I m in love with your " day in a life of ..." series, they are my favourite because it s unique, you find videos of japanease food , onsen ... everywhere, but in my opinion, there is no better way to really know the culture, than to experience it through the locals themselves, really good job with those videos. Thank you for doing your best you and your lovely wife ^^ , lots of love from me and my husband from Morocco^^

My brother went there a year ago and when he told me about his trip I asked him to visit places that I want to go, like Kyoto (Temples, shrines, etc), Hiroshima (Museums, ground zero, etc), Osaka, the bar life in Tokyo and also, as a MUST, the Gundam Unicorn statue in Odaiba (Huge Gundam fan myself). I think he saw some of your videos and when I recently discovered your channel and shared it with him, he told me he did saw some of them, which helped him A LOT!!!

spending the last day at an onsen after you check out is an amazing idea! i wish i had thought of that when i was there last year. we had a 9pm flight so we paid extra to checkout at 1pm plus more to store our bags while we went out for lunch and shopping. i had even considered paying an extra night but our apartment wasn't available. it prob wouldve been cheaper and more relaxing to go to an onsen

I like to stay at the airport the night before leaving, so I check in to a capsule hotel, like the 9 Hours at Narita terminal 2.
Then I just walking around and I always end up at the observation deck with some snacks and couple of beers from the konbini, aah, perfect way to say good bye to Japan.
And no stress the next morning.

Just got back from Tokyo and found your videos really useful for planning that trip, thanks! I ate at that Tsukemen restaurant and loved it as well. In terms of luggage, I used Sagawa to store and ship luggage from Tokyo station to Narita since we wanted a lighter load when we went to Kyoto for a couple of days. Very easy service to use even with the language barrier.
Also note, most travelers from the USA fully expect the airport food and drinks to be marked up 2x to 3x above normal price. Not so in Narita! The 7-11 in the secure area had normal prices for everything, including the awesome egg sandwich!
Also note that there's a new Suica card called "Welcome Suica" which doesn't have the 500 yen deposit but you can't return it and it expires after ~28 days. They sell it at the airports so it can get confusing which Suica you end up getting. Just don't load too much money on it and at the end of the trip, buy a bunch of egg sandwiches at the airport 7-11 with the remaining balance!

Just a tip for people who want to send their luggage to airport but dont stay in hotels. U can send from conbinis (7-11, FamilyMart, Lawson etc). But send it 2 - 3 days ahead for airport. And if staying at airbnbs in japan, I send to a Yamato Takkqubin office nearest my airbnb. These services keep your luggage for 7days. It's a really good service. For eg, if I m in Osaka, and I have less than 7days in Tōkyo before I fly out(or any destination) I send luggage from Osaka to Haneda n pick it on departure day there.
More convinient to travel on shinkansen with just a small hand carry

If you're not staying in hotels but still want to forward luggage to the airport, you just go to them instead or you can even arrange for them to come to your AirBNB/whatever if you're savvy enough. I recommend Yamato Transport with the black cat, their buildings are really easy to find to bring your stuffed luggage to them and they'll ship it straight to Narita/Haneda!

Hey Paolo, could you make a video for fun places to play Pokemon Go in Japan? I love your videos by the way. I'll be in Japan for the first time in November. I just recently turned thirty last month, I've been dreaming of making it to Japan for the past 25 years. I'm SO excited to be going to Japan! Your Japan videos took the nervousness and angst I had of traveling to Japan away completely, I thank you very much for that!!

Great tips. I have a late night Haneda flight and a few hours at the local onsen would be perfect.

If you use Sprint Phone Network. You only have to pay 5$ a week or a month when you go to Japan. It's an add-on

if you have knowledge, it would be great if you could make a video about moving back to your home country after living in Japan for a number of years - I'm especially interested in advice about how to ship multiple items back to your home country... cheers

I went to that onsen you showed in your video 3 weeks ago. But I didn’t go soak in the onsen because I didn’t have enough courage to go completely naked. I simply went upstairs and couch-potatoed, even though I don’t understand much Japanese.
