I’ve got a ‘05 T30 had it for 4 yrs and was looking at getting something a bit bigger , like an R51 , for camping trips it would like to make it more camping friendly - but I don’t think I can part with the T30 , bullet proof & only done 155Ks - nice to see a hardtop RTT - certainly given me some ideas & inspiration - great video
The only other mod i can recommend that some people on x trail forums use....is to turn the rear reflectors into fog lights. If Charles has deleted the central bumper fog light to make way for a reversing cam, he might want to turn the 2 circular reflectors into lights. Maybe he has done this and didn't mention it. Great video, really enjoy my t30.
If you freeze stuff prior to heading off, you can go for days with a portable fridge. Steak etc will take a few days to thaw fully and kept cold will last several more easily. Same for milk. Added advantage these items serve as ice blocks, so the fridge doesn't need to draw heaps of power to maintain 4-5°C.
I’m looking to buy a 2006 model 2.2 diesel, with 240k Km , what should I look for when installing it. I used to have 2000 Pathfinder gas engine that worked perfect just the salt that used in winter in USA rusted the underside of the car.
Hey 👋 I'm looking to put a 70kg roof top tent the same Xtrail as this, but I'm not to sure about how it will handle on off/unsealed roads. How do you find it off road? Thanks 😊
@RuggedLife : Congrats for the very good video. I wonder if you know the reason why Nissan has reduced the power of QR25 engines from T30 series I to II?
@@ruggedlife Interesting, good to know that. I have just bought last month a 2007 T30 ST-S 4x4 with QR25 and auto transmission. It has only 124K on the clock, it is in pristine condition and well looked after. I am absolutely loving this car. I was convinced to change to an X-Trail after driving my wife's one, she is the first and only owner of a T31 Diesel she got brand new back 2013 and has only 97K on the clock. When I was browsing to buy a used one, I have just found the T30 to be more appealing to me than the T31. Your videos are amazing and have helped a lot to understand better this car and its potential. Thanks for that and keep it up! I will continue browsing your videos to learn more about this amazing soft four wheel drive SUV. Would you know of any easy and simple ways to unleash more power from this QR25 without affecting its longevity?
For that, general stage 1 mods like for any vehicle is the way. Upgrade intake and exhaust to let it breathe better. Cooler intake and full exhaust upgrade.
Hey guys! @RuggedLife Congrats for the channel! Can you help me with any information or advice about the intallation of the third rail? I want to install a Roof Tent like this one... Wish you the best from Chile!

Excellent video. So much helpful info shared. Nissan X-Trail is an underrated 4x4 simply because it's not a Patrol or Land-cruiser in the eyes of self-appointed 4x4 police. Interestingly Andrew St Pierre White, who is a respected 4x4 guru, heaps a lot of praise on Nissan X-Trail in his UA-cam video titled "Choose the right 4WD truck" at 4xOverland channel. See ua-cam.com/video/EhllcFNgYXM/v-deo.html So while the X-Trail won't reach the max limits of Patrols or Land-cruisers, it has it's place in the off-road world. There are more than enough videos out there confirming this, including from this channel, Rugged Life. Cheers
I live in Bavaria and me and my wife love to travel to the mountains in Switzerland,Austria,Italy and Germany but we have an Alfa Romeo 159 but it is toooo fucking low to the gound even for speed bumps and we are thinking to buy a Nissan Xtrail as our first offroad vehicle but I am not sure at how reliable it is...
i read that the diesel, as with many nissan models, have some certain problems with a valve that gets dirty or something and it may caus cause starting issues. the gasoline versions however are very reliable and dont have any particular problems other than normal maintenance and wear over time due to the usage
and u got ur fridge to boxed in... no air flow from fan lower left and will kill it, been ther done that twice, give ur fridge plenty of space around all fans 120mm is good , less than that starts choking air flow....
His X-Trail is very nice. The guy seems very nice.
Yes and yes!
Takes lots of passion to get this car done up to this state.Thumbs up from me.
Very very nice, bought my first x trail a week ago, 2007 model 4x4 2.5
Xtrails are great tourers 😁
But I would not use one for hard off-road driving. A Nissan Patrol yes, but not an X-Trail.

Titan automotive in Oxenford Gold Coast. Cost $10k plus $1.5k fitting.

Use 50mm strut spacers for more ground clearance👍🏼
Strut spacers are only good with standard height springs. He needed the stiffer springs to hold the weight and those springs only come lifted.
for nothing... or for too little .... the car speaks for itself
Awesome video! Do you know where he got the seat covers?
Still a second series T30 X-Trail. The engine was detuned mid second series.
Yes that is actually correct. Thanks for your input.
My 2005 still has plenty of power
how do the extract headers work
In a nut shell, they get the exhaust gas out of the engine's cylinder as quickly as possible being more free flowing than standard extractors.
Rugged Life, Who is the manufacturer and the model of the headers?
