IN THIS VIDEO: Hello everyone! Welcome to Airshow London 2018 and the Friday Hour of Power!
Here is the USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team ripping it up at this years Hour of Power. The Demo Pilot for this year is Capt. John "RAIN" Waters and he was an exceptional pilot. I had heard a lot of things about him how he loves to push the F-16 and it was not wrong.
And we've got GoPro Footage as well with it! My friend Shane walked up to RAIN ans asked if he could take his GoPro up during his Hour of Power Demo and he agreed. Unfortunately, since I was busy filming most of the other acts, I didn't get a chance to talk to him afterwards but big thanks to him for allowing me to use the footage along with Threshold Images since the footage of the Demo during the Hour of Power was incredible.
I haven't seen the USAF F-16 Viper Demo Team since the Canadian International Air Show of 2015 but it was well missed. And an amazing demo to add to that, never seen the F-16 pushed to the limit till now. Well worth it for everyone who was able to see it in London on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And tons of burner too ;)

Phenomenal footage! I could watch all day long. Love the Heritage flight, especially at around the 15:45 mark where you can see and hear RAIN feathering the throttle with the reflection of the P-51 in his visor, and he never took his eyes off him. This, as well as the minor conversations we've had over the past week or so is enough for me to subscribe!! Thanks again for the uploads!!

I could only imagine how nervous those pilots must get doing an air show demonstration. Their heart must be racing knowing that anything can happen, and they're performing in front of thousands of people.
That is very true. But in the end they are all prepared for it. They go through countless months of training and it usually assists them very well for the show season ahead.

What did you do ask him to put the go pro in the cockpit for you ? What a great guy if he was nice enough to do that for you !
EddieG I think the Viper Demo team just does videos from the cockpit. Getting the video directly from them was the feat - but then again maybe the demo team is this generous. Their goal is to promote the USAF so I don't see why they would give problems.
Some friends of ours called him over and my buddy had a Go-Pro on him so he spoke with RAIN to see if he would take it up in the cockpit during the Hour of Power Demo and he agreed. Very nice guy and big thanks to him for allowing this to happen.
Ernest brother you have to get this years team to take your go pro up with them if possible. That 50th anniversary livery is the tits and that would look super awesome!

how fast top speed km/h
At airshow pilots are restricted from doing the full top speed of the aircraft. The demo teams keep it about 0.97 Mach just under the speed of sound. about 635 Knots across the ground. The top speed of the F-16 is Mach 2 plus or well over 1500 MPH.
Yes, they had RAIN on the speaker to call out the speeds when he came by and did one of the high speeds from pulling down from a half cuban eight and he went to 0.96 Mach in about ten-fifteen seconds. Just unreal!

@@ErnestGutschikAviation I hear the Thunderbirds are coming next year! Hopefully we get the F22 demo aswell. This year was a bit "quiet" in terms of afterburners. Hope to see more next year.
