Valiant really has some of best continuity control, I love how they plan everything out in advance across multiple titles-instead of rebooting the multiverse every other year
Michael Leroi. The video game just brought this atmosphere of dread. One of the scariest games i'd ever played on n64, ps1 AND pc. The comics are also on a whole other level.
And now the remastered version is on consoles Glad when they made the game of Shadowman that it was a voodoo warrior instead [Looks cooler if you ask me]
- History of Robocop - History of Judge Dredd - History of The Mask - History of Namor The Submariner - History of League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen - History of Ultraman - History of Kamen Rider - History of Black Mask - History of The Phantom - History of The Rocketter - History of The Shadow
What comic is The mask under is it dark horse plus is it darker than the movie with Jim Carrey? Im honestly curious I want to read on how accurate the movie one was to the comic version
@@ricardoleon458 yeah, and there's actually a specific run that's the N46 game is based on that Arin didn't mention. Missed opportunity to mention that Shadowman is getting a remaster.
This is perfect!! Shadowman is my favourite comic book character, in fact Shadowman #0 from the 90s is the comic that got me into comics and necromancy. Thank you for mentioning both the original and rebooted versions, great video!
The Shadowman mantle is like the Crow mantle, it gets passed on. Thank you so much for making the time to make this video, it's so informative & I really enjoyed it from start to finish.
The game based on the Michael Le’Roi incarnation from Aklaim (though completely ignored in this video) is currently being remastered by NightDive studios RN, so it’s another win for Shadowman I say
Bro I didn’t realize how long I’ve been watching you until now because I got a past video in my recommended which I believe was the top 5 superhero cartoons video but either way it said it was from 8 years ago I’ve grown up with your channel thank you for the content😄
it's funny, i remember finding the first ever Shadowman comic at a flea market for like $5 in 2000 and I was only 10 when i read it. I loved it and I wish i still had it. Thank god for digital archives.
Not sure if it’s been down before, but it would be really cool to see an Origins Of/History Of episode, around The Sandman. The recent audible book release boast an amazing cast that is noteworthy for spotlight. Always happy to see these origins vids goin on 7+ years 👍🏽👍🏽
I got given a load of theses as a kid and loved them. Thanks for reminding me. Can you do some Top Cow titles too. I loved the Darkness and may have had a crush on Fathom and Witchblade!
Just an fyi. If it's meant to be the word for "group of witches", then it should be pronounced to rhyme with "of" or "oven" like the thing you cook on/in in your kitchen: K-uh-venn. Great vid, like always. :D
About time a mainstream comic book YT channel (that I know of) puts Shadowman in the spotlight. Thank you for that. Any chance you put the spotlight on Michael LeRoi in a future episode? Because let's be honest, just like me, there's a ton of people who learned and became fans of Shadowman thanks to the late 90s/early 2000s video games. Not to mention Night Dive studios went on record saying that they will make a remaster of the first SM game just like they did with the Turok games.
I was managing a comic book shop back in 1992 when Valiant Comics hit the shelves. I made a large gamble on Valiant Comics lines, and ordered a lot of their comics. When they sold out at other shops, we had managers from Louisville cross the river to buy up our inventory. Let's just say...MARK UP WAS HUGE! lol.
Daniel De Leon I don’t get what that means. Also I’m pretty sure you didn’t spell his last name right. I’m not going to attempt typing it because I know I’ll mess it up too but I’m pretty sure that’s wrong.
Daniel De Leon what are you, high or something ? Your random blabbering seems like a teenager’s tantrums Experiencing a lot of hormonal changes, lately ?
Always cool to get information about Valiant Characters. Shadowman has always seem pretty badass to me. Someone knows if the Peter Milligan's run was worth it?
I’m probably the only one who saw the title and thought of the Apothicon leader and antagonist of Shadows of Evil and Revelations Shadowman. I was momentarily beyond excited
I still love watching Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe. I want to get a DnD group together and do characters like Ninjak, Shadowman, Bloodshot, and X-O Manowar.
Yes! More Valiant characters.
Variant Comics doing A Valiant comics?
Agreed
I completely agree, we need more Valiant content!
Its a good thing the game is coming out next year
Valiant really has some of best continuity control, I love how they plan everything out in advance across multiple titles-instead of rebooting the multiverse every other year
Crazy how much this channel has changed over the years
Calm down this is the only non Marvel or DC video they've doing for now.
@@goofybutserious4807 was saying it as a good thing like the channel has grown alot

@Caleb Mayfield that's a new one
I was surprised by your use of wire.

probably the hardest game you had to figure out by yourself
Great game !

Sighted Gem oh The Mask comic is way darker than the movie.
It’s horrifying.
I'd love to see more Valiant episodes. I want to get more invested into them like I am wit DC and Marvel
Thanks Arris, I’m glad Variant is giving Valiant some love.
Seriously this is underrated and we definitely need a movie on this version
There is a game for the N64 that was very good in my opinion, and a sequel for the playstation that I never played.
@@ricardoleon458 yeah, and there's actually a specific run that's the N46 game is based on that Arin didn't mention. Missed opportunity to mention that Shadowman is getting a remaster.

Can you do History of DC's Shining Knight and Marvel's Black Knight?
This sounds like the Darkness, Jackie Estacado
Hmm I was expecting shadowman start singing and dancing. Lol
But seriously this guy basically sounds like valiant comics’s own version of ghost rider.
The game based on the Michael Le’Roi incarnation from Aklaim (though completely ignored in this video) is currently being remastered by NightDive studios RN, so it’s another win for Shadowman I say
I am so happy to see more of Valiant on this channel.
I loved Shadowman in the 90's. Turok and XO as well. And for some reason, Magnus Robot Fighter was my favorite.
Good lookin out on this showcase. Wasn't aware of Shadowman but after watching this would definitely check out this title. It's something up my alley

lol i went to look for this comment XD
Coven like oven, yessir
I thought it he said Covid at first.
No it’s pronounced co-vi-d
The Ghost Who Walks was the first of such 'mantle heroes', I think, the Phantom. the Man Who Cannot Die.
