People tend to not believe these are indeed Myung's tracks, that's only fair. Because on the final recordings, Myung is so buried in the mix you NEVER pick up everything he's doing.
@@codyhansonbass oh damn.... my bad then. Well that's a good thing i guess cause it's just proof that he's not in fact a robot like everyone makes him out to be.
@@nicklas1206 haha no problem. John is awesome and i appteciate him but if you listen to his other isolated bass tracks, you will see he isnt very clean and precise. It all works out though!
@@chrisslooter2825nope, active soapbars, which is what the other comment claims was used on this, actually get rid of that. Source: play and love both passive and active.
@@gavinmerced I play an SDGR 875, with active soapbars. I get the same thing when I play, but it comes from hitting the strings aggressively regardless of the pickup. I like the sound, especially in the context of the rest of the mix, it cuts through the mix and it has harmonics too. If you don't want the classic metal / cliff burton sound, just play softly instead of punching the strings
It is. Listen carefully and you can hear the other instruments in the background. Especially in the intro. Timing is hard for even John to perfect man.
Remember, this was before the protools days where if you fuck up you can just drop in on a new take or move the sound wave to hit right on the beat- these are largely unmodified performances... and that means JM is fucking boss.
Bro, you have to take into account that you’re only listening to the bass. There’s no context. If there’s a track with the drums and bass you’ll see it sounds much better
Why is the bass so rythmically bad? But every one tends to think Muyung is the Best bass player. Basists that have problem with rythm are not good at all even if they play fast. Muyung is the perfect example of a fast but unrythmic player

He's not even buried in the mix. If he was way too out there in the mix it wouldn't sound as good
Oh it's myung for sure ..I can hear the nuances and it it definitely him on this track
You could say he's buried in the mix. Active electronics and finger playing will do that. If he used passive pickups you would hear him a lot better.
excellent bass player
I didn't know Cliff Burton played for Dream Theatre lul
exactly what i was thinking lol
Well this is not that hard to p... 3:17 wait wat
Recorded on a Spector 4 string
It's not a fretless folks.
This is just the uploader playing it's not even the original part...it's super off
@@nicklas1206 sorry, this is absolutely the original bass track. Youd be surprised.

@@nicklas1206 this is the original track. It’s taken from the rock band game, which uses the master tracks.
Alfatihah,, Quluhu..
Does anybody know did myung have EMG pickups in his spector while recording this?
Most likely, as all Spectors had EMG's until very recently.

Até hoje tem gente que acredita que este é o baixo original. Um cover tosco... kkkkkkkk
i really like the bass tone on this album but the clipping (john hitting the pickup w the strings) kinda bugs me
Active electronics in basses tend to do that.

They clipping and hitting give isolated bass tracks life,
Myung, Burton, Harris, etc
Is that the original !? Cause his timing is horrible.

Exactly my thoughts.

News flash dude... Some bass tracks are gonna be like this not to mention this stuff ain't easy I bet you're nothing but a talentless hack
Sounds like a novice without any makings
