DDB puppies are the cutest in mine opinion. I like them as adults too but there is something special with the puppies. The kennel that sold me my dog told me that when it comes to personality you have dogs and then you have DDB. After two years with her I agree. You have probably noticed already that you dog is something special too. Calm , friendly and they seem to love everybody. I am also convinced they have some sort of humor because she can make a whole drama when she gets a dryer pigs ear. She throws it up in the air and cases it around the living room before she digest it.
@@runedahl1477 my baby boy his name Is Kal short for kal-el like super man we had a French massive before for 7 years I had him since I was in pre k he lasted a long time until he finally went to heaven he was very serious and protected me like a body guard after he passed we needed another guard dog/ family dog so we searched and found puppy creek I'm so glad we found them he has changed my life✨️
The sad thing about having a French mastiff is their relative short lifespan. Therefore it is important to enjoy the time you have together. Still a few of them have lived to the age of 13 - 14 years. The dog that played Hootch in the movie with Tom Hanks was named Beasley. Contrary to what many people think he was small for a DDB and lived to the age of 13 years. That is very good for a large dog.The stunt double in that movie was named Igor but I don’t know how old he became. There are many good dog breeds out there but for me the French mastiff is number one. It was as if faith wanted us to be together. After I retired I happened to look at the webpages of the Norwegian kennel club and I was looking at puppies. When I came to the French mastiffs there were two litters of puppies for sale. Something told me “why don’t you get a dog.These are perfect”. The first kennel I called had already sold all the puppies. On the second kennel I was told that there was a female for sale and that the original buyers had canceled their purchase just five minutes earlier. I said I’ll take her and two days later my dog Kine came into my life. One can wonder what would have happened had I called the last kennel first. Now I have a dog that is both my pride and my joy. I have less time to other activities but that is alright. Last week we attended two days of dog shows and she was rated “excellent” and best of breed. The last is not as impressive as it may sound because she was the only DDB there. It was more impressive that her mother became Spanish champion on Saturday and number 1. on Sunday at the world dog show in Madrid. I don’t think I will ever go to a big event like that but it is nice to know that Kine have the potential to do well in major competitions if she is anything like her mother.

People collect many things. Some collect art, some stamps and some baseball or football cards. I collect musical instruments, mostly guitars and bases. Right now I have 103 guitars and basses. The three latest I have made myself. Due to the amount I have to spread them all over the house. Sometimes a hobby can get a little bit out of hand but there are stranger things that are being collected. A saw on television a guy that had collected more than 2000 gnomes. He would have them on display during Christmas time and then you could hardly walk inside his house. You had to follow paths between all the gnomes.😁😁😁
I feed her minced meat that is specially made for dogs. It is a Norwegian producer called Vom. I give her 500 grams of that daily. In addition she can have as much of dried pellets as she wants. The pellets are from a Swedish brand called Robur and the flavor of that is salmon. The reason why I use that brand and that flavor is that they have added taurine, something that is great to prevent heart related issues that can occur on large dogs. Since them Dogue de Bordeaux is not food driven like many some other breeds there is always pellets in a bowl. She eat those when she feel for it but sometimes she doesn’t touch that for days.
The parents of Kine was Chief Crispo (Molosse de Antique). Among great grandparents I see Hooch and Mustang Sally (also MdA). Among grandparents are also Bakervill’s Style Funky Boy and Gucci V.D Madroelhove both top DDBs. I have just received a series of books called “The world of Dogues de Bordeaux “. The books are full of pictures and information regarding the breed and gives me the opportunity to see what some of Kine’s ancestors looked like and how they performed in various dog shows.
Kine had also blue eyes when she was a tiny puppy but now her eye color is amber. From what I know this is normal. To light eyes is not perfected according to the breed standard.
We live in northern Norway. Right now my dog have not had any puppies yet. I am considering to have a litter when she is three or four years old. The problem is to find a perfect male in order to have a diversified gene pool. Several of her ancestors are premium dogs and the problem with that is that everybody wants offspring of these champions. As for now I can only recommend to look at the webpages of the Norwegian kennel club (www.nkk.no/bli-hundeeier/aktuelle-valper/) There you will see the list of puppies for sale in Norway at the moment. Unfortunately the text is in Norwegian and it covers all breeds.
