- A couple of years ago, I had a conversation with a friend and he told me that he wasn’t creative.
At the time this sounded like a strange thing to say, but I believed him.
It made sense to me that creativity was something you were born with, some people had it and some people didn’t.
I knew I was creative because I loved to draw
But looking back, I can see I had a limited perspective of what creativity was all about.
I thought creativity was just about enjoying painting or drawing. I was wrong...

I hate it when people assume creativity is art or singing but it's actually thinking outside of the box and being inventive I have this talent but I lack the engineering to make my ideas come to life.
Thank you for sharing this perspective on following God’s will. I’ve been creative my whole life, but struggle to find art communities where God is honored above all. What a blessing to find this video!

Man I can’t tell you how needed this video is..I’m in the process of switching paths as we speak and while is exciting to embrace the creativity that God gave me, it’s terrifying to think about turning from the pursuit of the medical field to embrace the gifts I have. But this is a good reminder/affirmation that there is nothing to fear when you walk in the path he has for you

im not religious whatsoever (ignore my user name lol ) yet many people say that im "the most creative person they know"... so i guess im wondering why i still have my superpowers when they should be taken away.. hmm

Thank you!!! I needed to hear that. I had a husband (who left) be very derisive, condescending and angry that I wanted/needed to be an artist) it didn’t make him enough money. I’ve heard the words ‘get a REAL job’ many times. I am actually a professional artist. Very skilled yet he is the only one in my life I’d hear this from. It becomes the loudest. And with court pending in a week I fear that the judge too will be thinking this because of his words.
In fact I could use prayer from anyone who reads this that day in court Oct. 5. And that my ex himself will come back to his relationship with Christ And become a compassionate man as well. God Bless these videos of yours!!

This is a beautiful perspective of God's calling for us as creatives! As a Christian artist, I often feel that this is definitely God's calling for me and to honor Him through paint and show others the miracles big and small that He performs in each of our lives.
Really appreciate this video, I have been struggling with doing things that aren’t related to God, my mind was telling me “well this isn’t what God wants”. But this video shows me otherwise. Why wouldn't God want to see the Star Wars edit I made? Why would God not love the creatively and the stories I bring. I just made an edit where there is no heroic ending and I know at face value it may seem like it’s dumb and God definitely wouldn't wants to see that, but I made an original story out of a story and there was heart in it and soul into it. Whether creatively sprains from, it was there I can say that for a fact. So whether I make a post appreciating God, or an edit of something I’m passionate about I think God will love and appreciate it just as much. He is my father and my father loves me for who I am and I'm grateful for the creative he has given me ❤️🔥✝️
Artist is a job that serves the society just like any other job, but what matters the most is to ask God how you can glorify Him with your art

I used to draw a lot growing up then mmo's was introduced to me (multi-mass online games) and fell out for like 15 years. When I became a christian 6 years ago I felt the urge to go back, I did things like watercolor and tried to go back to drawling but became discouraged because I had fell out of it so long and lost some skills, but through out these seven years of walking in the wilderness per say the urge seemed there just ignored. Now that I've been taking my walk with christ serious it's like I see artistic things and it comes back to me. Apart of me wants to go back but another part is just like a sigh almost a lazy sigh...dunno if that makes sense, hope it's not confusing lol
I fight the urge to "find my identity" in art when I get too passionate and worry that it can become an idol. Because, before I became a Christian I would put so much of my self-worth into whether people liked my art

Yes my mom told me to stop being a balloon artist and get a job because I needed insurance! I was a balloon artist for 26 years and taught balloon decorating for 6 years.

Me:I don't care about money this is God's calling for me I came this far after so many ups and downs odds and everything I'm still here working on method creating catching different ideas investing them only because God wants me to do this
He wants me to walk in this path not the other so I'm gonna follow Him not the money or the world 🤷🏻♀️so yeah
May all that we do bring glory to God! If you love to draw, draw to show others the gift He gave you! If you love to play instruments, play to the glory of the Lord! Same with all other hobbies! BUT be sure you are creating things out of gratefulness to God, and not out of your own skill. God gets the credit!

How can we use our creativity for his glory? Does that mean only making things that are about God?
I really enjoy crocheting, and I would like to start knitting. I hit a stumbling block of thinking that crocheting is not glorifying to God. I sometimes think that I should give it up. I don’t know what to do, really.
Why do you think it's not glorifying God? You could crochet to clothe someone else, for example, to the glory of God. You could crochet while meditating on Jesus.

One of the reasons I'm not Christian anymore is that I saw some Christians saying that drawing,painting and art is considered idolatry (speaking about second commandment in Exodus) it basically destroys the idea of creativity and being a artist in general I might be completely wrong and I'm sorry if this offends someone

You are false teaching. God never ever says for all people to be creative. God does have much to say about false teachers and false teaching against what the Word of God actually says - 2 Peter 2:1 ESV - But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
I think you need to go back and watch this video again, sister. Then maybe again! Because that's not at all what is said in this video. Be very careful. Accusing your siblings in Christ in public with something untrue is not wise.
