This was fantastic. We need to see more black Catholic speakers. I look forward to seeing a black Catholic woman on stage at a SEEK event. We are out here! And we feel left out in the church we don't see ourselves represented at Catholic events.
dandandannie I definitely agree! The change begins with us I suppose.. so let’s get on that stage and set the world on fire!
Yes, I definitely agree with you! I too would love to see my brothers and sisters of color represented in the church because you are also members of the body of Christ Our Lord, and I know God has given you gifts to share with everyone.
Your Baptism story made me cry! The Holy Spirit is working in you! God bless you and your ministry. Thank you, the Catholic Church needs you!
I definitely wondered why we never see people of colour at seek conferences! I definitely can’t wait to give my first speech😁💃🏾 go deacon!

Well said! I’m publishing a weekly UA-cam video on episodes from the life of Don Bosco, entitled ST JOHN BOSCO by JOE ZAMMIT. In this series I’m narrating events and miracles from the splendid life of Don Bosco. St John Bosco used to perform a miracle almost every day, through the intercession of Mary Help of Christians. From the lives of saints we can learn how to love God more and draw closer to him. Thank you..
Thank you Deacon Larry! Amén🙏🏻
I love your spirit cause it is from the Holy Spirit! Wonderful wisdom and advice that can be applied to the Catholic journey. Praise be to God that so many others that get the privilege to listen to you throughout your life! My past does not determine my destiny! Glory to God that you have been chosen. May God have you be pure in heart, clear in mind, and full of love. God Bless! ❤️
Amazing!!!
Loved him
AMEN ! God bless.
God Bless us,.
Amen.
Wow!!!!
Needed this, thank you!
Deacon Larry so if we are not lively that means the holy spirit is not in us? Thank you. God bless all.
I picked up on this also. Something that has been eating at me this past year since depression hit me; I have observed and experienced an attitude in my parish, "you are suffering, I'll talk to you when you're better". Basically I feel like it's become, like going to a doctors office when you're sick, and they tell you to come back when you are better. There were many Saints who struggled with depression and anxieties and that gives me hope.
Furthermore, the wording used can easily be interpreted, those depressed people over there.. don't waist your time with them. You depressed folks, stay away, you aren't welcomed.
A lot of great things spoken, but this part... I think is only helping spread a cancer of apathy by attempting to block out a cancer who are the afflicted.
@@AbearDesign I'M SORRY YOU HAVEN'T FOUND THE RIGHT PERSON THAT CAN LISTEN. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP. HAVE YOU MADE AN APPT TO SPEAK TO YOUR PRIEST FOR SOME SPIRITUAL DIRECTION? GOD BLESS YOU. GOD BLESS ALL.
@@AbearDesign Agreed. I think sometimes people who are natural extroverts and simultaneously have no experience of depression or quiet suffering, seem to say ignorant things that conflate their particular style of extroverted 'liveliness' with the life of the Spirit resting within us. They seem to think that reserved temperaments, or those who for whatever reason aren't swept along by their peppiness, are less full of the Spirit. PS, I'm sorry to hear about your depression. I'm glad to hear that God gives you hope through remembrance of saints who struggled with depression and anxieties. I agree with 'mar gz' that it might be a good idea to approach your prisst for spiritual direction, if you haven't already.
God calls everyone. That is why we were created. However, not everyone answers.
Deacon...Mary was not pregnant without a husband. The gospel says she was “betrothed to Joseph” and was found with child “ before they came together.” The very next verse describes Joseph as her “husband.” This is a very common misreading of scripture because people do not understand Jewish marriage custom and have not referenced the original Greek gospels and rely solely on poor English translations. Jewish marriage was a two step process. The ceremony presided over by a rabbi and witnessed by two people whereby the covenantal bond was established as vows exchanged and the marriage blessed was called the kiddushin. After the two were married, the husband would generally take six months to one year to build an addition in his fathers home where he and his wife would live. Once the home was prepared, he would escort his wife from her fathers home to their new home. This was called the nissuin. So, after the kiddushin, but before the nissuin, is when Gabriel appeared to Mary and Our Lord was Incarnate. She and Joseph were married. It’s plain as day in the Greek, and plain as day in the English. In fact, it calls Joseph her husband in the same section of the gospel. God didn’t establish covenantal marriage from Adam and Eve through Moses’ law and all the prophets only to disregard marriage during the Incarnation. That is a ridiculous notion.
Im sure he knows that he is on stage and has alot to say. As a catholic i know what he meant. 💝
