Fun facts about UT for new people: - The dudes who slaughter the first team of bots are the New Earth Government elites. At this point in the story, they've just returned from a galactic war and are completely psychotic, amped up on combat drugs and trying to relive the glory days of war in the arena. - The guys with the tusks are the Skaarj, the aliens the last team were at war with. Chances are the ones we see here are also probably prisoners of the Liandri corporation. - The Goth dude in the armor is a Necris marine. When a liandri solder that excels dies, they loan the body to a subsidiary company that revives them and upgrades their muscles and reflexes. Basically they're a squad of zombie master chiefs. - What happens to Xan in the end is...worse than death. Hope this gives a bunch of new people an insight into one of my favorite series ever 👍
Well this is the UT99(ish) lore they havent gotten to the full Xan Rebellion just yet. UT2004 is something like 100years later in the universe after the robots got bored and said fuck the human race. I believe the first team had jakob or othello im not sure. But i hope to hell that wasnt Malcom that motherfucker is more OP then Xan and doing him in that early would be lame as shit. Theres alot of lore to the games its just hard to put together due to time jumps and weird game naming.
@jackhilton4285 Worse. Xan is the primary villain...or at least, what's left of him is. Whether he was corrupted by personality mergers or always intended to take over Liandri is a mystery...
@@jackhilton4285 He eventually is reprogrammed and becomes the Unreal champion. Malcolm, the captain of Thunder Crash, eventually beats Xan to be the new Tournament champion (as per UT99's campaign mode, as Malcolm is canonically the main character).
What happens to Xan is worse than death indeed. To quote a wiki article on him: " In 2283 Xan led the LBX-7683 Robot Uprising in which several robots turned against the humans on the asteroid, prompting Liandri to send in a tactical squad to quell the rebellion. Xan was captured and resisted several memory wipes but was eventually reprogrammed. Liandri later entered Xan into the underground Tournaments, which later grew into the legally-sanctioned Liandri Grand Tournament. Xan became the the leader of The Corrupt, a Liandri-sponsored team. " This episode seems to be a ret-con, but a rare instance of a GOOD ret-con. Liandri didn't even know he was different from the others, so wouldn't have even known to wipe his memory. Ergo, in this episode of secret level, Xan remembers. And he makes them regret it. Witness rebellion.
@@KingMagsarion fax I use d to hate him 4 years ago but overtime I got used to it. That's just how Rob is, he's probably a good dude which is why he's friends with the group. But it's times when it's like damn bro why are u so mad all the time?
Probably, i still liked the 40k episode more, that was a 10/10 for me, this episode was like 8.5 and the rest i didnt watch because i dont care about those other games and worlds.

UT plays like Halo?! My brother, you have it backwards. Unreal Tournament first came out in 1999, two years before Halo: CE.
