I cut the bolts off the front crash bar and slid it out. That way it’s not there people don’t say “why are those bolts there”

For the front crash bars, you are correct. You cannot simply remove them just by taking off the front bumper. The bolt head does have to be cut off and slid out from the bottom. If you only need an extra 1/2" or so of clearance with a much less aggressive offset, and want to retain the crash bars, you can swap the fronts from side to side. Once you cut the factory bolt head off and remove the nut/bolt, you can use any grade 8 nut/bolt and come in from the bottom with the nut on top. The bars have a curved design in them for the fog lights that can be swapped for extra clearance while still being able to remove the fog lights (just a bit of a pain). The crash bars do a lot for safety so I highly recommend doing anything you can to retain them. You can also spread them with a porta power to gain extra clearance. Word of advice though, do not remove the rear crash bar if you intend on putting it back for whatever reason. The only way that I saw to do that is to lift the cab off the frame, otherwise you don't have the clearance to put the crash bar in the sleeve. But the rears are almost never in the way, or can be trimmed/spread so removing is almost never necessary.
Just put a 6 inch RC lift and 20x12 -44 Moto Metal wheels with 35's on my 16 F150.
I personally did the trimming on the truck. I first started by removing the front bumper. I then cut the bolts on the 2 front crash bars and then the 2 bars simply slide out. On the rear crash bars, I also but the bolts, however the bar is too long to remove with the provided space. I ended up cutting the rear crash bar into 2 pieces to full remove.
It is possible but a lot of work.

Those tires have to be more than 12.5 wides or at least some sort of spacer, I have similar set up with 22x12.5 on 35s and they don’t come that far out past the running boards.

I am trying to find how it was trimmed also. I have a plastic molding over my pinch weld so the NorCal mod may not work. I would love to see how custom offsets did theirs. I have a 15 w/ 6” lift on 35s w/ 20x12 -44 wheels. I have trimmed some but still have a little rubbing at inner fenders by the cab

I'm not hating at all, but I've seen A LOT of trucks with 6 inch lifts with 37s and 40s proven facts as well my dually started out with a 5 inch lift on 40s no cutting no rubbing it now has a 9 inch suspension lift with 44s still no cutting or rubbing

A few guys on the F-150 forums have had luck with spreading the craah bars instead of cutting them. I believe one was able to fit 305/55 20x10 -12 on just a 2.5" level with just spreading with no rub at all.
Custom Offsets You take a hydraulic spreader and push the two bars outward. You gotta push them, then leave them in the position for a while to mold I guess. I agree 100%, pretty much no one talks about re-gearing these trucks. Everyone just throws tires on and runs with it. The new F150s do have a really slow 1st gear tho, it's like a 4.17 I think but still most need a new set of gears! O and I love the tires by the way, most slap some "tractor grips" on and throw rocks at everyone. Love this build!

I don't know if it's the different lift kit brands or the way the trucks are built I know older trucks are more wheels and tire roomy these new trucks have a lot wheel well closure

Does it prett effortlessly! Still drives fine, and pulls a trailer fine! computer, you enter in stock size tire, then what you're going up to and it recalibrates
I just traded my dealer lifted truck in because the 35" tires on the stock gearingducked. Dont listen to anybody who says it doesn't. They just dont know. New truck is getting 35" and I'm installing 4.56 gears. The trucks had a 3 second differencein 0-60 times. Dont listen to those who say its fine. Traded mine in 4000 miles. Start over. Dealer would not accept any responsibility .

Some guys push them back, some cut. We typically cut due to the wheel/tire size people are running Sergio!

I know I'm chiming in a little late but I seriously hope this truck DID NOT sale! It's definitely a super sweet ride but $43k is a lot of money for a truck that has NO WARRANTY. That's right... if you cut the "crash bars" you voided the warranty. That's why I don't buy new trucks! It's not worth it if you're gonna be doing extreme mods. You're stuck paying full price for a truck that either (a) you can't do anything to or (b) you loose the factory warranty. Just buy used and you can do whatever you want. You won't have a warranty but you'll save a sh!t ton of money. The truck looks DAMN GOOD though!!!

Chop Suey The only F-150 6in lift that doesn't require cutting the frame would be the 2WD version of the Rough Country 6in lift and the 7in Max Trac 2WD lift. I don't know any 4X4 lift kits that can get away without cutting the frame.
