bought' that position.
I still have the biggest crush on KT, from the moment I saw this video as a teen. I remember thinking of how unique her voice is, and all the instuments she plays, she is so badass and gorgeous
Love this song, proving that Scotland can produce great artists!!
Buying CDs online via Facebook Marketplace got me here! This is my first time I've heard of KT Tunstall and I instantly love her music!
BRITNEY’S ONE STEP CLOSER TO BEING FREE AND SHE COULDN’T HAVE USED A BETTER SONG TO EXCLAIM HER HAPPINESS 🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉
#FreeBritney
And she is free now 😊
Sooo happy about that... you're a warrior Britney
i wish she would sing more songs like this. especially with a blues touch to it
KT TUNSTALL - Black Horse And The Cherry Tree it's real gritty and it makes you want to do the Texas two-step"
WooHoo!! WooHoo!!
She needed more support! She is so talented!
Check out Daryl's house with K.T.
i started my first band in 1976 age12 with hands that didant even open,,so i know that shes average,,,music totally easy,,singing compressed too much so when she goes for it, shes not even louder than her lower singing when it comes in fully
@@minstrelofMir She is way above average singer, she a a totally awesome great singer, and should be getting a lot of support for her amazing talent. I can't see how you think she is average, you need to go back and learn what that truly means.
@@tambrelipps8847 yeah I love those clips, of this song, Hall & Oates out of touch, if only, and bonnie rait's something to talk about
My Downs Syndrome stepdaughter asks for this song every time I get on UA-cam.
Please come to Detroit on tour so I can bring her to see you live.
So cute xx :)
💖😁
Unfortunately she lives in Scotland and doesn't do world tours
Cryptiic in that case, there should a go fund me started so that they can travel to Scotland and go see her live
Well actually she is going to be in Kansas City in June
I wish K.T. Would make songs like this, vibe, tune, beat and rhythm be purrfect!
As soon as she starts with the 'two, three, four..' my adrenaline skyrockets!
Came here from signal tweet, but literally liked this song very much.❤️
Same here bro
just keep on walkin. aye
Brilliant start to the new year ,,,, 2023 👌
i thank my lady manager for this song at work. she liked to play high energy music.
💯👍
This song and artist came out of nowhere and took over the radio for a good while. Rightfully so, everything about this song is awesome!
Bought this on CD, just for this song, a great tune
Such a unique tune and holds a special place as it's one of my mam's favourites - always get that nostalgia when i hear it
Thank you for writing this song.
I hope your birth dad heard you when he was alive and thought you looked familiar and was proud of you! Love your voice!
I loved this song when Kat McPhee performed it on American Idol. It was definitely one of my favorite moments on that show. The original performance here is great too.
As you endure this divine discipline, remember that GO TIME ...
Finally googled (& after frustrating search) finally found it at 3:30 A.M. this New Years 2022...used to love to dance to it... been playing it over & over again dancing to it like I did about 20 years ago when I was a young 52😂! Thanks for making me feel young again💖
P.S. Heard it earlier on CNN's New Years Eve ball drop👍💖
The rest of this album is absolutely amazing. Would recommend listening to it if you have extra time :)
Been searching for this for yeaaarss!!!
She’s just so cool who else could pull this off? Amazing talented lady 👌
I first heard this song on American Idol .. Kathrine Mcfee played this song on the floor, I believe acapela, in front of the judges .. with pencils and a pencil holder . She turned it upside down and this was her instrument.. and she killed it! She has a beautiful voice.. don't remember what season .. look it up on UA-cam.
Same here.
Go through those adversities, head up, chest up. You are only going through trials in order to tribunate the message to yourself that you are on the right path. Keep going. Keep working. Keep feeling. Keep expressing. Have a blessed day
This girl is a true talent. Very good song writer and performer.
This song and Suddenly I See from her first album made her an international star. She did covers that were the best version you ever heard and she had that looper device that made her sound like a band while playing solo. I remember when she burst on the scene and how talented she was. But all these years later she hasn’t had more hits. One wonders why?
I saw her live a number of years ago at the Star Theater in Portland, Oregon and I was blown away. I loved her album Eye to the Telescope and was curious when I saw tickets were on sale for the place down the street and I had to check it out. She's an amazing performer live. There are a lot of people that are disappointing to see live, but she was phenomenal. Good merch too! I love an artist with good merch! I would jump at a chance to see her play again next time she comes through town!!
Simply AMAZING, and she's as beautiful as she is talented!
The first time I’d ever heard this I was playing guitar hero with my cousins and they gave me a mic, It hit my brain like muscle memory to sing the lyrics and I can’t believe I remembered them all.
What, was this on Guitar Hero? Which one? I've played them all and I don't recall this song being featured. It's not the kind of song that fits that game... way too pop and no guitar (except the repetitive acoustic part) and no bass.
