Great video. I just checked my new to me Ram 1500 and it has a limited slip. Not having any idea when it was last changed this was on my list, but I guess I need to get some friction additive. Hopefully, someone in Exeter has some in stock so I can get this done as I am noticing some resistance when starting out with the wheels turned. I noticed for my 2005 it calls for 75-140 synthetic for the rear.
@@4DIYers No worries. I found a retainer clip on the magnet, so I'm having to just hope for the best and take to a shop for rebuild. I don't trust it and technically can't do major repairs in my parking spot.
Either by the vin or jack up the rear of the truck and turn one of the wheels. If they both turn in the same direction, it’s an LSD, if they turn in opposite directions its an open diff.

Thank you! It's definitely a must needed maintenance thing, otherwise it can shorten the life of the LSD.
Thanks for video info!
No problem, glad I could help!
Thanks for the video bro 😎
No problem!
Did you notice any improvement using the amsoil differential oil?
I changed my oil but they gave me 75w 140 but my ram feels like it is heavier and loses speed, it could be because of the oil.
Have a 2011 has two hex heads filler and drain. What size hex is it 🤔.
Did it stop shutter
No gasket made for this one?
Yes there is but I found them hard to find. My diff rebuild kit came with a gasket.

How do I know if I have a lsd?

what type of oil does it have lsd
