@samantha smoth what? Just because she’s African doesn’t mean she’s wearing African clothes. Although some African cultures have big headgears and feathered clothes somalis don’t. People who are very well known for their headgear are Native Americans. She literally is one of the only people who understood the assignment. This is also not known for any tribe so she’s not cultural appropriating them!

I opened this video because of Iman's outfit - extravagant, exotic, yet elegant. The phenomenal work of the creator!
Its met gala, why did the majority choose the looks like for oscar or mtv award?! I believe it should be something crazy and creative. I like Rihanna's and Kardashians looks.

This is Harpers Bazaar's idea of best dressed, trust there were crazy outfits that were more like Met Gala... Other than Iman, this was like watching paint dry

But it does go well with the theme, this year it's American Fashion so it can't be that crazy or as creative as other years

Met Gala has definitely lost it's charm. The guest list is less exclusive now, people have forgotten to be extravagant and extra, it just seems like every other day American event whatsoever

Honestly the theme "American Fashion/Independence" is way too broad. I don't think anyone knew what to wear to that theme. Next year do a concept were people can easily gasp it.

@@Tiatiatiatia678 Yeah, some styles was good (Iman was my personal fav and best dressed) however there wasn't any "Wow" moments. No one really bought it this year and the theme was the reason.
I think Kim and Kanye were the only ones who really understood the theme tbh. They showed how iconic they are in American culture by having the audience already know them simply by their own silhouette’s showing their impact today.

Most of them didn't even follow the theme. I just found out about the theme (I would never had a guessed if I just look at their dresses). I googled it, this year supposed to be about 'American Indepence. In America, a Lexicon of fashion' So yeah, this Met Gala 2021 red carpet moment just showing us about these celebrities knowledge and point of views about American indepence. Most are woke. Some are just showing there because of their sponsors, they basically don't have much liberty or don't even had idea to expressing their own ideas, just dictated by the big corporates and their agencies, some just glad to be there. Some just another narcissist who think the universe only centered at them. However, at least a few really showing their effort and genuinely respect the team they're working with, and I really appreciate them.

The lady in red in this video looked nice, sexy too, and although I can’t decide how I feel about Jlo in general, I thought she looked nice and sexy too. Kendall Jenner is BY FAR the prettiest of all the Kardashians!

This was a pretty toned down year to be honest. Not very many embodied the true spirit of the Met. You'd think after it being pushed back people would have gone all out.

I feel like this year's Met was the most disappointing. There were barely any A-Listers and the theme is much too complex for fashion. Also it's kinda tonedeaf.

@@kennyb1588 because they were celebrating America im guessing. News came out recently that a guy in Afghanistan the american government killed was actually innocent all along. That news makes it even more tone deaf.
To be honest it was a hard theme to pull off, maybe simply "american inspiration" would have been better, or last year's theme related to time and revolution or something like that.

Designer actually created it so Iman could step completly out of the feather hoop to sit down and a smaller head piece for dinner. She was wearing a beautifully tailored pant beneath which perfectly matched her corset. Gorgeous!
