    3:30 I agree. I've found that having too much time for a project really messes with my productivity, as that extra work time doesn't register as work time, so a 3-week project ends up a 3-day project. I do this every week with my videos (I have all week, and make the video in 2-3 days 😑)

Obrigado pela qualidade de conteúdo e me perdoem por não comentar em inglês, não conseguiria ser tão claro e sincero senão em um comentário da minha língua nativa.

    Great video! Gotta get me a planner now.
    I love what you had to say about staying positive. There's a lot of grumbling and fear-mongering going on at school right now cause we're starting to get into the challenging classes in the major. Is that attitude something that tends to go away in the last years of undergrad?

    A couple of tips: A) Do research on your instructor. How does she grade, can he explain things well, reasonable office hours etc.
    II) Try not to take a class from a graduate teaching assistant. Unless things have changed from when I was in school, a TA training is 100% on the job. The amount of supervision they have is minimal. It sometimes takes teaching a few classes to gain perspective and that not everyone loves the subject as much as they do.
    One thing to note is that these two tips are not cut in stone, but more like written on sticky-notes.

    • @Socratica
      @Socratica  6 років тому

      We definitely remember this being the case when we were in grad school. Some of us took our teaching duties much more seriously than others. :D

    • @terryendicott2939
      @terryendicott2939 6 років тому +1

      It isn’t just the seriousness, which I agree is an issue, but also what I call perspective. When I was a freshman our calc class covered Taylor polynomials at the end of the semester. The presentation was rushed and I did not appreciate their importance until subsequent courses. The first semester I taught a calc course when we came to Taylor polynomials I spent a lot of time (several days) working on a smooth presentation. It was so smooth that it went over everyone’s head. I had inadvertently designed a lecture that would be more appropriate for a senior level advanced calculus or real analysis course. Another TA I knew “got carried away” (to quote him) whilst giving an introductory lecture on continuous functions. His class looked like a heard of deer caught in headlights.
      So the incoming freshmen not only have to look out for the TA who is just phoning it in, but the ones who have yet to learn how to teach and what to teach. As a graduate chairman once said of the training of graduate teaching assistants, “We just throw them into a classroom. If they survive they get to keep the job.”

    Don't do the most difficult first, do the most important. If you have the opportunity to do whatever you want, it depends of the type of "focus". Some people stay more focus in the first minutes of the study sesion , so they have to do what this video recommend, but others have to start with the easy courses
