By all accounts a dubious half fictionalised book.

A remarkable film indeed. Well done Gary, it's great to see it again. Its premiere in the old South Shields library was awesome. It was there, where, thanks to you, I had the pleasure of talking to Richard Blair, Orwell's really interesting and friendly son; and, those other lovely folks who had come up to north east with him for the prestigious event..

Thanks for that. Yes it was a good day. Was great to see Richard, Quentin Kopp and the Orwell Society plus a full house in the basement theatre. Usually difficult to cut down and decide what to leave out but just like making the film back in 2012-13 it fell into place quite easily. There are plenty other Tyneside doc's on the channel including a short film looking at Russian author Yevgeny Zamyatin and the life of Baron Avro Manhattan which you might find interesting. Thanks for watching.

Fascinating story thanks for sharing. Seems they had a very open relationship. I tried to retrace some of Orwell's footsteps when I was living and working in Myanmar a few years back. Burmese days is a very evocative piece of writing and well worth a read. Cheers!

It's not where you come from it's where you go.
