StarCraft Remastered is the original StarCraft: Brood War released in 2017 with many visual updates and no gameplay changes.
1:28 even today i still wonder why Kerrigan never question about Duran's knowledge about the Protoss Pylon tech, where did he learn from and how to set it to overload?
To slay the beast will be the ultimate Christmas gift :D
loved to use queens in this mission, put parasites on the flying neutral critters to uncover map and then put parasites on overlords and flying a couple of them in before an attack so that they would mind-control them and drag them in their base to give me more vision :)
Hey Jay, maybe check out this condition if your allergy test in not revealing: Hereditary Angioedema is a genetic condition that can cause swelling of the face. The events are usually precipitated by stress and they absolutely do not respond to antihistamines or steroids because they are unrelated to allergies or inflammation. The condition is due to a genetic lack of C1 deactivation protein in your blood.

I always wonder how Overlords, literal air-support units, could scornfully mock the Dark Templars' electromagnetic field 😜 while hovering around.

Probably because "Dev 1: Add an arbitrary handicap of the player being unable to use flying units and say it's a magnetic field or something. Dev 2: But the player is Zerg, Overlords, their supply, are flying units. Dev 1: idk fam just do it or ill fire u k?"
The idea doesn't make sense within our own fiction. IDK? Do it anyways?
On both Omega and to slay the beast, having two control groups of devourers can either focus down individual battlecruisers or take turns picking off Valkyries. The point being instead of supporting hydras or mutalisks with acid spores, the devourers can snipe units before they do too much damage(They're actually quick at picking off science vessels). A good amount would be 20 devourers after saturating 3 bases. With AA taken care of, the rest of your economy can go into a lurker and defiler army.
dude beat it in minutes, i spent at least 4 hours on this level already and still dying
Not sure if they've patched the game further since you last played, but this scenario is practically unbeatable now. I beat it many times back in the day, but they've tweaked it such that the rush attacks come more frequent and the AI is a touch smarter in it's early usage of Dark Archons, Protoss Motherships and Reavers. I do everything you do in your setup. I actually had at one point 24 dark templar rush me on one side of the base while I was getting hit with reavers and motherships and templar on the other side. Of course, rushing an overlord over to see what is destroying my units meant that the dark archon (who was lurking just out of view) took it over. It's gotten to the point where the scenario is more frustrating than fun.
It's all fun and games till Protoss start to throw at you reavers and huge assault teams.
I was really mad when Duran got hit back then. Took me sometime to realize that he can actually regenerate like all zerg units do.
Infested Duran is a rather weird unit. Either Blizzard got lazy or just did not bothered much, i wish though they made him a bit more interesting like Infested Kerrigan but 20% less modified. Say infestec C-10 canister rifle, few tentcales may be on his sprite model and a set of glowing amber eyes or something.
Granted, players can control him for litterally 1 mission, but still, considering the attention for details Blizzard had back then it was a minior let-down.
There was also Stukov, but he appears only once and as an NPC unit. It's just a ghost with replaced portrait and boosted stats.
It's actually genius that Duran looks like a normal ghost, and let me explain. Duran had to let Kerrigan believe that she had infested him while simultaneously looking human enough to fool Dugalle and Stukov. It's sort of the best of both worlds. He had to deceive Kerrigan that she was making him deceive the UED, when really that was all part of Duran's plan.
Lucky me that I'm only allergic to dust, so only need to have all my stuff clean.
Did Duran Get infested by Kerrigan in brood war somewhere in Zerg episode? I can’t remember what happened when I did brood war
During the secret mission of this campaign Duran hints that he is something else entirely. He played everyone from the start. Hes actually a member of the xel'naga race and can shape shift.

Hah, I beat this map without ever knowing there was that mineral base right above your starting position.
Dude on the allergies, it's probably a preservative. I have the same thing happen when I eat certain processed things.
Based on what you're describing, it definitely sounds like a food allergy. Hope you figure it out.

Tbqh the only reason people could ever find the original Slay hard without them being laughably bad is that they never bother taking the mineral only expo in the bottom middle
Not really, even without that, there's quite a lot of minerals in enemy bases. Gas (and maybe supply) have usually been bigger constraints for me. The computer's attack locations tend to be quite random all around because of airdrops, and sometimes you're unlucky enough for them to hit your Protoss structures almost directly at the most inopportune time.
It is by no means over the top in terms of difficulty, but it is without a doubt the hardest Brood War campaign level (unless you decide to fight out all the Zerg in Countdown instead of just defending the Xel'Naga Temple).
reavers: a pain in the ass when you use them, a double pain in the ass when the enemy uses them
