You’re right the last two items were very meaningful. I love the ring. I could just imagine the person wearing it and looking down and saying yes I can’t believe they married me. When you find that special someone it’s such a wonderful feeling. Great finds and great video Si!!
I don’t do any of these things you do and I’m invested into your channel. It’s fun to watch you nerding out about your finds with your friends. It’s interesting to learn. I’m also enjoying your artsy crafts.
Ever thine! Such a beautiful ring with a beautiful story. I can’t imagine how it ended up in a field. Great finds. May not bring wealth but the history and stories. Hope you go back soon. Stay safe. 🦋
As always I enjoyed watching. I really appreciate your kind and caring spirit. I really admire that you don’t just go out alone but take friends and have a fun day of it! You’re a good man!
Cheers Adam. Lots were from clothes. Old clothes were given to the ‘Rag and Bone’ man, the bones would be used in bricks and the rags put on fields as fertiliser, and often there would be things in the pockets as well as loads of buttons
Lovely way to spend 31 minutes of a Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed all the finds but the ring was awesome and the silver thimble made my heart sing. Hubby gave me a metal detector and pin finder for Christmas and I am waiting very impatiently for the snow to go. So looking forward to March. Have a wonderful week and please keep safe. 😊
Absolutely beautiful finds,so romantic and tender, just to think of the people who had the ring and the recipient of such a tender item, takes my breath away,💘, thank you so much si for the round ups really appreciate it 💝
Beautiful bits 'n bobs! The value of the coins is a fun anecdote, bc the 'true worth', is in the finding! That chunky Cartwheel penny is stunning! & I like the big horseshoe, too! Some of my favorite finds are the crotal bells...I have bells in my house, that tinkle, plonk and bimmel when a breeze goes through the rooms 💚 and as always, I enjoy the clean-up! Thanks Si - love from Denmark 🌸💕
Thoroughly enjoyed again love the sweetheart ring and the cartwheel penny your friend found also the artillery timer it cleaned up beautifully I have to say the hawk flying above was so awe inspiring. The way he was moving his tail feathers sideways to turn so amazing so again thank you for something different to watch I love metal detecting have a great evening it was the first day of Autumn here in Australia and my daughters birthday 1st of March ☺ so a precious date for me ☺
Wonderful finds, Si...good to see both of you romping in the muck with about a "grade BEE" for the flower shots!...lol...seriously great positioning of the camera! Go Team!
Great treasure hunt Simon and some lovely finds. Although the value of the coins didn't amount to very much, it's in the thrill and the magic of discovering them that the true value lies. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
I was a picker of antiques in Washington state and I made enough for vacations to Disneyland and Canada. The beauty of being a picker is that you can go anywhere and pick. If you’re good, you can have your vacation paid for by picking.
Great day for great finds! It’s fun to research what you find. I have a crotal bell that I found on my grandparents land. As children we would tie them around my grandfather’s hound dogs and laugh as they freaked out by the sound. My grandfather was not as amused. 😂
So much history! I always enjoy your artistry, the display of all the coins on the blue is very appealing to the eye. It would even be a good watercolor study...
I was on a ranch in Mexico about 25 years ago and they still used bells on their cattle. The bells were much larger and definitely not that elaborate, but It did make them easy to find. This ranch was over 10,000 acres which is one of the smaller ranches in that area, but it was very rough terrain with extremely thick brush.
Now I can't wait to go detecting and it's only three weeks till spring! Many Thanks to you and the Silverado Terry! Some really great finds and hopefully you'll find that rare early gold coin this year Simon! And the bird was a kite I believe? And thanks fir completing my Sunday and now onto Nic! Love, Peace and Joy of Luck inna Muck! DaveyJO in Pennsylvania
Nice haul of coins, Si. The best way I've found of removing dirt from dug coins is to soak them in carpet cleaning solution for a few days, and then soak them in distilled water. It won't remove encrustations, but does wonders on hard-packed dirt, and doesn't harm the coin's patina at all.
Aloha Si..been having a hard time lately but when I watch your videos it calms me down and forget about the pain I have. Like you are metal detecting today ..not mucking in the mud a bit of a change 👍🏼👍🏼
Sci brings luck to all who detect and mud lark with him. Great video. I for one don’t watch to see any value in your finds but the stories behind those finds. That’s where the treasure is.
I made wind chimes out of old silver cutlery for myself. I wrapped the handles in silver wire that I had added a few glass beads to to reflect the light and attached the ends of the wire to chains to hang. That way I didn't harm the cutlery.
The silver 'Royal Navy' badge is a small copy of an RN officer's cap badge with a king's crown, so George VI, they are called "sweetheart broaches" and were popular during WWI and WWII.
“Ever thine?” Chuck us the sick bucket Si 😂 Nice finds on the (s)crotal bells. Not seen them popping up on anyone’s vids for a long time, nor the cartwheel pennies. You should ask Terry if you can make a casting of the navy badge.

Lovely isn’t it 👍🏻🐾🧡
Finding that lovely little honeybee on the thistle was my favourite treasure😃
Yes Jan! Save the bees. Still no takers on my bee hotel 🤨 🐝

I will never stop being amazed by what's buried beneath our feet 😍 Awesome video Si 😘💕
Thanks Beth! Me neither, a pot luck of lost treasure awaits!
Great finds Simon. It’s so strange how many objects & possessions are left behind in fields. Awesome!
Cheers Adam. Lots were from clothes. Old clothes were given to the ‘Rag and Bone’ man, the bones would be used in bricks and the rags put on fields as fertiliser, and often there would be things in the pockets as well as loads of buttons
@@Sifinds WOW! You should mention that in your next MD vid. :)

Thanks Viv! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Nice finds! It quite shocking how little these coins are worth now...But the joy of finding them is priceless. 😊
Right!
Wouldn’t you love to mudlark full time? If I ever came into money (😂) I’d do it! Keep these amazing videos coming!
It would be nice. Maybe if I won the lottery I’d do it 3 times a week - just so that I can have a day off to look forward to going out 😉
thank you soo much for valueing your finds
I did enjoy the adventure immensely. Thank you for sharing all your great finds… Best of luck on your next adventure….
Thank you Si, for taking us along. The ring was my favorite find.
The poignancy of the ring find and where the phrase came from.....good work Simon! You bring these finds to life. Good work !
Thanks Elaine! 👍🏻🐾🧡

Ooh never heard of that one before. Got a brand name or link?
@@Sifinds No, just trial and error from cleaning Roman coins. Any carpet solution should work.

Nice finds mate, I believe Terry's small buckle is actually a garter buckle from the late 18th early 19th century 👍
Got a link?

Thanks Linda! 😊👍🏻👣🧡
I like your Etsy site. I met a lady that turned old silver cutlery into wind chimes. Beautiful sound.
Thanks. Yes cool idea. I made a pipe wind chime last year. Check out that video
I made wind chimes out of old silver cutlery for myself. I wrapped the handles in silver wire that I had added a few glass beads to to reflect the light and attached the ends of the wire to chains to hang. That way I didn't harm the cutlery.
