Yeah Dillon! Just the kind of videos we need to see, real world discussion of some great gear including the items you make and some economical options like the tent/sleeping bag! I appreciate your comments about those of us on the fence about whether to get the Highline or the Roan since they both can crossover up to a point for 3 season use, but there's no getting around the fact that reality dictates 50 plus liters for most mere mortals in the winter, even on shorter trips. The 2023 PCT for those who were successful northbound on a conventional itinerary had many needing substantially larger packs for the Sierras since it was such a slog through the huge snow pack so 55 plus liters would be very welcome. Sure you can strap all kinds of junk to the outside of most smaller packs but at a certain point it becomes ridiculous and unwieldy/uncomfortable especially when food carries get extended due to fewer daily miles. In a perfect world where finances wasn't a deal one would have a 35-40 ltr. Highline for 3 seasons and a 55 ltr. Roan for the larger volume loads either on crazy comfort trips or when taking the kids etc. plus the winter trips for those of us lucky enough to be close to those areas. Thanks again.

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes, I have to remind myself that not everyone can have 118 backpacks like me and has a specific one for every use case imaginable 😂😂
I'll spoil my video a little bit and say that I think the 45L Roan is what I'm going to recommend to those on the fence. It's the same size as the 40L Highline but simply has a little more roll-top collar. I believe it will be a great size for typical 3-season use but be able to expand just enough for a quick winter trip for most of our customers. That being said, you're absolutely right in saying that sometimes a 55L is a requirement.

Sweet winter setup. It is very similar to mine. I hope to see a review of the Paria sleeping bag you have, but I am not sure it fits into your neutral and red color scheme haha! I have their sleeping pad and their 2 person Arches tent that I haven't used yet but like the quality of. Great video! Keep em' coming!

Yeah it’s not a bad looking bag but doesn’t fit the color scheme 😢 I wish they offered more options.
I also own the 2p arches. It’s what I use when I go out with my wife. It’s awesome. I love that it easily fits two wide, rectangular pads. Being inexpensive, reasonably light, and well made are all pros as well!

@@pilgrimultralight my exact reasons for buying too! Only use it with the wife and it is huge for a trekking pole tent! I love the 52”+ floor.

Im currently using the Kakwa 40 pack and I love it. But I find it to be just a tad bit small for using it as my 4 season pack. I was looking for one with a tad bit volume and thought about getting the Kakwa 55 but now I think I'll be getting the Roan 55. Looks awesome!

Its just a cheap thing from aliexpress. Shipping takes forever but this thing is super cheap, lightweight, and reflective insulation is really effective.
