You're such a wonderful, compassionate teacher! And don't worry about being harsh: I can only speak for myself, but if I thought my dance moves looked great, I wouldn't be watching a dance tutorial for beginners... Honesty is a rare virtue these days, and yours is really refreshing! Don't change it!

Hi , it makes sense . I'm very new to dance after a life long inhibition to dance (2 left feet and nothing but bad experiences relating to dance. Thought there was just no hope for me - avoiding parties etc to avoid having to deal with dance. Fast forward - found your videos ,60 steps for beginners for example , and you're so smooth and easy looking style gave me confidence to try again. Well i started out with the "Indian Step" because i thought it looked cool - and if i'm gona do any dance at all i want to do that ! After about the third nite of practice i started to get a sense of ""Creativity" and started adding just little nuances of my own and got so excited to find that i can be creative while still using the basic concept ..... "Creativity" is the fun of it all - because it comes from within - seems like that's the part that makes dancing your own ... Never thought i could do it and surprised it happened so quickly after all this time. Anyway that's my story and i'm sticking to it . and thank you for being instrumental to me finding a huge self esteem boost in my life - i am freeking HOOKED now - i go practice every nite when i get home and there's a bit of a dance floor where i work that is actually my section and i'm always doing some moves while at work . This is so much fun and so good for the mind and body connection - I used to lift weights seriously ( state champion and national level ) , had to overcome that meat head mentality - but so surprised that these moves Hip Hop get me sweating so quickly - it's like i've found the missing link to a balanced personality - thanks so much for what you do - if i could hug you i would - Happy New Year

Hi Monika, allow me to imaginarily shake your hand and make a public acknowledgment of the service you're giving me even though you don't know about it. Let me explain myself: I have had YOPD (Young Onset Parkinson's Disease) for several years now, and I'm always pushing myself physically to stay ahead of Mr. P (that's what I call the manifestation in me of this condition) in this race we are both part of. What I usually do is that no matter what routine I'm following in a particular period of time, I do so with medication and without it (I like a good challenge). A while ago It occurred to me that dancing would be an excellent workout, but I'm not a good dancer and although I'd like to blame Mr. P for my lack of skills in that department that wouldn't be fair for my loyal companion. I can't dance because I have two left feet. Simply as that. So I've been looking for tutorials that can work on a two-left-feeted-rhythmless-naturally-stiff-Parkinson's-patient-slow-to-learn man :D like myself and teach me how to dance. I didn't find any so I was going to give up, but then I found your channel and the unthinkable happened: You taught him who is unteachable, that is to say me :D. Now I'm the best dancer ever! (wishful thinking). Seriously, being able to do this is going to help me a lot with the physical and mental sides of my condition. Thank you very much for doing what you do. We do not know each other, but I want you to know that I appreciate you for helping me. Only my best wishes to you.

    • @GetDance

That means so much to me! Thank you for sharing your story. I will try to include tutorials on basic steps like the one I posted today: 2-step. I think it’s a good start for beginners. I’m excited to hear from you on your dance journey, please stay in touch. Much love 🥰

I am an older person with physical restrictions and go clubbing in place of physical therapy or yoga. It works extremely well mentally and physically. After 30 yrs on dancefloors i got rhythm and style enough to have people come and dance with me. I dont have speed or flexability but at 4am i still got style :) Watch old salsa and tango dancers, they can have the simplest of minimal moves and still be in the zone. Persist and persist. - and never just half dance.
