My Misses loves motogp. It's like skydiving on the ground. The suzuki and Yamaha are inline 4 engines.. Ducati are V4,s. Yamaha and Suzuki have a wider engine.. more stable, less torque. V4s more unstable but much sharper..
In Motogp, teams are not allowed to develop their engines during the Season, and teams are allowed 7 engines per season. The Motorcycles hit 220 mph on the straights of some circuits while inches apart.
So he is right in the fact that teams only use 1 motor spec per year. They cant develop them fast because as you develop the motor you HAVE to do development on the chassis, swingarm and electronics. There isn't enough time to test and develop a massive jump in horsepower and be able to get the right chassis along with it in one year. You have to do small horsepower jumps in order to keep the core of your design in line. Specifically it is really hard to tune the horsepower to flywheel weight relationship ship. Too heavy and you do not get good drive, too light and the motor spins up too fast spinning the rear wheel and causing you to lose drive. Small increment changes through out decades of development have got the bikes here.

"We're trying to understand the settings" "We need more power" "We have to evaluate to understand why we're lacking" bla bla bla It's like, really?, after all these years of testing and preseasons and stuff and you still have the same problem?
@@jockejocke1 I'm a bit late with this response. But you have to keep in mind that whenever Yamaha finds some power, Ducati and Honda usually find something as well. They're constantly chasing a moving target. Honda and Ducati have traditionally always had more powerful engines, whereas Yamaha has always been great in the corners. With a few exceptions It's been like that since..forever. Like, I'm talking decades.
@@silversky5554 Their power output still sucks. They've been the least powerful bike for a while now. The fact he's leading the championship says a lot about him as a rider. With Marquez being injured all the time, he's definitely top dog atm.

MotoGP is cool, but i love stock car racing. something about racing a brick with ~700hp and like 40 cars on the track at once is just appealing to me.
